I've always believed this is how they should have built the Liberator in ww2. Removing the barrel to reload would have been so much faster than that strange little guns reloading process.
While true, the liberator wasn’t really intended to be used multiple times. The idea was for a person to use it on a German sentry, kill him and then take the soldiers weapon. You could reload it but it was really intended to be a one shot use. I almost bought one at a gun show I saw but I didn’t research on it and you can only fire it anywhere from 25-50 times before the barrel might burst. Still would be a cool conversation piece.

@@jimafcarbon4433And what if (admittedly this is a particularly subjective account) any and every form of gun-making is a mugs’s game and is only there to bolster his or her fear of potential attack by someone from the outside? The possession of personal arms - with the exception of a country’s legal obligations to protect its citizens and borders - is anathema to my way of thinking and without a doubt can take on a life of its own, a distortion if you will, spiralling out of control if allowed to dominate an individual’s rationale. Yes, the creative element in man can be a wonder to behold however simplified or complex. But the primary aim for gun production, sales and purpose is that it remains solely as a product to maim or kill. Nothing else. Going back to the point of a country’s defensive needs, the gun serves as a warning and as a symbol of fear. It’s just all too negative for me to see any form of ordnance in a positive light. People tend to forget that it's not all "safe" enclaves of cities with all the wild animals leaving people alone. Four, weapons tend to even the odds for women attacked by men, or a single person attacked by a group. Five, you are ignoring the increasingly common lack of a police force. Take Pittsburgh, for instance. Did you know that for five hours a day, they have NO police? And worse, they told the public, and therefore the criminals, exactly which hours those will be. And you are telling me you want people there to be disarmed? Then look at all the places with the strictest gun control. Do you really believe that a) the criminals care? or b) that the otherwise law abiding should be unable to defend themselves against superior fire power?

Reminds me of s toy that was released in 1965 called "Sixfinger" ......The Sixfinger from Topper Toys is a dangerous weird little toy from the 1960s that had some serious firepower.
Under the law, you may manufacture 3 firearms per year and aren't required to register them so long as they stay in your position. They absolutely ARE legal.
That 3 limit came from a suggestion on an ATF letter. It was a hypothetical, it's not a official number in ATF rules or law. But... if you stick with that, it would be difficult to prove you were "in the business". As opposed to making 100 or 1000.
@jimafcarbon4433 many of the laws the atf tries to enforce are "suggestions or hypocriticals in letters" they are fools. Most agents in atf have no business being near firearms
I found one of those when I was around 9 and didnt know what it was. Playing with it I almost shot my friend in the head when I discovered what it actually was I gave it to a family member in 1980. Pretty cool little device I found the one I had in the woods so it was probably stolen.
Or somebody used it, and dumped it. And it's got a body or 3 "on it"...could never trust a "found" gun. They got rid of it in those woods for a reason....20k unsolved in the u.s. alone, everyday. So this is how they're all gettin away with it, for real tho. It's so easy to just dissappear one day. And if nothing looks weird. You're just another statistic, no evidence of foul play, no body...well, it's just another "missing" person now isn't it.
Guys! A gun is just a tube that's closed at one end. It is a pre-Industrial technology, and is available to anyone! I would refer you to the Star Trek episode "Arena"... so much for gun control!!!

Exactly ! They are lying that there's anything based in reality for effective gun control when $10 at home depot and an hour in the garage is all it takes to get a firearm.
Yep. I always tell these loonys who cry “just get rid of guns” whenever they see a crime that even with a magic wand that makes them all vaporize, criminals will have them back in their hands almost immediately and violent crime would spike in every city in the nation overnight. This doesn’t work in reality which would be an even worse situation. Criminals would be perfectly safe from any change and remain as armed as ever while many legal owners would suddenly become disarmed and the criminals would know this and take advantage of it. They never think one or two steps ahead of their emotional outbursts to the consequences of their simple minded ideas.
That is not a ghost gun. That is not a zip gun that is a homemade gun. You are allowed to build one a year. I suggest you put the date of its birth on it
In most states in the US, these are simply classified as a firearm and only regulated as such. No requirements for serial numbers, registrations or anything like that. Again, that is federal. Some states do regulate and limit.
@PoliticallyIncorrectMechanic there was once reference to an ATF letter using 3 as an example. Somehow, since it has been common place to think it was law. It was just an example. No number in the laws or rules. That is better for them really. Because they could charge you for doing it just once. Might not get a conviction, but that's how you scare people.

@@JKTF476 I've not heard of Liberators ever actually being used, although a number surely were dropped to Resistance members. Am I wrong?
@@2earacheYou are wrong - to my way of thinking.
For one, you completely discount sports.
For two, you completely discount hunting (food does not magically grow in the grocery store).
Three, you discount the defense of self, other people, and other animals from predators. The U.S. is huge.

1. A grip extending at a downward angle from the bore.

Right. I bet 1/8" npt brass is a little stronger than 60's car antennas. But what do I know? Oh, wait, they've been building 45/70's and other rifles from brass for over 150 years. I think we'll be OK.

I once watched a subject for an SO unit on a traffic stop while he searched his vehicle. The guy was on parole. He abruptly pulled out of the car and shouted, "Cuff him NOW!"
He asked him, "Where's the gun?"
He said he didn't have any guns.
I knew I had to search this guy really, REALLY GOOD. As I was about to empty his shirt pocket, he told me to please be careful with handling his pen. I asked why, and he said because it wasn't a pen. That was my first encounter with a zip gun. It looked just like a reg pen
If I were smarter, I'd write a book of short stories based on the comment section.
Some DIY zip guns were made from pens. Just as likely to get hurt at either end.
Holy shit I bet that was so cool!! I drove trk 48 @ Canada @ many times I drove solo. My daddy used to just absolutely be at woods end with worry till I finally managed to get not just a pistol, but also a super awesome 110 lb male Doberman, and of course the usual pepper spray, whistle etc. My coolest knife looked exactly like an ink pen @ it even wrote!
In my dad's defense for being so crazy worried..
I'm 5'1, 107 lbs, and have no fear. I loved big trucks from the 1st time I ever saw one, and as soon as I started talking I'd tell everyone when I grew up I was gonna drive a big truck. Which I did, I also learned how to operate heavy equipment which I also enjoyed. I taught my son how to drive, and he will tell ppl in a heartbeat his mom taught him all he knows about trucks. It's so funny because he's 6'3 @ 200 lbs!! I also taught him to shoot, throw knives, ride a horse and a 4 wheeler, then taught my grandson the same stuff. Yep, I'm the tiny grandma in boots @ jeans, hair in a braid down to my knees @ a rescue pit bull on either side. Swinging my bucket as we head to pick berries and finish at the creek for a cool off dip. I'm happy, happy with my life @ my critters and love the sun on my skin. Thank You God for all my joy...

Yes, you are correct. Camera angle makes it look worse though. No fingers were harmed in the making of this video. Safety third.

I've received that comment a few times !
Right? They looked so ridiculously cheesey and fake. It was essentially "just add some rust to it. Zip guns are covered in rust, right? Oh who cares."
@@jimafcarbon4433 it's at least the rule of thumb before having to register as a manufacturer
Somebody probably stashed it because they didn't want to get caught with it.
Stolen? A homemade device?? Nah. Tht shit was a murder weapon lmfaooooo
Or it was a murder weapon 🔫🔪 lmao🤣
I could imagine a kid or a junkie stealing it from a family member. I was once a naughty kid who stole a gun or two from his grandpa.
Amazing....I had no iidea.....I'm 100% pre gun ownership but here in California I f8nd it hard to believe you can create your own....

@@jimafcarbon4433 You're not wrong, friend.

One a year?! Yeah ok.
It is a zip gun 100 percent. 😮
