Happy Year to you, and Happy Birthday to Bear! We moved to a new home just before Christmas (not so very far from the Hiwassee Bruderhof) and amidst the endless tasks of that big move, our dear pup kept us grounded in the dailiness of life. Each day she needed us to pause for her walks, her meals, moments to see with her new sights and her favorite, to smell new smells. She was and remains a means of God’s in-breaking grace for us, as she slows us down long enough each day to recognize the presence of the holy, particularly in the gift of creation. Sending blessings to you, and to Bear, too.

My dog is also 4 and a similar size to Bear. He brings my whole family joy. Love the (attempted) Aussie accent at the end!

I love how sharing Bear with us in your message and in photographs is such a great way to get your point across about living in the present moment. She's lived 13 human years, but is still full of beans (so to speak)

Thanks, Margaret - and there's nothing "unfortunate" about cats. They pass through our lives too, some staying longer than others. (Perhaps one day we'll have to do a video on what they've taught us.) One thing's clear: dogs have masters, cats have staff. Our two keep us busy in their service. Blessings to you on each new day! We plan a little birthday party tonight, a gathering that will include four dog's total, including the birthday dog. It's silly, but silly makes us laugh, and laughter is sooo good! These animals give us so much, teach us so much. Good gifts point us to the Giver we love and praise.

Welcome, Jensine! We're glad you've discovered our channel and hope you'll enjoy more of our videos. We try to post every 2 weeks - at least, that's our goal... Norann tells me (Chris) that the trick to catching sunrises on camera is to get up before the sun comes up. I am happy to leave most of those opportunities to her - but we both love trying to capture the amazing sunsets. Living in Australia, we are spoiled with glorious skies virtually every night (and day). We'll do our best to keep sharing them! Wishing you joy and peace for the week ahead! C&N
