It's tricky to compare the capabilities of the Flutter Ponies to the Breezies because there aren't really any perilous situations in G3 (aside from the waterfall).
Also, the Breezie world in FiM needs a name.

Basically Flutter Ponies are the size of Regular Ponies and have Butterfly-like Wings instead of Bird-like Wings like the Pegasi, whereas Breezies are small Fairy-like Ponies that are closer to the size of rather Large Insects/Archnids, both are completely different species of Magical Equines.

I thought that Rarity's wings from the Cloudsdale episode from season 1 was a reference to Flutter Ponies. So there's that.

I like Morning Glory she is my favorite Flutter pony and it’s a shame Tiddlywink, Tra La La and Zipzee didn’t also make an appearance in G4 I like those three breezies

I knew about the breezies but I find flutterponies quite more interesting it is sad however how they made breezies pointless in g4 and I hope they make more episodes of them or at least mention some more info of breezies but what I also think they should do is make an episode about the flutter ponies themselves it would be interesting to see how children and/ or people to know things that happened from the past generations of my little pony.
also I think Hasbro is trying to mess with us of how they call whatever they do on the toys themselves compare to what is cannon to the show (i mean seriously diamond dazzle tiara?) besides let's not forget there are three alicorn toys we never of heard before and we never seen them in the show except for one but it ain't the exact pony but have the same parents and that is skyla. over rall I'm just going with the flow of how it goes :p.

yeah the differences seem to differ depending on the writing and art team at the moment.. Also the toy line isn't always telling of the show in any way.. If you talk about the show and the story line it is best to pretty much think of the toy line as its own separate entity.. they might have some similarities to the show since they are technically meant to sell toys.. but mostly they don't..
the sad thing about futter ponies toy line though is that the early ones that actually moved their wings were easily broken and the chances of finding one intact and not have rebuilt wings today is pretty slim..

I like to think that flutter ponies and breezies as fairies and pixies, sure they look the same but pixies are shown to be small while most fairies are shown to be big
