Really interesting video! It is too often ignored that France has built its wealth off of the enslavement and colonization of North Africa and the Caribbean for centuries. France is still currently profiting off of its former colonies. Ignoring this history, ignoring race, and ignoring systemic racism will not erase it or its impact on the social and structural issues within modern society. It is naive to pretend that this situation exists within a vacuum and detached from history. Racism is not only present in indivudal actions, it draws significant power from institutions such as the police force, government systems, the justice system, and the education system among others. We will never be able to create progress unless we collectively begin to take an honest look at our history and how it has shaped our current societies.
So has every empire anywhere on the globe at any time in history. You conquer, you use the resources of colonised lands and the workforce of the vanquish to promote your own greatness. We may not like the concept of vae victis but we can't change that past.

The reason this vice report is so bad is that it is completely skewed from the start.
1. The only convergence between Adama Traore's death and George Floy's is that they are dead. Otherwise there have been so far 3 forensic reports stating that Traore died because of gene -based malformation while George Floyd's case is crystal clear. Furthermore, the two events played out in completely different ways since Traore ran from the policemen for 20 mn while Floyd did not resist his initial arrest at all.
2. Rigouste's allegation at the end are completely unsubstantiated in the course of his interview. He just hammers down that French Police tactics were devised during colonial time without ever coming up with one evidence that this was so.
There are certainly many things to better in the French police force particularly on the issue of racism however this does not help at all to understand what and how. Among other things the forbidding of racially based stats is not helping to understand what's not working.
Why not show how Génération Identitaire interrupted the "protest" with a huge banner from the roof?
Actually they did not stop the protest. I was there and the protest couldnt go any further because of what the government decided (no gathering of people because of Covid-19), not because of the racist banner that had been taken off by one of the protester.

As a Balkan I'm confused on why we think there are different "Races" if we all have the same genetic code and as species call ourselves homo sapiens, some develop higher amounts of melatonin in our skin in order to protect ourselves from certain environments or climas, but how does that make us different species or races?

It's a myth that ethnicity can't be used in statistics. Their are strict requirements and it must be based on objective facts (like country of origin), not just on how people identify themselves or others. Still, it's legal.

You need proof. Sadly we have grown into a society whom the alleged has to defend and not the alleger.
