Hi! So I hate to ask but if you enjoyed the video, you can buy me a coffee! It really helps me out on Ko-fi.com/durkerino :) (I'm saving for a good mic instead of the abomination I have now, it's better for my confidence and a lot better for your ears!)
i know alot of people say i miss the "old league" and yea i kinda agree because man i miss the nights i would stay up till 3 or 4 in the morning on a school night playing with people who would become close friends and some strangers over time. the community was a little toxic then back in the early 2010's but its night and day now with the community, But god damn it i love this game
Absolutely. Life continues but the memories stay, and even if League ever dies; I hope the universe and community that Riot built outside of the game never do.
Maybe I'm just a total sap but this video made me really emotional :") I've been playing League for almost 10 years now and it's always so moving to hear someone talk about the good ol' days and what exactly brought us all to this community in the first place. Thank you for this - and I, for one, would LOVE to see a video gushing about Riot's music
Beautifully said!! Despite its flaws, I really love this game, especially the lore and music. I know the lore is confusing right now, but I'm really excited to see the new direction it's going in and that they're trying to make everything one cohesive universe. There were a lot of things that weren't consistent, like Legends of Runeterra didn't match up with the actual canon universe, Arcane didn't make sense, etc. With Arcane being Canon now though, along with all new and future Riot content (like Song of Nunu, new Legends of Runeterra releases, etc.) being canon, I do really think it will slowly start to come together, and that they will find a place for all champions in the lore (including ones that don't technically exist currently haha). :)
Aaahh thank you so much! I'm so happy this video reached its target audience :) And you're absolutely right about the lore. I'm happy Riot is fixing (or trying to) the world they've created to make it one cohesive story :)
For me personally, leauge used to be a chill game you played with ur friends from middle school or high school. People would still talk shit and rage, but having fun was the main aspect. Today, leauge isnt for me anymore casually at least. Its more competative. Silver players are playing like Diamonds did 10 years ago. Thats why i still play leauge, for the ranked. Because I love how much more strategic it got and harder. But at the same time I hate how much more less fun it got. Feels like an EA game, you open the client first thing you see is billion battle passes, bundles, skins, discounts...so yeah. This game is "fun" if you are a chill person who dosnt care and plays for the pretty skins and can go 0/10 in blind pick and still have fun, or you are a competative person that enjoys climbing ranked. But most players are in the middle, where they play ranked and want to be challenger, but are hardstuck gold cause only winning is fun for them. And thats why most players are so toxic today. I think you either gotta choose do you wanna not care about ranked and have fun, or genuinely treat this game as a hobby or a time investement studying the game and improving. If ur in the middle ur probably gonna get addicted and think ur enjoying but ur not.
Shii- I totally agree with you and I didn't think of it this way, especially about the part where silvers are playing like the olden days diamonds and I think it's because of the insane amount of pro guides online. But yeah I agree. As someone from the point of "I have fun because idc" side I didn't think of the other side really. I think you hit the nail on the head with this :)
I do really agree and it’s amazing to hear the sentiment from others. I know people go off on league for being like gambling with lots of quick dopamine hits, but pretty much every time I have a bad experience in league it’s from the toxic community, not the game itself. People forget that half of the players in any game have to lose and I really think that if people cared more about having fun than winning they would find the game so much more enjoyable. You don’t have to buy in to League in the same way and have the same relationship others do. That’s not to say there’s not still shitty stuff riot and the game itself does, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t also fun and joyful things to be had, and so often people focus on the former to the point of forgetting the latter.
League suffer from being really good at 2 completely opposed things. First, its an e-sport so yes the game is hard to learn, near impossible to master and involve playing vs other humans which means games will always be hard (in ranked due to the mmr system) and/or random. An esport is like a sport. At first you suck at it then you practice, you yet decent at it and it becomes fun. Its a learned skill. Thats one aspect. The other is quite simply the godly character design/characterization/storytelling/world building etc. Riot created around the game which causes a lot of people who'd never play a game as competitive as LoL to it, so they try it, have a bad time cause competitive gaming isn't their thing then label LoL as spmething horrible when in fact it just wasn't for them.
As Arcane is now cannon i assume Warwick will get a visual update and i pray they do not do it. I much prefer his design with the elongated wolf face, not Vanders.
He got his VGU already. He looked like he does in Arcane cause his transformation wasn't complete. There was hint he survived the blast so i imagine regenerating from it might finish the process.
I don’t think that’ll happen to be honest. Linke said in his Necrit interview they chose that due to it being much more emotional to see the human in Warwick for arcane, but that it was very specifically for Arcane. Plus they literally made an Arcane Warwick skin
@@joao_aka_pato No I *am* understanding. Summoner's Rift used to be when the Institute of War was still canon. It hasn't been for years. What I meant in my video and I might have worded it a bit wrongly, is that certain things that came from League of Legends cannot be canon anymore after Arcane Season 2, for as in my example; Blitzcrank. Because of Arcane Season 2, a lot of things that are in the GAME League of Legends, and not in the 2013 LORE from League of Legends cannot work anymore. That is what I meant.
I think the video was great content and I loved the sentiment overall, but as a random internet bro, I have to tell you -- Put some dang real quality recordings on in the background dude... Not this blurry tease of a mess I had to see the whole time, especially if you're talking at the speed you are for your own reminiscing dramatic effect. I found myself feeling either annoyed that the quality was bad (even checking my settings to make sure my internet wasn't the problem and it wasn't) and then making myself speed you up to 1.5x to get through it cuz while I REALLY wanted to listen to the great content and even the decent format you have going on, it was mildly frustrating all at the same time. I think your mic quality is fine and passable and not really that much to worry about unless you're just dying for it. I think you should just work on the speed of the video slightly (like 15% faster speech even) and then have quality background distraction to help with internet brain-rot damaged fellas like myself and I think you've got some fantastic content to put out there. Please continue and adapt cuz I believe in you and I look forward to future videos. :)
Thanks for the feedback! Like you can see on my channel, I'm new at this whole youtube and especially editing thing, so feedback like this is important to me! I'll keep experimenting to find the right balance between it all. Glad you enjoyed the parts you did, and hopefully the next video will be more to your liking! Again, thanks for the feedback! It only helps to make the content better :) Oh. And thank you as well for not being just like "Quality shit, bad video", but actually giving me constuctive criticism!
I love the League lore, I love it's world building, I love the music, I loved Arcane, I love everything that the creative team is allowed to produce; but, as of now, by any means League of Legends deserves the popularity it has. Riot just started caring about its lore because Arcane did good. Before that, everything had to be related in some way to getting money, usually in the form of skins. Legends of Runeterra is not getting any funding because it wasn't making the money targets they were expecting, so instead they're choosing to do a TCG with poor quality card designs using art straight from LoR to profit from the success of MTG and the Pokemon TCG. Same with 2XKO with fighting games and the MMORPG which god knows when it'll come out and how shitty is it going to be. Heck Wild Rift gets more love than League of Legends because it probably makes more money due to it being on mobile. League of Legends is a cesspool from which people get in and don't want to get out. It's becoming a place where it is expected for people to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars in cosmetics that used to cost 20 to 30 dollars at most. It's a place where people want to see an imaginary number go up or down because it gives them gratification for something no one other than themselves will care about unless you're the best at it. League's own developers endorse the toxic mentality and playstyle by also including emotes that mimic the most famous and trending toxic behaviours. I have friends who say it's their favorite game and see them feeling miserable if they lose, trying to get out by uninstalling but getting back inside over and over again because someone close told them to play league with them. It's like an addiction, one that takes a lot of time and energy without giving anything worth while in return. It's extremely predatory. The worse part? There don't want to get out because they fear change, because they'd rather stay in something known to them rather than starting over with a game they have no skill in. There are many other healthier games you can play with your friends. Supervive just got out and it's great for people like me who liked League of Legends but hate the ecosystem, Deadlock offers a great MOBA experience while being way more action based than League, and just today Marvel Rivals released and straight up said "You know all those toxic FOMO strategies from other companies? Fuck em. We're doing this our own way without being predatory". Seeing these other products getting out, I've actually been playing games that feel like League; but instead offer an entertaining and rich experience. I've had fun playing PVP games, I've been enjoying playing videogames again, I've had the chance to play other games I had never played before. I encourage everyone to stop playing League for a month and try any other game. Heck try convincing your friend group to do so, suggest them a new game, try new things together, see if anything else sticks. I guarantee you'll start seeing gaming in a very different way.
check my playlist, the game is riged! my friends irl flame me despite the fact they cant crack diamond cus the game is rotten and awful like that! it forces 50% winrate! plz check, new is coming out, its going viral!
"despite all this I keep coming back because underneath the frustration there is something magical about league those rare moments when everything just clicks" You are describing gambling you're not paying money you're paying with your sanity and still funding it, like I am sorry to be the asshole on the positive twist video but just give up league be happy, there are countless other things to experience that will bring more joy and be way more valuable than a game about 10 people who hate eachother because each of them got shouted at by a kid three games ago
/mute all No more toxic. Seriously though; I mostly meant the frustration to Riot Games and their way they are handling things. I genuinely do enjoy League of Legends. If people are absolute utter dickheads, there's a mute all button you can press, or just get 5 friends together and play like I talked about in the video as well! That's what makes league fun. :D

Yessir, got that feedback and will do! :)
Ambiguity and depth is one hell of a drug aint it?
New champs are broken to start because they have to find their way into the meta
They killed Riot Forge 😭
Point blank exectuted it🥲
As Arcane is now cannon i assume Warwick will get a visual update and i pray they do not do it. I much prefer his design with the elongated wolf face, not Vanders.
Yeah I agree, the Arcane design worked for arcane because non-League players need to be able to recognise Vander

🥲
Yo, you studied game design in the Netherlands? Breda? 👀
Yes in the Netherlands, but not in Breda!
That first line describes what every league player feels, the addiction even if it’s the worst game ever
"I've been playing League every day for 10 years and I'm still not addicted" - Some addict, somewhere, probably
The thing with Arcane being canon isn't really a problem. Actually, League of Legends hasn't been canon for years..
No true, but almost all champs (except like Shaco and Cho'Gath) are canon
*[SPOILERS FOR ARCANE:]*
Blitzcrank isn't canon anymore for instance.
@durkerino you're not understanding. The wild rift isn't canon anymore. Like, the 5v5 isn't part of the lore anymore
@@joao_aka_pato No I *am* understanding. Summoner's Rift used to be when the Institute of War was still canon. It hasn't been for years.
