After this review, I had no choice but to buy this book (and to subscribe to this channel), it reminds me so much of the few trips I've been able to make to Disneyland since about 1969. I love the history of Walt Disney, Imagineering, and Disneyland -- if there is magic in the world, it certainly includes all of this. Thank you!
@@Imaginerding I don't yet have any specific titles in mind. I am looking for a really good biography for Walt Disney on my Kindle - the experiences that helped make him what he was, his innovation and creativity, and his ability to take risks and see what others did not are quite fascinating. I would like to catch at least a minute spark of that creative fire. Beyond that I've started to be on the lookout for things that pertain to him, his artists, and his Imagineers as they relate to building the parks and their overall creativity. So far I've collected a few other books along these lines: Disney Animation: The Illusion of Life The Haunted Mansion: From the Magic Kingdom to the Movies Maps of the Disney parks : charting 60 years from California to Shanghai One Day at Disney Pirates of the Caribbean: From the Magic Kingdom to the Movies -- Updated Poster art of the Disney parks Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas Walt Disney Imagineering : A Behind the Dreams Look At Making the Magic Real My favorite to date is Walt Disney Imagineering. By the looks of it my friend spectacular Disneyland book that I'm convinced I want pick up this one for sure a lot of detail and beautiful stunning pictures of the park can't wait to find it and pick it up
Thanks for the review of this book George. Have been debating whether to pick this up. While the pictures look amazing I'm wondering if this would be the best book for me... I'm interested in the best blend of text and pictures showing the history of the park. Have a picture book "Disneyland Through The Decades" and while I love the photos I found the text rather bland. Do have "Disneyland Than Now and Forever" and love the text and photos. Now that you have had a chance to read the text would you recommend this as the best book for me? I also grew up in the 80's and wondering if there might be a better book if looking mostly for great pictures/text focusing on the 80's?
