It was okay for me. Like I said, the expectation was something else based on the trailer. So I didn't get what I expected and that was overall disappointing
Your entitled to your opinion, but one of your points is flawed and made you come to an innacurate conclusion . Fury Road shows furiosa trying to find her way back to the green place. Mad Max Saga is a prequel where It shows her getting taken away from there and how she becomes part of the citadel and an imperator. Her mom in the trailer telling to her remember her way back does not mean that is what the whole movie is about, but apart of her story and this is the beginning of it. People that have seen Fury Road know that.
You made a great point, however I was basing my opinion on the how the trailer portrayed the movie. And the trailer stated that she would spend her entire life trying to return home and that this movie was her odyssey. Watching the film without the trailer or any expectations would have been a better experience for me personally.
It seems like you really dislike the fact that I am not supportive of this film. And that's okay. But I supported my points very well. Feel free to watch it again for clarity.
I deleted my post because i think it sounded harsh. And it was in the middle of the video so i guess to answer a bit of it. Yes she was dedicated to finding her way home. Keeping track of her location with the tattoo on her arm. She made an actual run to escape twice. Once when hiding under the war rig after stashing supplies and then meeting Jack. Then jack made a deal with her to exchange what he knows which will hopefilly give her the skills she needs to make it home. Then she tries to escape with Jack. Is it also a revenge story? Yes. Dimentus is responsible for everything that went wrong in her life. His gang kidnapped herm he kept her in hopes that she would eventually tell her where she came from. He tortured and murdered her mother and forced her to watch. He tried to basically make her his child. Even gave her a little nickname and a teddy bear which we can assume belonged to his children who were probably also killed in this world gone mad. He basically traded her into s slavery. It was obvious her and jack started to have a thing and during their escape which destroyed the bullet farm he basically tortured and killed Jack infront of her. Thats 2 loves lost. He took everything from her. So ofcourse once that happens again she is going to want revenge. The ending with the "we dont know what happened". If you watch the older mad max movies you kind of realize these are basically just mythical or legendary stories from the wasteland. Road warrior was basically a story retold from a feral child. I didnt see a disrespect of max. He was only in the movie for like 5 seconds. He was the guy on the hillside watching everything. I think its just a big complex world and story that can be hard to understand. I guess my ego kind of got in the way with my last post. But there are also things i do have issue with this movie. Its just not so much of the things you questioned because i felt like there were clear answers to. So maybe that 1 guy was right and you just didnt connect to it
@@4411825 idk. i get not liking the movie. but as far as questions asked. i felt like they were all pretty obviously answered in this one and Fury Road. ofcourse she isnt going to go home in this one. she goes home in Fury Road.
My only problem with this movie is the cinematography. The cgi sucks! There are plenty of scenes you can really tell it's all done in green background 😩 unlike the first one it all looks raw. But other than that the story built up, not much of exposition, fight scenes and acting are all superb👌
@@LIVE-ki9td The cinematography sucks ? Couldn't you tell what was going in their heads during the Bullet Farm Ambush ? Most of Stowaway stunts are actually real. They did explode a glider over the truck. They did the suspended truck scene for real, only the background and the wheels were CGI...
89% on rotten tomatoes. In what world the movie wasn't well received ?... People didn't go watch it. Its not they didn't like it, they didn't go watch it. She does try to get home for 80% of the movie actually. Its the death of Jack that triggers her blind thirst for vengeance. When they got caught, they were on the way to her home. But yeah, the movie isn't about her trying to get home, the movie is about how the world can break anyone with its cruelty. In Odyssey, the kinda same stuff happens : Odysseus wanna go home but a bunch of stuff happen, including a vengeance. So Odyssey isn't used just for her journey but directly because Furiosa movie takes inspiration from the greek story : the Trojan Horse tactic is a clear clue of that. But I understand what you think about Furiosa being too quiet. I wish I felt more for her. I could tell whats happening is sad and desperate but I had to wait until the Ambush scene to really feel something for her.
If you rely on rotten Tomatoes in 2024 I cannot save you 😂 lol jk jk But seriously there is more to deciding if a movie is good than a critic's rating.
@@blackmavericktalks Its up to each one to decide a movie is good or not. But the sentence "the movie wasn't well received" when movie ratings are high doesn't make sense. If the flop must explained, the reasons are outside the movie itself because people who watched it give it good ratings.
Is your comment more about you feeling some kinda way because you liked the movie and you saw I didn't? Because I was very clear about why I felt the way I felt. And if you liked it, that's okay. But you don't have to be upset because I didn't.

I did some research on the film, I read the canon tie-in comic, and I love how it all tries into Fury Road and the whole saga. I saw it twice at the movie theaters.
*spoiler alert* I just watched it. The bit I didn't get is that no fuss was made over her cutting off her own arm which had her map home on it... It just seemed like they must have thought about this and had filmed some mention and focus of this, but must have been lost in the edit.
Pay attention to the goon near the truck when Dementus comes check on her. With what he does, one can understand what happened and why its not shown by the movie.
@@Demystificator I can't be bothered to go back and check right now. But I was paying attention when I watched it, and I think that either when the truck crushed her arm, or when she decided to cut it off, then it should have shown that she was crossing a pivotal point, in that by losing her map she was saying that she chose survival and/or vengeance/hate over the hope of getting home. Of course, if the truck crush had ruined the map then fate would have made the decision for her.
@@neoepicurean3772 The truck crushed her arm and made the map unreadable. The goon cuts her arm off as he holsters his blade when Dementus comes. As she goes to the Citadel after losing her arm, I don't think she's in a survival mode, she's desperate and that's why imo, she feeds vengeance and from that point till the end of Dementus, she won't be thinking to get back home, she lost hope.
