I do have that in my Honda also I actually use it a lot it's a great option and I would hope that I could get a radio that would have that option to calculator great option thank you
Did the truck already have a backup camera factory installed, or did you install that after market? If after market, did you have to find a compatible camera that works with that particular radio?
What are you thoughts of replacing the subwoofer speaker for an after market one using the same box that came with the truck? Just replacing that speaker and probably the amp
It wont hurt but the stock box is so small there are not really subwoofers that will work well in that enclosure. I added a 6 inch bazooka sub behind the driver's side rear seat that works much better than the stock sub.
Thanks for the detailed post and review! I actually decided to buy this same radio based on your videos. Did you have buy an adapter for the steering wheel controls?
Watch my first video that is linked in the description. You don't need a steering wheel control adapter. It's all built it to the stereo. You just need to connect the right wires and go through the programming. It's all in my other video. ruclips.net/video/4mJKSxRTtDY/видео.html
Thanks for your videos. I just installed this same unit in my 2013 Ridgeline. In your first video, you demonstrated hooking up the existing Aux jack, which I did. Does it also work with this new Joying unit, and if so, how do you have it connected? I spliced two RCA plugs into the Aux wiring, and plugged them into the L-In and R-In jacks on the back of the radio. But when I run the Aux app from the Joying, it says there is no Video signal, and therefore doesn't play. How did you manage to get it to work?
How’s the head unit long term? I’m debating between this headunit or one from Alpine/Sony. This one seems to have a lot more functionality and better bang for the bucks but reliability is a huge question mark for me right now.
can you make and receive calls through the Android Auto (Car Connect) or do you have to be connected via Bluetooth? Is there an external Mic, can you use the existing one in the vehicle, or is there only a mic on the head unit?
It comes with an external mic that you can hook up if you want or you can use the internal head unit one. For calling to work correctly just like any Android auto stereo you need to also be connected via Bluetooth. But you can control the phone functions via the cable only but it will only come across the phone.
@@JackofAllMasterofNone Thanks for the reply.. I have a front night vision camera with my ridgeline like to find a unit that will do GPS split screen along with it. Also like how u have installed the connector to set up for steering controls which I have a Sony radio but had to have the remote attached.
You just push in to release the gear shift without having to press the brake pedal or have the key turned on. There is a plastic cover covering the mechanism.
Has anyone successfully connected the HFL phone steering wheel buttons from an RTL? I saw a couple threads on the ROC forums saying that the wires are at the DVD unit and Bluetooth module but I'm not sure there's a way to connect them without a SWI-X or how to connect them to that
What green antenna wire? The stereo has an "ant.con" blue wire that connects to the factory antenna amp wire. I'm not familiar with any green antenna wire. www.joyingauto.com/blog/post/joying-head-unit-connection-diagram-of-power-cord-and-av-cables/
@@JackofAllMasterofNone Oh, I'm color blind so I thought it was a greed wire. The wire I'm asking about is the one connected to the antenna adapter I purchased.
Excellent video. My 2014 RTL has the OEM nav unit and backup camera. Any chance you found it is possible to wire the camera?
Same here. Isn't that a double din screen plus a single din cd player and more controls under it
Calculator is a MUST in an entertainment system imo.
funny enough my 2006 ridgeline has a calculator in the stock entertainment system

Just used a generic aftermarket camera. The are all compatible. Composite RCA output. Powered by 12v
How much do you charge to do this, I have a 2009 Ridgeline
Wow.. Deleting your contacts is bad. Great video. Still looking to replace my OEM GPS on my '14 SE
Great video an job. But this installation let the the original controla un the wheel unconected?
No. It's connected and working.

What wire did you use for the remote wire for your amp? Was it the “amp-cont” wire? Also did you use the “back” wire at all for your backup camera?
Yes the amp con wire is to power the amp turn on wire. The back wire was connected to my backup lights to trigger the camera input.

It does say no video but does play audio on mine.
So old school with this no CD's anymore correct??? Is this hard to use ??

These are excellent stereos. Not the cheap crap you find on Amazon for 100 dollars. I removed a Sony to install this stereo
@@JackofAllMasterofNone This one seems really nice with the volume knob. Were you able to get the built-in sub to work with this unit?
@@ThanhPham96 I replaced the built in sub with a 6" Bazooka. You could make it work, but you would have to add an external amp for the factory sub.
What is that compartment next to the Hazzard button used for because mine has a cord in it and I have no clue why it does
Just storage.
Good good demo! Thanks!
I need to know about the plug-ins on the leftside plug-ins
Would you use a 1 Din dash kit for this new one or did you like the 2 Din better?
I had to cut the double din open as seen in the video so I would definitely start with a double din kit.
Can you pls suggest a head unit ? I use 2007 Honda Pilot i just want a good quality head unit. TY

What's the brand of the Radio?
Joying
Does it fit Hoda ridgeline 2007?
Did you need to modify the dash for it to fit or does it just fit in the original dash
I modified the dash kit for the stereo, but not the dash itself.
How did you get the dashboard back on when the screen is larger than the whole of the bezel ?
The screen clips on after the dashboard is installed.
I'd like to know if that's possible you can store that in my Ridgeline thank you my friend thank you
Like the video on ridgeline joying radio installation doe the radio have a split screen like GPS and front camera at the same time
With the joying radios you can do split screen on certain apps but I do not know if the front camera would be one of them
