    197 out of a stock motor is crazy, my boy had a fully built head on a gsr c1, made that exact same thing, he was probably pullin more power mid range but still 197 on a stock motor is really good

    I've been sub-ed since you were working at the house and with 23 years (and still learning) EFI Tuning myself, this video made it obvious
    how far your Tuning Skills have advanced (smooth tables = smooth, happy engine) 👍 And what's more important than that, I know this
    wouldn't have happened if you didn't have both a good understanding of how it all works and "a feel for it" (which can't be taught or bought).
    And thanks for the Chuckles guys, 17:24 was spot on for me because my tables would be Fk-ed up if I wasn't allowed to focus😜

    My sol has a gsr swap with ITR pistons, bc springs, retainers and NA2 cam, skunk2 type r copy manifold, and toda rep header. Nice to see what a similar setup could make. Untuned it feels so gutless compared to the turbo setup🥲. Any recommendations on injectors? I have the id1050s in still from the turbo setup, but getting it to lean up is a PITA.

      You know that cold air intake and solid motor mounts and test pipe gives it 50 more hurse purers. Plus the 1320 stick on the back so everyone knows they're a racer. 😂🤣😂🤣

    @HunterTuned it looks like BoostedNW picked up where moates left off. they make new chip burners, emulators, socket adapters, etc. I think moates had enough and closed their doors last November.

    Any ideas what a b20z1 vtec would make with gsr b18c4 head k20 injectors, fpr, skunk2 intake b16a cams, 70mm tb and small port job.. Is 220hp achievable? Cams would prob help the goal

      I wouldn't say that 220 HP wouldn't be too unbelievable, but the stock B20Z1 pistons would be the limiting factor. If you can get a set of forged domed pistons in 81 or 81.5mm (like the B16A or B18C engines) then 220 HP should be easily achievable with the correct intake/header/exhaust choices. I could be wrong, as the B20Z1 is one of the most powerful non-VTEC B20 engines, but higher compression would be ideal for any NA build. With the correct pistons, head, and cams choices (watch your piston to valve clearance!!!), 250 HP might even be achievable!

      When I built my CG1 Accord sedan I swapped the J30A1 with an auto for a JDM J32A and a 2003 CL Type-S six speed manual with LSD and it made 236 whp with headers, a full AEM cold air intake, and an Invidia single in, dual out exhaust. I put a set of Acura RL cams in it, and I bought a set of eBay turbo manifolds for it, put a Garrett GTS3582 turbo on it, Tial Q50 BOV, FMIC, and tuned on an AEM Series-II 30-6051 standalone on 10 psi it made 502 whp. It was alot of fun, had ice cold AC, drove like a normal car if you stayed out of the throttle, and pulled like you wouldn't believe at full throttle. I also had an EJ8 Civic coupe that had a fully built LSVTEC with a Garrett GT3582R tuned on Hondata S300 V3 and it made 709 whp at 34 psi.

      @@Brock_Landers correct.. I built a b16a maken sub 200hp with ycp ctr pistons and skunk2 p1 cams and it snapped the exhaust cam.. I want to just do a small port job and not open or mess with the b20z1 bottom end.. (i fear bearings in them..) when I rebuilt my b16a i didn't measure a thing with pistons or bearings and slapped it together and it was very reliable for a year then i upgraded the head with the skinless shit and it blew up 😂 just im a diy guy and don't have much special equipment bar the basics.. So im afraid of getting a high comp piston on b20z and having bearing issues

      ​@@Keane-to-cleanwhen using a b series vtec head, make sure you guys are upgrading the lossotion assembly. Stock they are sleeved springs that will catch and not allow the rocker to push down as the cam comes around. So it ends up breaking your cams. Especially if you're going with aftermarket cams with more lift.
      They are cheap to replace and more reliable. If you really want to achieve your hp goal, if it's available to you, go e85. Higher compression helps but if all you have is the b20 it's not the end of the world. A larger cam and e85 will get you there and be safer overall.
      If you don't have the e85 option available, try to go higher compression.

      @Chest_Rockwell B20 bottom end don't have 81mm pistons. They start at 84mm unless you get it sleeved. Which if you are wanting to rev high or turbo over 300 you have to sleeve or you'll crack a sleeve.

      I just get sick of the connectivity issues and certain emulators are not computable with Crome the logging never works I just burn the chip lol

      @@HunterTuned we got a new unit, SnakeV2 that we offer a External install kit with, and it does Ostrich Mode so it will work with any software that an Ostrich2 did, Crome, HTS, eCtune, TunerPro, ETC

      There is no doubt there, but I also wonder if it is worn valve guides. These b16 heads are getting pretty old. Obviously, it has good compression. I think if you are not on the tight end of factory tolerance, you smoke on full throttle or vtec.

      Hondas have very efficient combustion chambers where an old school V8 head may like 36-38 up top these tight efficient chambers rarely need over 30 degree.

      Poor mans type r can be any bottom as long as u got itr cams n internals.. it can even be a b16 block with itr internals, then a b16 head with itr cams, its just only good for boost tho cause it lowers the compression to 9.7

      where im from poor mans type r was always b18 block from base integra or b20 block from crv with any be series vtec head. Anything else wasnt poor even a b16 vtec or gsr was pricy at the time.

A b18c with a b16 head can be considered a poormans type r to but it gotta be the jap spec type r block from japan, not the jdm gsr, its different. But i dont really care if yall call it poorman type r were your from then thats wat yall call it
