Thank you... It's the elephant in the room most often...as a care provider, a friend, a daughter of mom with cancer currently and a nurse for a many along this road of life it's a blessing and curse but I wouldn't change it, dying with dignity and peace.... priceless.

Just recently I was talking to my mom and I asked how my grandmother (her mom) had passed. She told me she had a stroke in her sleep and went very peacefully. Then she says "that's how I want to go." It kind of caught me off guard but she is 67 now so I suppose it's natural to think that way when you get older. I really do hope she goes peacefully tho. I've seen others go through years of pain before they pass and I wouldn't wish that on anyone

As a caregiver most all my life i agree with you Kathleen.
I just wish i knew the right words to say to them since my face will be one of the last they see and my voice the last they hear. But many of them lost their hearing a long time ago so that makes it hard to communicate to them. My late husband was unresponsive to words in his last days .. so one day i was quietly holding his hand and gently stroking his arm. . He suddenly spoke out loud & clear "will you PLEASE STOP rubbing my arm!!" ..
      ummm okay. 😳
It was the last thing he said to me before he passed.

@@QueenDawn85 I am listening. I hear your voice. I hear your anger, hurt, disappointment and disillusionment, your rejection and pain. You are not alone. We never are for each one of us is a remarkable unique entity with the capacity to breathe and so breathe our life into reality. All the negativity you have and are experiencing is overwhelming however you have a choice one that only you can make. This makes you the most powerful person you know for taking control of your feelings. The chemistry of your emotions are yours
Take a deep breath and sit with this authority; embrace it. If you wish to change your situation go gently, learn to be kind to yourself, good to yourself and please be patient learning to be patient as you grow more accustomed each moment to nurturing yourself.
When the world is brutal, unkind, dismissive and isolating it feels cruel, however it is a time to determine who we want to be, and to be who we want to be directing this towards ourselves. When others don’t care, we can learn the lesson most rarely learn, that to be a truly caring person, we must FIRST care for ourselves. Allow the true meaning of gentleness, kindness, goodness and patience grow within us and so we learn the truth about love, first hand …
Fill up with this truth and watch your life gently transform. You will be richer than any other person you know and your life will have purpose and meaning

Death is an inevitable and an important part of all our lives and talking about it should be as normal as talking about breathing, eating, bathing etc . As Albert Camus said, Living is keeping the absurd alive. Keeping it alive is above all contemplating it”. This is not an ordinary thing to do, because although most people think about their death from time to time, they think about it vaguely, remotely, and don't accept it into their lives as an essential part of their existence.

When people accept and face their mortality they are able to appreciate their living.
Life is a gift, rare and wonderful. Be thankful for the gift.
Older people are more likely to accept their mortality because they have had a lifetime of experiences.
For younger people, dying can be a tragedy. They could feel cheated that they have not had their full measure. I have no answer for this, just the weak suggestion that they did have some life.
All of us can only play with the hand we are dealt. Be happy.
