In rain I think it would be preferable to leave the flaps folded to one side on the outside, so as not to allow any rain to find its way into the floor area of the shelter. A good cost effective shelter for not too windy locations all the same. 👍🏻
Any very easy to put up
👍👍👍
You are getting more theatrical with your entrances! If that pole is 6ft what height are you???😂 Great vid!👍
Lol
Nice, that thing could fit a football team in it lol, great video! Bruno is the tarp hound for sure!
Lol, he loves the tarps
Awesome, Exactly what I was hoping for. Definitely will be purchasing a DD 4x4 now. Thanks for the great demo and thanks for the shout out. You are a true tarpologist!
Lol, cheers buddy
Dude,
I love your videos man. Keep it up. I purchased the 4 x4 DD Hammocks tarp based on one of your videos. Not this one. However, that being said, this was the video that I was looking for.
Maybe.......without the use of a center pole, a ridgeline could be set up with two prusick knot loops. Attaching the center loop of the tarp and using a prusick knot loop, one to the left and then other to the right off the center loop to be rid of the center pole. Therefore opening the entire tipi tarp tent open. No pole. The reason being, as my imagination runs, is that the DD Hammocks lightweight A Frame mesh tent could be installed inside of this tipi tarp tent. Me personally, I would not care either way. However, the girlfriend, would require a mesh tent from the flying biters that seem to be attracted to her like white on rice. A video or videos with DD Hammocks or derivatives of a mesh tent in conjunction with these DD Hammock 3x3 or 4x4 would be spectacular.
Also, I liked the bakers tent video and with the 4x4 was hoping to incorporate the DD Hammocks a frame mesh tent under that.
Your thought would be welcomed.
Again great videos and I learn much from them. Keep it up.
Oh or possible instead of Ridgeline on the tipi tarp tent is to throw a line over an extended tree limb and tie off on the center loop of the 4x4 and either tie off on a tree or stake it out. Thoughts on that would be appreciated too. Maybe a video as well.
Thanks again. I hope to hear from you with your thoughts and ideas.
Regards,
Scott
all those would work, i generally just go out and playt around with stuff until i find something that works
I love it, this looks perfect my family would love a weekend in one of these.
It's massive
I use a cut open tennis ball as a pole cap, works every time.😀
Great idea
It's huge.
It sure is
That looked like a 4x4 was giving birth as you walked out 😮
I’m looking at going 3.5 x 3.5 for my 11ft hammock. So making that size into a tarp tent would hopefully be just as comfy as your 4x4.
Lol
Looks huge compared to the 3x3s in this setup. I have the 4x4 DD tarp and have been considering what configurations may work well in conjunction with the DD pyramid mesh tent. This one would be great for allover cover however the pole would be too tall for the mesh tent. Perhaps if I made a slight floor with the tarp it would reduce total height and allow for a shorter pole so I could use the mesh tent inner
That could work, good idea
what kind or brand are those first 4 pegs?
Unsure , they came with an ex army tent I got
