See I built my stand using 2x6's for the frame instead of 2x4's and on each corner I used 4x4 posts for the legs and one 4x4 in the center towards the rear. The thing I'm nervous about is is screwed 1 single structural screws through the top sheet of 3/4'' plywood directly down into the top of each post. Then the frame that wraps around the top screwed into the sides of the post legs. While it feels very secure I just hope the weight of a 75 gallon tank filled with water and gravel does cause it to collapse in my bedroom. My first aquarium build and i went with bigger heavier duty materials just cause i wanted to make sure it was gonna be more than capable of holding the weight for many years to come. But I have no clue lol.
@@Boost-EdAutomotive well i cut some 2x6's to run as support from front to back on top and bottom in between the frame and screwed them all in as well and the frame also wraps around the entire thing on bottom too not just the top.
King of DIY said 500lbs. But I have 6 weight bearing 2x4s and another 6 with 4 screws each minimum. So it’s good enough according to your rule of thumb as well. If there was no RUclips I would have never attempted this haha
125g so I believe the aquarium is 72 long 18 wide. For a little reference I'm building a stand for a 150g that is 60 long and 24 wide. I used 13 2x4's that are 8ft long, making my stand 61" by 25" and 36" tall. Hope that helps
@Boost-EdAutomotive thanks bro, that stand looks awesome, I wish u went in a lil more detail about the set up inside the tank as far as the electrical and stuff cause ima use your video to make a stand for a 75 gallon
@andytavarez1985 thanks! Never really build anything. I knew I could build it sturdy. Just a question if it would look nice enough for the living room haha
@JoKeRTechz that would be my thing too , I know I can build it but I wanted to look nice too cuz it's going to go in the living room but I appreciate your help and your videos. keep up the good work
awesome, love your frenchies right behind to help
Haha I’m trying to get it to where they’ll stay in the area but the neighbors love them so they go running out when they see neighbors .
I can't believe you haven't blown up in RUclips yet!! Thank you for your videos!!! I can't wait until you start getting millions of views!
Haha thanks man! I have some more footage I need to edit of fish stuff. I’ve just been busy with work
As long as you slap it and say "Should hold" you are good to go.
😂😂 definitely going to do that now
😂
😂😂😂😂
“That ain’t going anywhere”
@greatslambino so far it hasn’t

Is there anything else to hold the side to side weight?

Awesome stand , awesome s13 coupe !
Thanks!
One 33 inch 2x4 can support 333 pounds in the vertical position. So 6 will support 1,998 pounds.

Gonna give this ago been looking for a stand 2 meters by 35cm to fill a wall I only have 2 40 litre shallows tanks so I’ll be fine weight wise
Good luck! It was fun to build.
