    I have tested a bit with Windows 11 IoT Enterprise, version 23H2 (not the LTSC) in a Virtual Box, and it adds all the additional bloatware as well, just like it would do in the Customer version of W11. It looks like it will not do that if you specify Enginsh(World) as the region, which will install only a couple of apps, just like in this video.

      You will need the skus from the full version. And then, if you want to fix Windows Security, you will need the full ISO to perform an in-place upgrade. Little tip for yall, "Wintoys" ;) Just dont touch the services part because you will disable something that is "safe" but will maybe later cause you a headache if you forget such as the printer service. Microsoft wont release something like this to the public. Business have their version, OEMS have one also with bloat. Both those are supported by microsoft and OEM version is subsidised with telemetry and stuff. Not enough people build computers to warrant a version for them all the support needed to be provided would be costly, no incentive to do it. They used to have one with "paid" upgrades, but updates are free now to the next version of windows so don't.

  • @MaybeTiberius

    been there done that. i was using 10ltsc for the past months but i am going back to regular w11pro. i like the idea of ltsc but in my experience its just not worth it. on modern hardware, the performance increase is minor at best. you deal with slightly less bloat but as a tradeoff you introduce other problems. yes in theory its cool that a windows version is stable and supported for long but the issue is: software developer will force you to regular update regardless. For example adobe blocks me out and wont let me install the latest versions of programs i use because they think my windows version is too old.
    and the main purpose of my pc is: that i can do all the stuff i need.
    trading minor performance and slight annoyances are not worth the tradeoff in usability. and i cant be bothered anymore with finding tradeoffs or workarounds to get stuff working. i could somehow get 11ltsc to get a temporary solution but what in half a year, i ll have the exact same issue again.
    so as a final verdict: is ltsc a good windows version? yes. its super stable. but is it a daily driver for most people? no

    Ever since support ended for 7, I have only used 10 LTSB/LTSC. Currently on 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 21H2 and will run that until 2032. These Enterprise editions of Windows are the only ones that can be reliably tweaked to respect your privacy and not bother you with useless feature updates. They are the closest thing to good old 7 you can get. Not gonna comment on how I got them but let's just say Microsoft at this point absolutely doesn't deserve anyone's money. They have turned the regular Home/Pro versions of Windows into bloated data-gathering spyware OSs that nobody should be running. And it looks like things are only getting worse with 11. I would switch to Linux today if software compatibility wasn't so terrible.

      They provide the ISO files for free on their website. So by sharing the ISO files, you are actually saving resources as well as the cost for Microsoft.
      The piracy comes into picture, when you are activating the Windows through non-official channels.
      However Microsoft doesn't care about individual consumers. They want us to pirate (If we can't afford to pay for it) and use Windows OS only. They want to keep us away from Linux at all cost.
      So people are only familiar with Windows OS and when we will start working in a corporate or enterprise environment, those businesses will have no option but to use Windows OS, because their employees are only familiar with Windows OS.

    • @Knoah321
      @Knoah321 2 месяца назад +1

      In short, Microsoft makes it money from Corporate and Enterprise customers.
      And Microsoft is extremely strict about corporate and enterprises using genuine copies of Windows OS. They can even take legal actions against the businesses using pirated copies and it is actually worth it for Microsoft to sue such businesses to get larger amount as legal fines.
      Suing an individual customer won't get such return, so Microsoft will end up losing more money to even sue a customer, because corporate lawyers charge a lot of money to fight such cases in court.
