One thing to note, anytime you clinch without a setup their just gonna move out the way, I’ve experienced it myself and I got countered with a roundhouse. So the best way to get in a clinch is to allow your opponent to just do the work. So supposedly their gonna do a cut kick or a roundhouse the moment you see the kick close the distance and you have him.
Thank you sir I just joined taekwondo I'm so nervous especially because I'm really thin and have bad balance, I watch your videos for guidance to be better in Taekwondo. I don't think my coach will expect much of me because I'm still young but yeah and Allahumma Barik
Great video! I feel like you should try jiu jitsu or wrestling, or mma training. Your taekwondo looks very powerful and the footwork looks impressive and effective, learning more arts would definitely help take you taekwondo knowlegde to the next level. Just a suggestion tho.
First ones are always like that! Just know that there are a ton of people in the exact same tournament who feel exactly the same way too 😆 best of luck to you! The experience is always so insightful
How about in the case where you can’t reach his head? I have a guy in my division who is at least a good 20 centimeters taller than me I am around 172 cm he is around 190. I physically can reach his head and it is a pain because he only has to worry about protecting body shots.
Well the short answer would be to capitalize on scoring off of the body. The harder answer would be to train harder. I had one friend who is 160cm and he would score head shots on 190cm guys (he could jump really high though) he’s in some of the older sparring videos on my channel
Tdk has become really biased what I mean that the only prefered body type is the tall ones and the most used Kick is the cut kill it's literally become trash
Could you do a clinch tutorial? (Kicks in the clinch, movement in the clinch, etc)

Don’t worry about what others think. Just focus on yourself and your progress at your own speed 🙏

Protect your face!
You right, I had that learned from experience
Can u use your shin or upper legs
You can but it won’t score in tkd. It’s fine for kickboxing, Muay Thai, mma ✅
@@HwarangSam ah thanks what are the rules on punching like
For Olympic taekwondo punches are allowed to the body but only heavy punches will score. There are more specific rules on scoring punches though
@@HwarangSam ah okay
@@HwarangSam another question if u were to suggest kicks to learn as a beginner what would they be
Imagine that girl kick on his two bell🔔

Kick Me In My Face Girl.❤
