- On this episode we find ourselves at Jimmy Oakes shop in Connecticut! Jimmy is an automotive content creator, a parts retailer, and a drifter! If you are not aware of him, make sure to go check out his RUclips in the link below and follow him on social media. Jimmy was nice enough to let us stop by while we were running errands picking up parts nearby. He is a true automotive enthusiast and I believe that shines in this podcast. We get his origin story all the way up to present day. We also got a look into what is involved with becoming a RUclips content creator. A lot was learned on this trip. I was also taken back by the amount of top notch work I saw in his shop on our visit. By the time we left we were telling him to open a restoration shop for these old Japanese cars! Our first traveling podcast episode was a complete success and we hope to do more this year!

man the time jimmy was in LA i met him at a car meet i had just got my beat hatch with a NA sr swap ,shit paint, ugly wheels and dude still showed came up and showed love and was surprised that i had a NA Sr and was cracking jokes, i gave me suggestions but he still clowned why NA 😂😂 got to say one of the coolest youtubers I've met in person ! it's mind blowing to see how far he's come ! great episode !
Jimmy isnt just my favorite automotive youtuber, hes my favorite youtuber period! The only patreon I pay for and the first "merch" Ive ever bought. Hes been genuine, humble, down to earth and just a good ass dude since day one. I knew with the right budget and team he'd build some insane shit so I always supported as much as possible. Not only is he finally making a decent living with a ton of amazing cars, he brought his friends up with him and seems to have stayed true to who he is. Crazy whats been done with less than than 1 million subs. The channels hes showed us have been rad too. Proud to have been a part of the journey and I'll be here til the wheels fall off. Dope podcast dudes! 3 hours went by fast af!

It's pretty amazing to see Jimmy actually relaxed and open. You can tell he's more reserved in his videos and tries to keep it as "clean" as possible. He's actually a really funny guy.

Jimmy is probably one of the most humble and just chill guys I’ve ever met. Met him a few times, and he’s just so low key and humble. If anyone hates on him they suck.

I relate so hard to this story. I had zero friends in college and hated every minute of it. I drove from Tampa to Orlando every weekend to do car stuff and hang out with my real friends. Saving every scrap of money and doing every bit of random side work to make money for parts. Finally graduated with info tech degree and I’m a Nissan tech now😂 crazy how many of us had the same college experience
Look along time ago Jimmy talked about leaving RUclips and I couldn’t comment enough no because he’s great at what he’s created he’s positive he’s great at creating videos he’s a routine for us I’ve preached this for yrs RUclips needs Jimmie’s

great podcast, i love this man so much. he’s a huge role model for sure to my group of car guys here and my biggest inspiration. Love how humble and intelligent jimmy is. Everything he says sticks with you and hits you with intent from his confidence.

When I done Mechanical Engineering I was lucky to find a fellow car nut in my year and he ended up being from the same town we ended up driving to college every day together it halfed the cost of travelling to college 🎓 💯🤙
