hey, great video but I have a problem with obs, I do everything you say and then when I hit record and play my game, I check the footage and it's only recorded like 10 seconds of the game screen it was on when I pressed record (for example the pause screen or main menu) This happened when I tried using EZvid software too and I don't know why? Please help!

So strange how RUclips recommended this 6 year old video lol. Although, I actually found this video interesting and helpful because I never thought to record my mic with OBS and then mute my mic shortly after 😅 so hopefully this’ll make syncing MUCH easier.

Wow now that's pretty cool! I currently use Samson G01U Pro for the mic as well as C922 Pro Stream camera from Logitech, but I don't have the best knowledge in editing which I think I should definitely prepare for.

Is it bad to use video screen capture and game capture in the same scene in obs? Cause i can see it's possible to do it. Help please? Thanks!

Hey Bernie, I'm trying to get started with a let's play channel and a question I have for you in regards to all this is, when you are in the process of recording a game, do you listen to game sound through your speakers? Does your microphone not pick up all the sounds coming out of your speakers? Do I need to use headphones? Any help is appreciated!

Couldn't you just ask obs to record the sound with the Blue Yeti and also record with the blue yeti at the same time.
So you will have 2 similar sounds files that you could sync very easily with the soundwave.
Like, if you clap you will have a soundwave pic on both files and so aligned them in premier and voilà!

I am planning to make video's basically talking about experiences and I was wondering what Microphone should I use in combination with the c920? Im going to use it with my laptop and would like a sitting on a bed setup or so. I don't want it to be obvious that I have a microphone in front of me.
Any help would be greatly appricated thanks.

Ok, I have questions. When you first brought your clips into adobe to edit, did it make a copy of them, so that you have a backup? Or was that the only version of your video? If I'm going to make a let's play without the webcam video of myself, while first starting out, is the process still the same for the audio of the commentary? And if I'm understanding this correctly, you open the game first in windowed mode, and then open the recording software, turn on the external mic, go back to the software Then make sure the game audio is turned up, go back and turn off the mic? Or sync it (things have started to get confusing). And while you are playing the game, and talking into mic things are being recorded. And then the confusing editing process starts.

Also are headsets with mics useless? Or are they good for hearing the game when editing? What are they good for?

no it creates a reference to the video. so if you delete something in premiere, you delete the reference, not the actual video file

yes, but you can record directly in OBS through your mic input

i only sync that way because i have 2 separate feeds (face cam and gameplay) i use the vocal sync to make sure I can line them up in the video editor. that way im not shown reacting to something that hasn't happen in gameplay or vice versa.

no, there are some very good ones out there. most of the time, a yeti mic will sound better than a headset mic
