Walt Disney as an artist is inspiring. The way he just makes cartoons and movies such a joy to everyone was amazing. Nowadays in 2024, his legacy, even during the 100th Anniversary in 2023 has been tarnished by people who don’t understand him, the characters, or the stories he created.
Well, all of that's going to change once I get a job at Disney. I'm going to honor his memory and legacy through the Disney movies I'll make. I won't let his legacy be tarnished any further!😡 Those big-shots who tarnished his legacy are going to pay big time! They're going to heavily regret the day they did Disney dirty!
@robinlindberg6339 🙄 YOU do your research. The rumor that Walt was a Freemason has already been debunked. Also, there was no evidence that he was a Satanist!
The interviewer is a crass tosspot. Not to be unexpected on the BBC these days, but definitely unexpected back when the interview was recorded. Walt just sailed right past the man's ignorance. "That's just Punch and Judy", said with a smile.
Walt Disney died in the 1960s in his mid-60s and the Jungle Book was one of the last films he was directly involved with. Disney as an organisation then crashed for the next 20 years before they started getting things right again in the 1990s. I wonder how the box office would have fared if Walt lived on for another 20 years, into his mid-80s?

I still own the old original Walt Disney dvds, which I still watch to this day! My goal is to one day work for Disney to figure out and find a way to bring it back for everyone to enjoy with amazing animation. A beautiful story with especially its opening, middle, and then lastly beautiful ending music that will spark that light with goosebumps that I miss! That is a goal I want to achieve for the future!

It's difficult to say if he was an ideological Anti-Semite. There are indeed Anti-Semitic depictions in Disney cartoons from the 30s specifically in the three little pigs cartoon. There are also documented instances of him mimicking a Yiddish accent to his Jewish employees. Some of his former employees stated that Disney would send his assistant out to get to know the ancestry of his new employees and the assistant would often frown or roll their eyes if the employee said they were Jewish or had Jewish ancestry. Whether this was indicative of Disney's personal views or just this particular assistant is up for debate.
