    I've been doing th lazy girl method for a minute now :) based on the apre dupe.. I put together my own kit off Amazon for around 60$ that's like prep/prime, tips, lamp, drill/ bits, polygel, gel polish, nail stamp kit, and random nail art junk :) I haven't been to the salon in around 3 years lol

    • @SwalesNailsBeauty
      @SwalesNailsBeauty  2 года назад +16

      Honestly! I done the same myself! I havent got any of the big brand kits like kiara sky, apres or 123 go etc, I got everything off amazon also and I think it works just the same, just without the brand name! I'm so glad it's saved you some coin in the last 3 years! 😁❤

But flash cure the gel for a couple seconds, then apply the gems, and that should prevent the slipping of the gems, or reduce the amount of slipping. Cheers

    I have been doing my nails for 2 years now ,nsince 2020 when the nail asalon's shut down from covid " I use the lazy girl ,method all the time. However I use to just build a nail from scratch with a nail form but not the dual form. I feel like I am spoiled from the lazy girl method now..... At the moment I am trying to learn the acrylic style maybe someday, but if I do I will take Suzie's class From "Nail Carrer Education" who taught me about the LGM. She has a channel and has been teaching how to do nails for 30 years. I think she is the best in the biz.... However i always like to watch something different .... It gives me idea's . I am sooo confused! I thought the lazy girl method was different, where you use the full cover nails in place of the dual form and put the poly gel directly to your nail and put the nail on top, let the gel expand. Then, clean up any spillage and cure, and pop off like a dual form. The difference is that you’re not filing as much.

    • @SwalesNailsBeauty
      @SwalesNailsBeauty  3 года назад +22

      Hey hun, yea a lot of people get confused with the two method because a lot of people do use full cover nails instead of dual forms nowadays, but the lazy girl method is the second method in this video, created by femi beauty, like the dual form method up until you've cured, then you leave the nail on the extension and it becomes apart of the nail 😁 no filing it required unless its the sides and cuticle area, buff the shine away just for the top coat and you're good to go 😁❤

    My polygel REFUSES to stick to my base coat, and those clips are really tight. Is there a better way to get the non-cured gel to stick?

    • @SwalesNailsBeauty
      @SwalesNailsBeauty  2 года назад

      That's very odd! Are you sure you're using the base coat and not the top coat by mistake? I ask because its a common mistake some make, because the bottles are so similar lol, I'm not a fan of the clips myself, so I dont really use them, only when doing ombre and French tips, make sure not to do the nails too thick as it can prevent parts from curing through and also, make sure your lamp is still curing, sometimes the lamp will seem like it's working but not be curing at all! 😁❤

    I love this video! Is primer necessary if I've applied dehydrator? I don't understand the difference between the two.

    • @SwalesNailsBeauty
      @SwalesNailsBeauty  3 года назад +1

      Thank you hun! Um, personally Dehydrator&Primer are essential to my sets, its what makes your nails last longer, Dehydrator takes away any dust and oil, primer helps product adhere to your nail which makes them last longer, some people don't use them but I would suggest yes because it does make a difference 😁❤

      @@SwalesNailsBeauty Thank you for your response. I did polygel nails for the first time Sat night, but didn't use a primer. They started popping off on Sunday evening. I did use a dehydrator and base coat after scuffing my nail beds a little. I'm not giving up yet though! Lol

    Hi, is the dual form nail soft at the tips? Once I did mine they were bending and soft.

    • @SwalesNailsBeauty
      @SwalesNailsBeauty  2 года назад +1

      Hey hun, polygel is soft when it comes to filing but it usually holds up and is strong on the nail, you might have made them too thin hun, it takes some practice to get use to dual forms, keep trying ❤

      Hands down, makartt, modelones, yayoge, saviland (their older polygel, not the newer ones), coscelia, ive never had a problem with any brands really, apart from some polygels being really sticky or soft, which isn't my personal cup of tea 😁❤

    To take off the lazy girl method, do you have to use a drill? I don't trust myself with a nail drill, so I stick to soak-off options. I'm still really new to poly gel (I've only used it 3 times now), and I have lots of trouble with shaping them after the dual form comes off. I would like to give the lazy girl method a try, but I can't drill them off

    • @SwalesNailsBeauty
      @SwalesNailsBeauty  2 года назад +1

      Hey hun! LGM you can definitely soak them off, you dont have to use an efile if you're not comfortable! By all means use a hand file to remove the top coat and some of the thickness and then soak off in Acetone like you would any other nail extension 😁❤

  • @PBandJessii
    @PBandJessii 2 года назад +1

    For the "lazy" version near the end, are you using nail glue to make them stick or are you just using some of the polygel and curing them again? I'm confused

    Crazy question since I haven’t tried the lazy girl method yet, but I can’t wait to try it. How do you soak them off since you’re leaving the mail form on the top? Thanks I’m advance

    • @SwalesNailsBeauty
      @SwalesNailsBeauty  2 года назад +2

      Not crazy at all! I'd cut them down and then file them down to a thin layer, then soak the remainder in Acetone 😁❤️

    Hi, so so new to this, but so far, the duel forms I’ve bought, when doing them, and applying and ready to take them off (non lazy) the. Seeing videos like this, what forms should I get, cause to me I see the form and looks better when popped off, filed, buffed and top coat, mine have like lines in them? Or I’m doing something wrong? Are there ones that are just sleek and no lines? Not sure what I’m missing, the forms seem nice even trying out the old school paper sticker thing to form without duels, but now sure how I see keeping on the duel form when they look whack! Just a form that lazy to begin with beside those paper sticker forms? But all and all I’m having fun and want to do my nails daily! But found omgosh, it’s been 3 weeks, did a fill, and I’m new to this, and they are still all original! I know I can take them off the proper way and start again for more practice, but loving that the first time I did it, 3 weeks later I’ve only broken one nail, and that was due to my own long nail under breaking, and a thin spot so it broke, and started over, but man, so new to this and only got to do my nails once so far! I guess I did ok and now just need to fill or fix as I go! But wanna try new stuff! :) so not sure how this works, cause my forms are easy to pop off once cured and also don’t look nice, look nice under once popped filed and top coated? So I’m confused at these lazy girl video! Even yours was a long watch and didn’t see what or how they stay on let alone how yours looks nice? With a form on top?

    • @SwalesNailsBeauty

      The lazy girl method and dual form method are the exact same, only difference is that the lazy girl method, you leave the gel tip on for added strength, the dual form pops off, you use a gel nail tip in the LGM but a dual form with the pop off ones, I hope this makes sense? You just have to keep practicing and you'll be a pro in no time 😁❤️❤️
