I am a blind fighting game player, and this guide helped a lot. Very straight and to the point as well as saying what buttons you are pressing. Thank you
I am almost completely blind and use a white cane to walk in my every day to day. I use audio cues for everything. In SF6 the audio pans from ear to ear in headphones, which helps me know where I am. As well as the sounds of the moves from my opponent.
The long awaited Kim Guide is finally out I decided to fully main Kimberly until EVO, so you'll see some more Kimberly footage / tournament runs and tech posted to the channel as well. I believe in her potential. We're almost at 50K subs, so consider subscribing to help us meet that goal! Appreciate the support on the channel over the last couple weeks, means a lot. Also a couple error in the guide, best way to deal with 236K run followups on block is to jump back button, thanks for @1000Tomatoes for the tech/ catch there. Also the best oki after throw is to do walk forward into another throw, don’t do dash into throw, it’s - (used to be + in the beta)
I should also say that to beat jump back normal Kim can divekick followup into EX tastu. Which itself loses to empty jump back block. But if she doesn't ex tatsu she's +6 in thier face. Source: JavyJitty's revised arcstep counterplay video. Also, jump back doesn't work for Sim because his floaty jump. He has to do other stuff. It's in the video. Idk how sim works.
Great guide! Might get some hate for this, but it would be awesome if you could follow this up with a beginners guide for Kimberly using modern controls.
You're the man Diaphone. I aspire to be half as good as you. For now I'm a newb spaz that relishes every chance to beat someone in Bronze. I shall stay at it and hope to pull off some of these upper-echlon combos
I just bought sf6 and Kimberly seems really cool. Since it's been a while since this video was posted, is there something that is outdated due to balance patches or something?
Thanks mr Dial Phone! I have a few notes in case other viewers see this: 3:35 this target combo is -12, you will eat a much harder punish than a jab combo if you do this on block. 15:25 lights go into any tatsu, even heavy. It's your most damaging route from lights but I don't know about the oki. 19:30 you can also go into lvl2 from jMP by itself in case you cant/dont want to spend meter on OD air tatsu. In case other viewers have trouble with doing a normal straight into a super, try qcb+MP, qcb+MP after you leave the ground, since Kimberly doesnt have a qcb+MP special it will just come out as jMP and you will already have done half the super motion. 21:25 dont sleep on target combo into medium vagabond edge! The midscreen oki is great; instant run stop puts you +4 in their face even after backrise. Mixing up run stop low, run stop grab or run overhead is really good I think. It also does the most damage of any meterless ender by a smidge.
Tons of great knowledge, but I have to comment on how amazing all the graphics and transitions are. Your attention to details with using the right fonts, backgrounds and borders is great! Great job on the production.
WTF???????? Yo I know you!!!! I didn't even realize it until I saw your name on the leaderboard!! I'm learning her too! Holy crap it's so nice to see you doing well man!!
This character is drugs to play. She’s so much fun. Something’s I do, - I try to implement instant air Tatsu as a throw bait for my can setups, not sure if it’s optimal but it looks cool. - ex run for wall splat is a little meter hungry but it gives more frames for can oki, has longer corner carry than just slide by a small bit, and opens up some different options like air restands and different can timing stuff. - level 2 super. Level 3 is still better, but you get a guaranteed basic mixup situation after level 2 so it’s sometimes worth it. - medium target combo into DI is funny/cheesy and can catch unaware people trying to punish you because they know it’s unsafe. Still not amazing, climbing from plat to diamond atm. I definitely use medium target combo a bit too much in block pressure. Kimberly is too fun. Cool guide, definitely learned some things to add to arsenal
Fantastic guide, my dude. I’m actually thinking about picking up Kimberly because she just appeals to me for some reason, and I have never played a mix-up character in a FG so thought it could be a nice change of pace. Oh, and congrats on getting 25th at EVO!

I love this guide so so much. Thank you Diaphone, I return to this guide multiple times a week. So far reached up to Gold 2 stars after being stuck at upper silver for a week!
Great guide! I usually enjoy your guides, but I think this one was very comprehensive and polished (without being too long). Appreciate the work you put into it
Diaphone this is AMAZINGLY useful! Been loving watching your kim since the beta. Even with the nerfs, kimberly is still looking so fun. Great video! I'm fairly new to SF but love Kim and this was extremely helpful. The valuable aspect for me was sharing the applications of everything, it really helps me compartmentalize. Everything else I could find is just loose information and actively made me worse, since I was trying things I didn't understand in the wrong situations. Thanks!
This is perfect timing for me. Have been getting killed in rank but just had a good first to 7 in casual that was fun. I use modern controls and am new to SF so still learning the game without just randomly throwing out special moves or auto combos

It's still unbelievable that you can convert her best pokes; 2MP, 5MK, or any drive rush cancel into this.
28:10 you actually can't dash after a throw and get another meaty throw. You have to manually time this. Throw is 17f of advantage and her dash is 18 total frames, so dashing leaves you -1.
@stratfan87 throws are 4 frames I think so you have to be plus3 to make an air tight strike/throw mix For Kim, her throw loop is in the corner Grab, microwalk, grab
Fun thing about the slide kick normal. That does combo is into a full target combo. The spacing sucks because you have to be perfect. But it’s easier to judge after practice.
A little late and I could be misremembering, but one thing to mention about her Level 3 is that she gets the buff even if she misses or it's blocked. That's a neat trait.
If you’re reading this, drop a like on the vid even if you don’t play Kim! This kind of content is so much better than the auto uploaded sets that floods your feed, and it deserves to succeed.
