Aeron inhaling that peanut butter cup is one of the most adorable things I've seen LOL. I'm also SO HAPPY he was able to see Ragtime with you. Naturally I'm also insanely jealous but that's expected 🤣
Seeing a place that's within driving distance from me through the eyes of people vacationing there. I need to visit more places in NYC and amp up my appreciation (especially as a theater lover)! It's very easy to long for trips that are far away (like the west end) and discount the amazing things around you (nyc). :) It's also so flipping adorable watching you both experience everything.
So sad that the NYC vlog series has come to an end, but excited for more videos to come about your thoughts on Broadway overall and how it compares to the West End. Also looking forward to more travel vlogs in the future (I very much enjoyed the Paris ones, too) and maybe even a return to Broadway someday! I'm currently planning my next Broadway trip and possibly my first ever West End trip... Thanks for all the fun stagey content! Cheers!
It was so touching to see how emotional you got watching Ragtime. I am so upset that I missed that production and this concert. I am not even going to begin to discuss thst peanut butter cup. I think i gained weight just watching Aeron eat that.
My friends say I give major tourist vibes. I look like a tourist but I don’t act like a tourist. I have a friend who doesn’t look like a tourist but acts like one.
I loved your New York videos, so much. I disappointed you had to leave, but that is a trademark of a great vacation. You were able to do so much The only two things I was disappointed in were not seeing Matt Doyle in Little Shop and Reeve Conner in Hades Town in curtain calls. I love you and Aeron finishing each others sentences.
So glad you enjoyed NYC. It is also fascinating for me to see my hometown through the eyes of tourists. I am really looking forward to your “Sweeney Todd” and “New York, New York” reviews. Those, along with “Hadestown”, are the shows I am most interested in seeing next. My sisters and I are looking to go to “Sweeney Todd” in June, and praying that Josh Groban does not get sick again.
Me and my husband saw Hadestown a few weeks ago for the first time and it was absolutely incredible. I didn't expect to leave the theater loving it as much as i did!
@@Aiviloangel - I ended up seeing “Hadestown” last night. Enjoyed everything about it, except Orpheus. Reeve Carney cannot sing or act, and his vocals were nasally and grating. Which caused the character to come across as annoying rather than endearing. It was such a shame, as the rest of the cast was incredible and the songs enjoyable.
You had me crying too when you talked about Ragtime after the show. Also, I am not sure but I think Funny Girl was the only show you didn't talk about after it was over....hmmmm. I guess I will have to wait for your review to see what you both thought! So sad these NYC vlogs are over but I will watch them all again!🥰
The most amazing were when I could tell you were experiencing dreams of when you were being overcome by emotions. Thank you for sharing this trip with everyone Oh, Aaron is adorable! ❤
I am so glad you enjoyed your trip to NYC! Could you discuss in a video about how you guys budgeted/saved money to stay for two weeks in New York as it is quite expensive. As always love your content and can't wait for the next video.
Ragtime was, by far, the best theatrical experience I've had in my entire 67 years. I saw it in its first tour back in the 90s (I think) in Denver. While no members of the original Broadway cast were there, some of the touring cast went on to join the Broadway company as replacements, including Alton Fitzgerald White as Coalhouse. Like you, I cried throughout the show and have listened to the cast recording more times than I can count. A truly amazing show.
I've really enjoyed these NY vlogs, it's been so interesting seeing the differences from London and you can tell how much you two were enjoying yourselves! Thank you for all the effort you put into the videos, they've been so much fun to watch! Also Aeron with his peanut butter cup was just adorable! He looked so happy
I have enjoyed your New York theater vlogs. You really got to see a lot of shows on this trip to NYC! And Aeron got to eat a really big Reese's peanut butter cup!
All Broadway theaters I've ever been to have been unbearably uncomfortable, and walking up & down way too many stairs required to go to the restroom. I'm 68 and have too much difficulty walking to go to a Broadway show again. I think it's a shame none of them can afford to remodel a bit.
Thanks for sharing, glad you had a fab time. 😅 look at Aaron face eating the butter cup. Have to agree that the outside of Moulin Rouge looks better on the west end. OMG yes do a meet up in London (the theatre cafe? Or somewhere else before a evening show)
Greetings from New Rochelle , NY. I've really enjoyed your vlogs. Aeron pronounced it correctly, btw. Reminds me of the joke, "How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Lots of practice." (rimshot)
What a thrilling last bit of your trip. Shout out to the random guy doing jazz hands behind you on the street because it felt very in theme :) I always find it interesting when shows "allow" curtain call videos vs "don't" but that's a subject for another video. (IOn tour I've only been waved off to stop once by the conductor at Aladdin when I was front row which was a bit weird) Looking forward to whatever surprises you have cooked up & maybe your next trip to the US will be a bit less hectic so you have a bit more down time to just take it easy.
Apparently, Disney is very strict about taping the curtain call. Pretty sure, the only reason “Sweeney Todd” is allowing it, is because showing Josh Groban on stage is free advertising. He is the major driving force behind the ticket sales and price. Same with “Funny Girl” with Lea Michelle.
@@ChienaAvtzon I had heard that about Disney just found it odd because there are things that are a "rule" but aren't enforced by those in the production unless it's a danger to the performers (ex bootlegs) & if it was such a big deal after they did the playoff they could of easily turned around to say not to share it/not allowed but said nothing even though I did film the rest of it. I saw Frozen on tour almost from the same seat & nothing was said to me at all. *shrugs* it's like the actors who signed during covid when they were told stage door wasn't allowed because they didn't want to be screamed at these things are only serious when someone actually wants to go through the effort to enforce them.
The rule on Broadway used to be that you couldn't take photos or videos at all, even before the show started. They pretty much stopped enforcing that once we got to the point where everyone always has a phone with a camera with them, though.
going to NYC for the first time next week, seeing Peter Pan, Sweeney and Hadestown...this video almost killed me! Your videos from NYC are amazing for a theatre nerd who is planning a stagey trip!
The perfect soundtrack to their last (5K) vlog: There are worse things Than staring at the water As you're posing for a picture After sleeping on the ferry After getting up at seven To come over to an island In the middle of a river Half an hour from the city On a Sunday
Glad you had a wonderful time! I would have loved to see you at the meetup as I had been in NY myself that morning but needed to catch a train home. I have greatly enjoyed these vlogs and am so glad I found your channel.
Mickey Spillane was a writer of "Hard Boiled" detective fiction. His most famous character is Mike Hammer (who is, basically, America's Sherlock Holmes). Although the character has been adapted to multiple plays and movies, he's not yet been in a musical --- maybe someday.
As a New Yorker of twenty years, I loved all of these. I worked in an office in Times Square for seven years, and there's nothing like walking past the Elmos and painted ladies twice a day to make you wonder why on earth anyone ever goes out of their way to be there. (Pro tip: If you cultivate a proper New York facial expression and never pull out a camera, they'll leave you alone. That expression is "I *will* bang right into you if you get in my way.") So it's lovely to see someone else get so much enjoyment out of it! I forget how special things here can be! Also, I am dying over your description of a black and white cookie.
Oh my gosh! Thank you for the hour long video of your broadway escapades. Am so Shrek green with envy but happy that you kindly shared it here with your mate Aeron. Cheers from Perth, Western Australia
Aeron saying his hands are icebergs on a boat literally had me cracking up. All the titanic reverences came to mind. Thank you for that laugh and for sharing your wonderful journey with us!
Enjoyed going to the theater with you two, thanks so much. I am so jealous that you saw the Ragtime Reunion concert. I was out of town and couldn’t go. One of the my all time favorite musicals. I saw the original production 3 times and as often as I’ve played the original cast album, I still cry, too!
Looks like you both had an amazing time, thank you for sharing this with us. I now have to remind myself that I’m saving to buy a house so a summer trip to New York would not be a financially sound move right now.
Than you, thank you, thank you for this awesome video.Thank you for sharing the shows and the views of NYC,Central Park and the Broadway district with the theater’s façade.Broke my heart because I miss it so much.Last time I was there,2005.Love you guys from Brazil.
This has been an incredible series. I'm so happy and jealous of you and Aeron were able to see the anniversary concert of RAGTIME. I'm going to do my best to see most of the shows you saw when I'm in NYC at the end of June and July. It'll be tight scheduling and I know I won't be able to keep up with your schedule. Also the BROADWAY MUSEUM is a must. How many hours should I schedule for the tour? You've mentioned a lot of great places to eat. Thank you again for sharing your wonderful trip.
It has been a joy to see you both on this side of the pond and enjoying Broadway. I have loved watching the nyc vlogs and seeing you pass all these familiar places and enjoy the theatres, food and sights. I certainly hope you will be back and this was just the start of your Broadway adventures in NYC. It has been so much fun to see things through your eyes for the first time again. I can’t wait to see the rest of your reviews and follow up videos. What was the most surprising difference between Broadway and the west end for you? For me I was SHOCKED they served ice cream in the west end theatres! It is such a sticky messy food that would be awful to clean up if spilled and smelly and I couldn’t believe they sold it in these old historic theatres in London. It blew my mind lol the closest I have seen us come in the US was that Waitress on Broadway sold little mini pies in glass jars at intermission in the theatre. Even that surprised me as we typically don’t allow any food and only water or purchased beverages from the theatre bar.
Have loved this vlog series! Moulin Rouge theatre outside definitely prettier in London than New York, having been to it in the West End. I had no idea you couldn't film the curtain call, but then I never film anyway so I wouldn't! When I went it was the charity performance for Teenage Cancer Trust they did last year, and I know people definitely filmed Baz Luhrmann's speech at the end, but I can't remember if anyone filmed the curtain call or not, I assume not then if it's not allowed (though that doesn't always stop people!). I have the grey t-shirt from 40.14, I'm not generally one for buying merch at shows (other than programmes) but Moulin Rouge is my favourite film of all time, so had to get some show merch, and the programme came with the ticket because it was a charity performance! The one time I've been I was right at the back of the Grand Circle and I don't anticipate ever being able to get any closer because the tickets for that show are SO EXPENSIVE. So glad that Aeron got a ticket to Ragtime too, I was way too invested in the days before you went as to whether he would get one or not. I'm really looking forward to Hadestown coming to the West End and have all my fingers crossed that the tickets are at least somewhat affordable because I'm a big Greek mythology nerd and would love to see it.
Same!! Loved that you finally visited NYC and shared it with us 😍 Also, it was cool for me to know I was there when y’all were for a few days (that weekend). Come back soon! 👍❤️
I’ve absolutely loved your New York recaps - I grew up in Canada and spent a lot of time in New York, it’s feeling so nostalgic to see all the places I used to go! :) I’m hoping to revisit this autumn - what were the audiences like in NYC versus how they’ve been in the West End more recently?
So jealous you got to see Ragtime. Tickets were SO expensive and sold out in about a minute. I actually have a family connection to Marin Mazzie, who originated the role of Mother, and was glad to see that he very good friend stepped into the role.
I had planned to drive up from Maryland and see Patti lupone in NJ on Saturday then come to the meetup. I was so sad to miss it but ended up having to work.
LOL Andrew Carnegie was from Scotland where they pronounce it "car-NEG-ee" but the school Carnegie Mellon and the Hall are (usually) Americanized to "CAR-nuh-gee"
Best NY Broadway content in recent months! I go at the end of May. What are your top 5 Broadway musical recommendations? I do have tix for Sweeney Todd already. Thank you, in advance, for your thoughts.
Glad you made it to the Highline. Did you see the Vessel? It’s right next to the Shed. Can you put links to some of the eateries, shops, etc. for those who live in or near NYC? Sounds like an amazing trip.
Specifically, really want to hear your thoughts on Hadestown! When I saw it I knew all the words by heart, but there was so much new stuff visually and directorialy that I got from seeing it, so I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!
How sweet that you went back for more Schmackary’s!! 😋 ❤️🎭🍪 I got 6 cookies when I was there for my birthday on 3/18 and want to go back 😀 Also want to return to The Drama Book Shop and maybe I’ll try the Carolee Carmello 😜
Exactly 30 minutes in, there is a guy walking behind you gesticulating like a maniac trying to get into the shot and now he's all I can think about lol.
Glad you saw peter pan goes wrong. We saw mind mangler and henry and jonathan where saying that they where having to head to america for a bit then back to end tour then back. They where fab and gave my daughter advice on how to end ip in a goes wrong show.
After watching again, I am curious if you left your last show then went to the airport for home. You said you had already checked out of your hotel. Can you get a plane out that late? You all now know way more about NYC than me. I have visited 8 times in spanning over 40 years but haven't done or seen near what you two have in two weeks!🤩
Love this vlog! You seem to be having so much fun😊. I am so glad you went to Peter Pan Goes Wrong. When you started vlogging from New York it was the one show I was immediately like "I really hope they see that!". I am going to see the London Limited run in December. Have you heard any whispers of what the cast might be for that? I can't seem to find any info and I'd love to know if there's any chance/ rumours of the original cast being in it. It's hilarious so I'll definitely be going either way, but I am just so curious if Broadway could become West End again for a short time. I will be visiting New York in October this year and hope to catch my first ever Broadway show, though probably only one with prices what they are 😅. Right now I am thinking of seeing New York, New York. From what you saw, would it be a good choice if you could only see one Broadway show? So glad you are having a blast in the big city!
There are lots of ways to see shows for cheaper, if you're able to be somewhat flexible with timing and with which shows you're seeing. There lotteries, rush, TKTS, TodayTix, and a bunch more that I'm forgetting. It doesn't really work if you've got limited time and want to see specific shows, but if you're able to have a few "I'm going to try to see one of this bunch of shows on any of these several days" in mind, then you can usually get something (as long as the shows aren't the really big ones -- not many discounts for stuff like Lion King, Hamilton, Wicked, etc.)
@@callalily3994 Awesome! Thanks so much for the insight. I will definitely be making a note of those sites you mentioned and looking into their lotteries 😊. I am so excited and would really love to see more than one show if possible, so it is really helpful for me to know.
Aeron inhaling that peanut butter cup is one of the most adorable things I've seen LOL. I'm also SO HAPPY he was able to see Ragtime with you. Naturally I'm also insanely jealous but that's expected 🤣
Missing it quite a bit now… what has been your favourite part of the vlogs? ❤
Watching you talk about the giant peanut butter cup 😘
Honestly, the fact that people have been recognizing you guys has been so awesome!
The drink ratings! And the food updates
After your giant peanut butter cup review, I really wanted to get a ticket to fly to NYC just for that then fly home!!🤩

I only spent 4 days in NYC in 2006. Id love to go back.
So happy for you both that you had such a packed and amazing trip! Can’t wait to see the merch haul video
Excellent timing - I've just posted it!
That man behind you at 30 mins in is everything.
Didn't spot him until i was editing - wish we'd met him, he seemed like a lot of fun 😅
@@MickeyJoTheatre Glad you didn’t lol. Was fun seeing you guys on my street so much, I hope NYC treated you both well!
LOL Andrew Carnegie was from Scotland where they pronounce it "car-NEG-ee" but the school Carnegie Mellon and the Hall are (usually) Americanized to "CAR-nuh-gee"
Did you pass by St Anne's Warehouse while you were in Dumbo? It's where the Oklahoma revival premiered. I was very lucky to see it there in 2018!
Love the guy who welcomed you to NY after Sweeney Todd 😊 he sounded so excited 😊
Best NY Broadway content in recent months! I go at the end of May. What are your top 5 Broadway musical recommendations? I do have tix for Sweeney Todd already. Thank you, in advance, for your thoughts.
Thanks!
I agree with Aeron- it's great that they give credit to the stage management team and not just the promenient members of the creative team
I got excited seeing imelda staunton and micheal ball in sweeney Todd in 2012. It was incredible.
You reacting to Aron being cute about the peanut butter cup thing ❤
😁😁
Meet up ideas hear me out...Sydney, Australia Mickey & Aeron 😂😂 not that far I swear.
My Broadway trip for around the same time had to be abruptly canceled because my kid had a crazy nasty flu, so I'm enjoying this vicariously l.
I love moulin rouge Oyoyo was AMAZING as Satine when I saw her, and I also was at the same performance of New York New York as you and your friend
Boyfriend not friend as he's said several times. Please respect people's relationships
FRIEDMAN'S!! They have a really great pastrami hash.
Ragtime is my favorite dramatic musical God I would've died to be there
loving the vlogs! just wondering if you visited Washington heights in honour of In The Heights?
Exactly 30 minutes in, there is a guy walking behind you gesticulating like a maniac trying to get into the shot and now he's all I can think about lol.
Have loved all this. I am going again in December !
28:25 that is so cute. haha 😂
21 shows?? I’m jealous Lol. When I go to NY I usually see four shows and (non-theatre) people tell me that is a lot.
You guys are the cutest
Aeron loves you so much - the way he looks at you
Glad you saw peter pan goes wrong. We saw mind mangler and henry and jonathan where saying that they where having to head to america for a bit then back to end tour then back. They where fab and gave my daughter advice on how to end ip in a goes wrong show.
Will you be doing a Hadestown review? 😃🥰
What an epic
Peanut butter cup. I want one.
hope we get a hadestown review, I really wanna know his thoughts lol
Meet up in Bournemouth please 😂
I live locally and you should definitely try the digital lotteries for shows when you come. I saw Some Like it Hot for $40 last week.
What did you guys think of Funny Girl and NY NY? Those 2 were my favorites.
Love you Aeron also love you Mickey 😊
Waiting to see wether aeron got into the ragtime concert was so stressful
I thought Niel Patrick Harris is starring in "Peter Pan Goes Wrong"? Was he not in the show?
He hadn't joined yet, he wasn't in the show straight away
29:58, what in the heck is that man doing behind you??
