    There IS a way to avoid overflow underneath nail. First place a paper form on your finger. Then do the lazy girl method. Cure nails. Remove form and flip hand to cure underside of nail. Dont forget to wipe alcohol underneath tip! Form keeps underside nice and smooth! You're welcome 😊

    This set is so pretty! My biggest problem w the polygel is definitely lifting, even when I prep well. I'm gonna try it next with the beetles gel "nail glue" bc that's my usual foolproof adherence.

      Thank you so much!
      I would honestly keep playing around with your prep method! Do you use dehydrator and primer? I’ve always heard YN protein bond is really good to keep nails on. I recently started using a set of bond and primer and it honestly does seem to make a difference in the lifting!
      If you do already use both, it could also be maybe the brand of products you’re using or even that your nail makeup isn’t suited for polygel.
      I have tried literally everything and gel polish on my natural nails doesn’t last more than a few hours. I’ve came to the conclusion that my nail makeup isn’t suited for it 😅

      @maddieschulz3537 3 года назад

      @@KCNails I was just on the YN website yesterday and was defending considering getting their primer. Usually gel (hard and soft) and acrylic don't have too many issues sticking, but I really want polygel to work so I can encapsulate glitter! The only thing holding me back from using hard gel for the lazy girl method is the tedious removal... ofc soak off would be preferable for lower maintenance removal. Thanks for your recommendations!

      @@briannas1852 buffing and using the beetles "nail glue" worked really well for me! Since this comment, I've also learned how to sculp with polygel, then hard gel, and I use the same method but it lasts even longer- appx 3 weeks. The sculpting just allows me to get it so much more precise around the cuticles. Highly recommend!

    Very pretty….I love the foil application, I find that it is a game changer to a mani and is so easy to do!! Great tips as far as removing some of the bulk around the cuticle. I will usually not only use my efile under the gel tips to etch the area where my nail bed will be, but I also use my efile to buff down the top of the full cover gel tips near the cuticle before I apply them because it removes some of the bulk before application.
    Question…..is there a reason why you wouldn’t use the cuticle bit to remove some of the bulk before you apply your top coat, that way you don’t have to reapply the top coat?

    • @KCNails
      @KCNails  3 года назад +1

      Thank you!
      I have also just recently (literally like one manicure ago) started filing down the cuticle area or the edge of the nail tip before applying it in hopes it helps the thickness of my nails.
      I have noticed some of my manicures lately are seeming a bit thick so I really want to focus on improving my work.
      Honestly, the reason I didn’t file the cuticle area before applying the topcoat is because I recorded this video a day or so after applying them. I typically have a VERY short amount of time to do my nails at night so occasionally I “rush” things along to be able to have nails that don’t irritate me (aka, no top coat) until I can fix any issues I may have on my nails.

    Do you abrade the jelly tip for lazy girl method, either just over your natural nail or the entire tip?

  • @qt_stacy
    @qt_stacy 2 года назад +1

    having your e file at a higher speed prevents having to put any pressure onto your mail. you should just be able to glide your bit across your nail with no pressure whatsoever. i think it was pretty clear you were having to put pressure on the tips

    Mine keep snapping at the free edge of my natural nail. Do you think it's the polygel brand? I've tried thin layers, thick layers, cured for 2 min, but they keep snapping. Any help would be much appreciated🙏

      Sorry for delayed response! It sounds like it’s a structural issue. Try researching and learning about the proper way to get your apex correct ☺️
      In my personal (unlicensed) experience, that happens more often when I overfile the sidewalls. Or lack of apex (the bump) meaning the nail was too weak and snapped under pressure

    I did the lazy girl method and had long stiletto pointed claws. Lordt! I couldn’t do anything with the bad boys. Fever hit me last night so I snatched them off. Lol! I want to cut them down but how do I do that and reshape them to medium stilettos?? Does your nail have to be long for it to look right?? I’m a beginner and watching a lot of videos to learn.

    • @KCNails
      @KCNails  Год назад

      Hey! Lol I can’t function with stilettos 🤣 I’d be stabbing everything.
      You can either:
      1.) take nail tip cutters (or regular nail clippers) and cut it down to the length you want, then file the corners in to get your shape..
      Or
      2.) if it’s not too much length you want to remove, you can alternate filing the sides until it’s shorter.
      I have seen people with short stilettos, honestly I would suggest to search for pictures of stilettos at the length you want before doing it just to make sure. I personally don’t like stilettos when they’re shorter than a long length, but that’s just me!

    • @KCNails

      I believe there is a way to clean out the hand piece, you can take it apart (I did this accidentally when I first started) there may be tutorials on here for how to clean it out.
      I’m not exactly sure what she did but one of my nail friends had her drill stop working because of the dust, but she managed to clean it and get it working again.

    Is there a certain tip of tip that you use? Or can you use any clear tip?

    • @KCNails
      @KCNails  2 года назад

      You can use any clear full cover nail tip for the lazy girl method! I personally find that the gel full cover tips work better than the plastic full cover tips. They adhere better to the polygel and don’t pop off as dual forms do.
      Of course you can file the inside to prevent that if you only have plastic ones
