It looks like you did a deep dive into the Creek video vault to put this together. Well done! I noticed a clip of the Casey Revolution . Are you going to do a full review at some point?
Thanks John, it was fun putting it together! I have only had one session on the Revolution and it was really crappy waves, so I didn't get much feel for it yet. Hopefully Lake Atlantic will provide soon and I can get some more of these boards in some surf. I really wanted to ride a 10 x 30 Revolution for a more longboard feel, so I will have to wait till I can ride one of those.
love your chilled videos and music, what is your favourite all SUP surfing board and I am relatively new into SUP surfing and currently have a 10'6 board is there a major difference going down to a 9'6 board?

When I first started on an 11'2 x 36, I couldn't imagine being able to stand on a 10'er in the ocean... now I surf boards as small as 8'3. The journey is not always about going smaller, but having the right board to suit your particular needs. I have watched many SUPsters go shorter and shorter over the years... and yet don't actually surf better, they just struggle more as they go smaller. Having said that, there is a huge benefit to get to the optimum size and shape for your own surfing and your surf conditions. Generally, I use bigger boards in smaller surf, because they provide the needed glide to maximize the fun. I have many boards in the 8'7 to 9' range that I prefer when the waves are good. Hey Rick! I've been riding an 8'7" Creek for the last few years a I really like it, but it needs a bit of size/hollowness to come alive. I love it when it's overhead. I think it's the rocker, esp tail rocker. Thinking about a performance board for chest to head and a half. Wondering what you think about SP25 or Wedge. Both in 8'5" have more volume than the Creek. I don't know your personal stats but I will relay my experience: Since I was 69 and 245 lbs, I love my 9'4 Creek in everything, but never really had the same results on my 9'1 or 8'10 Creeks. My take was that it needed some surface area to give me what I wanted. On the other hand: I ride an 8'7 Placid, 8'8 SP25 and 8'9 Kanga with great results. Every board is different in the way it provides for me personally. I am 74 years old (now 220 lbs).... if I were younger, with more snap in my legs, I would probably be able to create the energy I need on certain boards. The Wedge is one of those boards.... I made the mistake of getting mine too big.... twice. My 9'2 is ok, but I think my legs would actually get more out of an 8'8..... direct opposite of the Creek. Some of my takes: The 8'8 SP25 is a ton easier than the 8'10 Creek for me... full performance and stays powered up where the Creek would be lackluster if not on the 9'4. IMO The Wedge requires good leg snap to get the best snap out of turns This is only theory... I need to get an 8'8 to see if that changes the equation. I have a lot of hopes for the Wedge, but so far it has eluded me (with moments of brilliance!) The best advice I can give you at the moment is: Go with the SP25 I ride my 8'8 at 220 lbs... so adjust your size to that. If you are under 190, consider the 8'2 If you are a full on ripper and young..... step out and get the smallest Wedge you think you can handle. Yes... it is, but I pulled a 5 hour session that day and my hips hurt for a month (I was 240 lb at the time - 109 kg) I have gotten better at small boards and I wish I still had it!
Right now I feel the 8'8 SP25 is simply perfectly suited to how I surf.... I am totally blown away! BUT.... I use many other boards on any given day, based on swell size and conditions, It's been small and clean this week, so I surfed on the 12' Pointbreak, 9'5 SP25, 9'6 Kanga and 8'10 Placid
