I’m a hairstylist too. I’ve done this technique before but not on brunettes. It will give them an orangey balayage which is ugly. This will only work on natural blonde hair.
False wet hair actually slows down the bleaching and lifting processes for it reduces the strength of the vilume u used and the hair strand is full of water so penetration isn't as deep
@@LC.1990 I'm licensed, I do, you can use bleach. Idk what you're thinking of, but there are lightener specifically formulated to lift hair. Cosmetologists are trained in chemistry and how to use these chemicals.
@@belle83wet hair is too fragile to apply bleach to, that’s why this video is so uncommon. Of course it’s more porous, of course it will lift, but the integrity of your hair will be compromised. Not certain on the uniformity of the lightening either. Your cuticle will be filled with water, the product will be diluted, the product can’t penetrate as evenly as it would on dry hair…
The only issue I have with this is that when hair is wet it is weaker and more easily prone to breakage as you can see when she combs with the comb that there is a ton of hair falling out into the comb.
When I was getting my hair done back in the day before I started coloring my hair now I a vibrant red that I love, I just color the roots of the yucky grey then the rest is all natural because I have a natural tone of red to my hair. But anyway balayage is the only way to go. I wouldn’t have my hair done anyway else by a hair dresser then this way it’s expensive and double what I normally pay, but it was so worth it because it was a color and beautiful caramel highlights done in a way that other hairdressers were never able to achieve so definitely. This is the way that you want your hair done
Yikes. I agree with the hair being slightly damp for flawless blending but that is all. Rubbing bleach or lightener of any volume in to the hair is INSANE and absolutely promoting breakage and damage. Never ever ever do this.
I'm confused. (I'm not a hair professional) What do you mean by INSANE? Is it bleach & lightener on the hair? Is it rubbing (if so what does rubbing mean)?
I get what you mean the back of her crown still has that Hat shape of brown.... but When you lift and then blow dry the light shines through the hair it seems like a game changer for lifting up quicker I have never done this but been getting blonde color for years its a long process to lift then tone it takes the same amount of time to lift then to tone thats lots of processing and hair can break off from doing that repeatedly.
Bc her hair had toner on it which oxidizes and almost looks black even tho it comes out blonde once rinsed! It’s scary looking, I warn all my clients not to freak out 😂
How long do you have to leave this on for - I understand there are various times.. but my hair - roots - haven’t been done since October 2023, the day before a major surgery - I’ve been concentrating on healing.. but my hai really needs done now - it’s as brown as this clients is - with gray also .. can you help at all please? ❤
This is nothing new. Why do stylists keep claiming old techniques are new? For views? You do beautiful work, I’m not at all dissing your work. I’m just tired of people claiming a technique is new because they’ve never seen it. Even if it is six years old or more.
@@lidialeann9314og comment is right, wet hair is more porous- she even says you’ll get another level of lift, your hair is absorbing more product, creating more damage
@@Mr_PamelaLighting os always damaging to any level bc you’re opening the porous in different levels and striping the nature color off, even if you use a product like olaplex. The natural hair won’t ever be the same since it will be notified, basically. The thing is the amount of damage it makes will actually depend on the condition of the hair, the level of developing, and if the hair stylist knows what he/she is doing (as in: not over lighting hair that hair already been lighten to its highest level already). Nothing is black and white. There are always variables. Lightening can be done with less damage if done carefully and with proper knowledge and technique.
Yes dont do it my way tho. I was bleaching my hair once and decided f this “if miley can i can” and i took SCORCHING HOT WATER in my shower sprayer w bleach on my hair and FRIED! Worse than ever before! My hair!
Balayage is a French word that comes from the word sweep. It’s basically “painted on” highlights, meaning foils aren’t used (usually), so the bleach is painted (or swept) on. But you have to know what you’re doing. You can’t just use a normal bleach powder from Sally’s. It has to be a special kind and you have to do it with someone that has a lot of experience with it so your hair doesn’t over lighten and break or under lighten and turn orange.

I would hate to sit on the sink for ages ot really is painful as a client
It takes about the same time as it does for a toner at the sink

💯It’s not like painting watercolors. This is super damaging to the hair
My hair fell out just watching this
Way?
sounds like you don't know how to do hair like this lady with a degree and license :)
@@belle83 lol 🤦♀️
of course I don't know how to do hair. I do know though that my hair is delicate so I don't use bleach on it.

I like the fact that they do change the hair color, but in the end they change to a different person too 😂😂 (*compare both faces and ears) 😮
Her eyelashes told on her😂
And her eyebrows
I notice when she shakes the hair it filters ash, vanilla, and then she turns around and it’s vanilla platinum.
Highlighting with combs has been around for decades and I am a stylist
Exactly lol RUclips and Tik Tok have people believing they’ve discovered something brand new 😂😂😂
I’ve never seen it and I’ma stylist so now I know
Yep! Me too! And it’s actually the only way I do it and I’ve been in the beauty industry for 28 years 🤗
Yep I do it with box color at home with light blonde works great and cheap!😂

@lillidaisyASMR
It doesn't matter lmao. It's gonna look ugly if your hair keeps breaking off
Want to try this so bad but with only 3 busy bowls at my salon, people would get pissed at me for taking too long😅
The narrator's voice is nails on a chalkboard.

Because it's a balayage.....
You're stating. She has a toner all over her hair and then she's adding the bleach ???

Pretty sure that’s not the same person. At the bowl the woman had bold fake lashes. The woman at the end looks more natural.
Is it shampooed first ? What volume of developer did you use? She lightened super well.

Actually, the hair lifts slower when wet. You have more control during the lifting process

Ther’es a dark spot in the middle
Her hair looks quite fried to me.

Fried
4-6 quads?
To blonde at the ends
Not,! Water slows it down. Takes long enough and you use water to neutralize it if it lifts to fast on dry hair.
While there’s hair in the comb?!!?
No thank you!! 😢It’s excruciating for my neck the hair wash part to holding eternity for the color.
