In this video, I built a custom UC Vanguard starship. It tuned out pretty cool. I can’t wait to actually use this thing in the Vanguard questline!

For me it's funny that the ship you captured was a Ghost. I'm Level 65 and finished the UC Vanguard mission arc back at Level 25 or so. It was the first faction I finished and yet I've only seen three or four UC Vanguard ships total - and all of them were Watchdogs (the standard version of the CF Ghost). I've never seen any UC Vanguard ships in space, only landed or coming in to land after I do. I always thought the UC Vanguard colors were so cool and now I can have them on my ships, so thank you!

I’ve seen UC Vanguard Raptors in space, but never Watchdogs, those I seem to only find at landing sites. I built a Vanguard Watchdog on another playthrough. Maybe it’s time for a video on that one.

Im about to start a character that will join UC Vanguard. This is perfect. I’m a goofy role player and I love this.

Funny bug note: "And here's your new captain" is only supposed to be said the very first time you land at New Atlantis. On most of my chars, he never said it again after that. BUT, I have one char where he says it every. single. time. you talk to him. Looks like you've got that bug too. :P

      That’s not normal? 😂

    Neat build so far.
Having to skip across the galaxy also means that you have a higher chance at random encounters. Well, if you take your time and plot each jump individually.
Self-limitation is something that not a lot of players do. Instead, they will follow every exploit guide possible to become as powerful as possible. Then they bitch about how easy the game is.
Nice ship build. Not necessarily my "style," but nice in a functional way.

That’s cool, not everybody is gonna like it. I’m just here to give people ideas.
If you don’t want the game to be so easy, one way to do that is to simply NOT make yourself so OP. I know that’s hard for people to wrap their head around.

You did a Vanguard build, but you didn't install any of their OP weapons, or their shield (with a reputation of being the 2nd best shields in the game)?

I haven’t even started the UC Vanguard quest line, and I mention that at the end of the video.
… But, I didn’t even know they had unique parts for the Vamguard, so thanks for the tip!

You can use Class A weapons with a Class B reactor, so pick up their auto particle beam cannons (you can mount up to 6 of them), and two of their missile launchers. You probably have enough levels in Starship Design for some White Dwarf 3015s, with the 180 top speed, right?

@@PockyFiend Probably. I’d have to go back and look, I’m fairly high level with class B parts unlocked so most likely. When I start doing the quest line I’ll definitely make some updates!

@@PockyFiend The missile launchers are horribly weak. Yeah, they shoot a LOT of rounds... but they don't hit for squat.

Lmao! Suppressor don't do much? That's because you only have a couple bars on it! Give it more energy.. lol lol

I had it at 3 and the max was 4… I suppose I could’ve just put EM weapons all over the spacecraft, but then it sucks up too much power. Oh well, it’ll buff.

@@HalfwayNuts it sounds like neither of you know the fact that powering weapons does not affect their damage per shot but only how fast they reload. i guess it´s a common idea people think it adds damage but it really doesn´t other than what extra you get from reloading faster. there´s also the fact that to get the most out of an EM ship weapon you really should use the Targeting Control Systems skill, even just as rank 1. to target what system it is you actually wanna take out instead of just shooting and hoping it hits certain ones. my source here is a video by STALVIET called "Starfield Ship Mechanics, Stats & Building Full Guide" never did i think i´d sit and listen to a 2 hour long video on ship building but it is a very good video.

@@jesbling Fair enough. I guess I better go take a look, sounds like Stalviet has some good content to watch. Thanks for the tip!

EMP doesn't do jack in a fight to the death, it only disables enemy systems. it also works MUCH better in targeting mode, where you can PICK the system you're aiming at, instead of having it randomly affect something.
4 particle beams in slot 1 (or 6 for the vanguard obliterator, or whatever the power limit fits: max of 12 power, per system.)
4 (again, or however many fit) EMP weapons in slot 2.
only power up the weapons you want to use; eg, if you're capturing, all power to emp. if you're destroying, all power to particle beams. they don't do more damage, but they DO recharge/reload faster, which ends up being more sustained DPS.
