Saw the show last week in the west end and loved it even more than I expected! I actually cried during the introduction of all the cast members since there were some sad stories. I’ll definitely watch it again when I am back!
My sister loves this show, so much so that she bought the whole family front row tickets to watch it in Melbourne (in Jan 2020). She was hoping our Mum would get brought on stage at the end of the Piña Colada song, but instead she did! They handed her the drink, and during the 500 Miles song where the Maestro is playing the piano and picks up a pint to down it while playing with one hand she chose to down her drink, a few of the guys in the choir thought it was hilarious.
I love this show! I saw the US tour in January. I loved it so much, I went to their second to last stop. And I was the audience member they picked for 500 miles!
Sam ebenezer is so bloody talented and to be quite honest it's amazing to see him on the west end hes from the same small town where I live and I have grown up and he has got so many young people around here into theatre
Have seen the show 7 times s far, and will see again whenever I can. So much fun and such talent on that stage! I was picked to go on stage and do the card scene - To Dream the Impossible Dream song. It is so fun to talk with the guys on stage, while getting the beer before the show starts. They are just wonderful people and incredibly talented.
I took my 13 year old daughter last evening, Very last minute decision…..brought tickets in the morning, then travelled from Manchester to London to see Les Miz for first time (absolutely amazing but drained)….. Choir of Man…..amazing incl for my daughter who was the youngest there…..and absolutely bonkers ! …..having not watched your review or trailer. Am curious if “prior knowledge” would undermine a future return
I saw it during its first west end run with Ben on for Poet and he was superb! One of my friends saw it this year at the Fringe and also mentioned it being shorter so I guess that's just the way it is at Fringe. Shame the on stage beer isn't free anymore but guess its worth it for the on stage experience alone. X
I saw the show at the Edinburgh Fringe this year. I definitely think they run a condensed version at the fringe as when I looked at the cast recording there were several songs at the end of the album in particular that were definitely not performed when I saw it. I agree that I think everyone should go and see this show but unfortunately I don’t know if it was just the performance I was at but it was just mobbed by middle aged white women who really made the most of it being immersive (I think they saw a poster for a show with 9 very attractive men on and that sold it to them). I hope they can do more to market the show to other men who may not go to the theatre but I think they would really benefit from seeing this, in particular the discussions of mens mental health and positive male friendships!
Sigh... I'm not at all saying that I wouldn't enjoy this show, but I am getting seriously weary of the continuous parade of "jukebox" musicals that rely on pop songs for the musical numbers. Between that and the flood of movie to stage musical conversions, I feel as though the creation of truly original musical theatre productions is being actively discouraged. Also, I don't like beer either, so there's that. Also gay. Go figure. 😏
It has the same vibes as going to a Rocky Horror show, or something like the Hull Truck theatre productions , like Bouncers , in which the audience has more than just a stand off and observation role, should they want. Which make it a superior experience IMO?
when I went we had 10 people on stage because there was the poet but at the time he wasn't able to sing so there was someone who came on stage and sang his part (also we had an exploded crisps packet)
I found this show very musically polished and the songs were brilliant! However, I felt it was far more aimed to the females in the audience (would suit a hen-night party) and slightly ignored the males. Although this was the last run and this may have changed now?
Saw this yesterday and I can see why it is so popular. Great singing, good chemistry between the cast and sweet story telling. It's essentially a juke box musical though so it turns of originality is a bit lacking but you have a great time while there. A fun evening out.
I didn’t. None of the characters were well drawn or explored. Token gay. Token person with dwarfism. No representation of women at all other than those dragged up on stage. Some great vocals on stage, but it stopped there for me. The hen parties seemed to be enjoying it however.

Discovered this show at West End Live 2021 and it became one of my favourites! It arrived when I was at my lowest and managed to cheer me up!

One week from tonight I'll be down to London and will see "Choir" for the 3rd time! Cannae wait!

Yessss!! Been waiting for this one! Absolutely loving your channel lately ❤️
Thanks!

I like how you say “glass mug-ography” like that’s a thing that we’ll all know what you’re talking about 😂😂😂
Saw this show for the first time in Oct….going back again in Jan! Absolutely loved it!!! ❤
We saw it on a cruise in November and totally loved it
Loved it and went away thinking it was going to inspire people (who have never thought about it before) to join a choir, or simply sing with friends

It's really hard not to enjoy if you watch it for what it is. I went in with arms crossed and a frown and came out smiling (the beer probably helped).

yes! i loved choir of man and i even caught the walkers crisp packets
You were THE CHOSEN ONE!
My friend was original cast (from fringe to west end) and stitched me up during pina colada!
If you had any intel on the &Juliet Bway transfer I’d be very interested to hear if it has changed in any way from the WE version.
I've seen Choir of Man three times this year. It's such a feel good show. I'd love for it to tour at some point
It just finished a UK tour a couple months ago, it ended in the Edinburgh Fringe! We performed in Coventry as well!

Hey - wow - I was at the same show. I think you were in front row of the circle!
I was!

Dying to be in London right about now :(
44 seconds? Earliest I've ever been!

Saw the choir of man at fringe this year and it was brilliant. Felt like they had to cut part of the show though
Only a couple of songs, as there was a time limit on how long we could be on stage!
@@Lewis_Bennett ah thank you 🙂
OMG!! I hate beer .... I
I feel you on not liking beer Mickey Jo! I hate the taste/
I saw it and I thought it was brilliant (and I hate musicals)
Can this man speak a sentence without slighting some group other than himself? Awful. Those who preach peace are the best at hate.
@@qwerty69600 lol, what did I say?

Token person with dwarfism?! What a wildly insensitive thing to say.
