Hi Nate, thanks for your video and all your work. I tried to sign up for Moomoo, but it's asking for some info with limited options of countries for ID issuer etc. Can you advise on that?
Good point, but it is easy to get sucked into the intense health industry right now. So be skeptical of purchases that are costly but “for your health” whereas they most likely provide minimal benefit. I simplified my nutritional supplement purchases a lot to a few core supplements that can be found affordably.
@@NamezzemaN I agree. Most people will see great results with consistency in 3 things: diet, exercise, and sleep. That's really all you need, any supplements provide negligible effects compared to the big 3.
Another good tip is not buying the latest gadgets. Why spend $1000 on the latest phone when you can buy a phone for $200 that does the exact same thing? That's an extra $800 that can be used towards investing, or put into a savings/retirement account
I never buy the latest phone, I'll do with mine until it dies, then buy an older model because they're still amazing (and a lot better than my old phone that i used for years by default. I'm not envious of people who have the latest Samsung galaxy or Iphone, I'd just be scared to drop it x'D or have it stolen. No one wants my Samsung Galaxy S10 edge!!!
$200 for a phone if you just use it to call and text. Phones nowadays are pocket sized computers. No need for a TV when you can watch everything right on your phone. Watch a movie, take a call, check email, scroll on social media-all on one device-its beautiful. So I can understand spending an upwards of $1500 for the camera, processing power, battery, ease of use, security features, screen resolution/durability, cool features etc. The problem is people who spend that kind of money on a phone every year when there are no justifiable upgrades from the previous generation.
I love the library comment. Our library has a cricut vinyl cutter, a sewing machine, a serger, 2 3-d printers, and an x carve which is a small cnc machine for cutting wood in their makers studio that are all free to use!
Love the advice as it pertains to investing too. 1. Wait 1-3+ days after researching before getting into a project->if you want it now, you're probably the exit liquidity of early buyers 2. Not making decisions when fatigued/emotional->wait until you're feeling gooood to make great decisions 3. Say no to "meh" or "kind of good" opportunties->go for the best ones that you're excited about-this will allow you to focus your energy/resources
Simplifying areas of clutter in our lives is my favorite - it reduces decision fatigue, mental clutter and expenses. The intentional pause and waiting 24-48 hours is also helpful when we fall into shopaholic behaviors and one-click purchases.
Agree on the car for cities, however for people that would need to turn a 10 minute car ride into a 30 minute bike ride, opportunity cost, and cost of time starts to become an issue. None the less, a great list Nate!
Agree... not to mention riding your bike when it's freezing cold outside, really warm, very windy, raining or snowing (if it's a long distance). Or there could also be some days when you are really tired and you are not really up for a 30 minute bike ride. If you can choose between car or bike, I think using your bike is a good idea to keep in mind for some specific days, but not necessarily as a daily means of transport. Anyways, great video by Nate, as usual!
A bike doubles as exercise. Also, depending on where you live you can get places just as quickly on a bike as a car if you know how stop lights work and different short cuts. I can ride my bike home without coming across a single stop light and arrive just as quickly as someone who drove.
Wow, these are truly some minimalist ideas! But I like that you're playing into the psychology of things, and I LOVE that you're recommending ditching the financial advisors! Buy into the S&P and don't touch it until you're ready to retire is probably the easiest way to be profitable. Thanks Nate!

I water down my orange juice, all juices actually. It goes further. I buy bottled water, but at the store I shop at you can buy 3 in a box. I noticed (by looking at the label on the shelf) that it's actually cheaper to buy 3 single bottles. Basically, by buying 3 bottles in a box, you're paying for the box. It isn't a deal, like most people would believe. More work to lug them in, but I just put them in the old boxes I've saved, and it saves 20 cents or so. So make sure you pay attention to those labels on the shelves that tell you the price per ounce, etc...
I like my caffeine but only drink tea. The teabags are about 1-2 cents a piece so even at multiple cups a day, I'm good. I don't consume alchohol at all, more for my health. I also use free Pandora/Spotify while running outside. Generics are great for the most part. Thanks for the great reminders.
Also want to mention that tool libraries exist in a lot of US cities, so if your family or friends don’t have the hedge trimmers (or hundreds of other tools) you are looking to borrow, you can rent them from a tool library for free!
Thanks for the tips, Nate. For a person who lives in Russia it’s unlikely to save 30.000 USD😅 But anyway, these tips are relevant for most countries. One more tip I can advise is to buy products wholesale with a group of people (friends, relatives, neighbors etc). This can save money as well.
Another tip is to unplug any unused items like if you're not using a lamp, then unplug it, even though it's not on it is still using electricity. I've been able to cut my electricity bill in half just by unplugging everything when I'm not using it this also includes chargers that are not charging my items.

For the laundry detergent: even cheaper is to get an eco egg with mineral pearls. Here it costs 17 euros and it lasts 210 cycles so for about a year if you live alone.
I’m a truck driver and I can tell you a lot is store brands and name brands come from the same factory
The one about financial advisors deserves much more attention.
My insurance pays for two free dental exams a year. Since dental cleaning is so important, for one’s gums as well as teeth, my dentist charges me $42 for just a cleaning. So I get my cleanings in between my scheduled dental cleanings
So true about bottled water. Complete waste of money and the plastic bottles are bad for the environment.
Vit an D is so important and it is difficult to get enough especially in winter. It’s one of the best vitamin supplement to take to increase one’s immunity. Do your research
I love how straightforward your videos always are 💛 A little pizazz isn't bad, but man some channels are just all flash and then I wasted my time waiting for the valuable information 😂 Great content, Nate!
Dry powder can gunk up after awhile. If that happens switch back to the liquid for a bit.

Yup, bottled water should be avoided big time! It's wrong on so many fronts. Great tips! Tnx!
I am from Romania and I get you. People don’t even make 30.000$/year here. Let’s not talk about saving 30.000$/year then 🤣
You’ve inspired me to level up this year and achieve greatness
wish you success brotha
Great vid Nate! Always watch you. Make a live stream someday!
Another tip is to unplug any unused items like if you're not using a lamp, then unplug it, even though it's not on it is still using electricity. I've been able to cut my electricity bill in half just by unplugging everything when I'm not using it this also includes chargers that are not charging my items.
24 hour rule… I usually make it a 6 month rule 😂 if I haven’t forgotten about it and still need/want it then I might get it
Very smart
I'm only 16, but I already know more about investing and money management than a lot of people thanks to you! We appreciate your content more than you can imagine :)
P.s I'm going to the bookstore to buy the Intelligent Investor, as you recommended in one of your videos. I'd take it from my school library, but they don't have such books.
Top Tip for saving money. DO NOT spend your money.

Good luck finding any Canadian a cellular provider that has a plan for $30 a month unless your plan consist of no data, or doing oil changes in -30c weather. But other than that, solid advices!!
