Wow! You rock!! I have seen many frames like that, but I simply loved how you tuned it up and made place for all the gears. Excellent!
I’m a woodworker and have watched a lot of build videos here on the RUclips. Great build, great video, great job. Keep it up. 💯
Thank you very much I'm very excited about getting started on my own stand. I bought a fish tank bar top but it did not come with a stand and I wanted to do something nice instead of cinder blocks so I'm very happy you posted this
Thanks, good luck if you decide to build one 😁
FANTASTIC. Great job. Clean and well made.
Cheers! :D
excellent. Love the red and black
Cheers 🍻
Going to use this video and part one as a build guide for my bearded dragons 4x2x2 stand! This turned out incredible and looks store bought! Very nice job, thank you!
I like the colors, similar to the Circa 1880, Red Chinese Lacquer furniture and the black trim is a nice touch. I’m impressed. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice build, thank you for sharing. You might want to put the canister filter in a plastic container (leakage) or your carpet/floor will be shot in no time. I didn't at first and it messed up my original stand so I'll have to build a custom one like yours now. Cheers!
Oops I’m sorry that happened to you. Yeah good idea with the container. Good luck with the new build and thanks 🙏
looks awesome and professional, red looks great!
Thank you! I do quite like how the red turned out :)
You've inspired me to give it a go myself. I wanted a split level timber stand for a shell dweller project. The problem is, it's too small a job for most chippies to consider. The ones that do want to charge an arm and a leg (completely their own prerogative).
I have the schematic and the tools, so no excuses really.
Nice job. I have built several 125 gallon tank stands. Each time I paint all the framing before I put it together. This saves alot of time. I then go back and do any touch ups from scrapes and other accidents. I add dollar store SMD LED lights underneath, but I use 2 magnetic contacts that turns the lights on as soon as you open each door. I connect 2 LEDS in series, and use a 5 volt cell phone charger as a power supply for the lights. A couple of magnetic door latches as well to keep the little ones & pets out.
Like the colors, red and black. Really looks nice
Thank you :) The good thing about paint is you can choose what ever colours you want.
I'm definitely taking notes to build mine, cheers mate
Great stand well done. Love the lights inside.
Thanks! Yeah it really helps when doing maintenance underneath :D
Graham Hall haiii
Brilliant build. Very clean. 🦐
+BigShrimpin cheers 😁
Fantastic build awesome idea with the light underneath and well put together. I got a few more ideas because of this 👍
Glad it could help :)
Best one I have seen so far. Thanks for the inspiration
Thanks 😁
I almost abandoned this video when I found out you were painting it, I also almost ditched this video when I saw you were only using ply wood for the doors... BUT I stuck it out and I'm glad I did! Nice job bro! It came out looking awesome!!
Thanks for sticking it out 😂
That was a nice built cabinet. You should put the water flow at one corner instead of the inlet and outlet at opposite corners. It is logical, but the fact that if you put the out flow up to create water wave, when the flow the end of the glass wall, the water turns around to the bottom of the tank and goes right back to the inlet. That is the most effective way to suck up all the waste from the tank.
Pretty good at building. I like that stand definitely better than flimsy premade ones you can buy. Great job 👍
Thanks man! 😁
That's awsome! Got a lot of tips and value from this video mate
Thanks! I look forward to seeing yours soon then ha
Edwin from Costa Rica . Great job !!! Thank you for sharing!!! God bless you !!!
No worries 😊
That's looking great and the cabinet is very well organised - groovy.
+Pondguru thanks! Let’s see if I can keep it that way ha! Started on some footage for the filter :)
Nice! I'm a DYI type & that looks decent! Awesome vid.
Thanks! I happy to say it’s still standing one year on haha 😂
Nice job, stand looks awesome.
Thanks Jerry!
Great project and mods to the inside of your stand....
Thank you :)
😂😂
All I can say is wow..... Wow..... Wow! I was so impressed with your first part video but after now watching the 2nd part, you've done such a fantastic build & as for the end result..... It looks so professional & just like a really expensive shop bought stand😊 Congratulations on a job very well done👏👏👏👏
Looks great!
+goodstrong thank you 👌
beautiful.. Using Red colour with black trim was a surprise. looks great. thumbs up.
Thanks 😁 Yeah it’s not as vivid as I thought it might turn out, which is good.
oh la la. what great project. looks awesome
It's survived there hands of time :D
Great looking stand!
Thank you 🙏
Love the videos you make man, wish I had resources to make my own tank and stand one day so I can fully fulfill my hobby. Keep up the great content
Cheers! One day you will hopefully :D
A little advise from a painter take it how you’d like lol, use a little roller (weenie roller) it’s way faster and applies coats more evenly. Also this applies to anything that you need to prime first. Get the primer tinted near the color of you finish coat, so for that I would get the primer tinted red, that way you will need way less coats and it will save you a lot of time.
You live and you learn. Thanks for the tip :)
@@SimplyShrimps of course man, figured id share my knowledge
Incredibly awesome
Thanks you :D
Nice cable management in the stand ! Good work
It’s the only way ;)
Awesome build!
Thanks!
Nice !!!
You should put your filter on sliders like what you would find on cabinet drawers. It would make it easier to remove and install that big canister. 🐠
I built a similar stand but went blue and black and opted to have my panels life on and off due to space constraints. (I didn't have enough room to have them swing open. There is this nice color called Blackcat, it is as dark as dark gets but lets the grain of the wood still show through on the surface. I think that the wood would look even better on this stand if you could see the texture in the black with the gloss of the red. All in all you did a great job with this stand, and when I have more room I'll probably build my panels out like yours.
Thanks for the tip with the paint. I’ll have to look into that. Yeah I suppose it’s whatever you have room for in your home 😁
Looks great 👍🏼😉
Thanks
great finish. looks fantastic. love the contrast between the red and the black. I'm gonna build it the same way with only one difference. I need a top board (like a kitchen top kinda thing). so i'll probably end up either buying the top or making one of some nicer wood...thanks for sharing :-)
Very nice... proper job!!! 👍
Wow man you are a aquarium stand building genius. I just subscribed and I really like the fluval canister filter.
Thanks for watching 😁 Yeah it’s a good filter.
feels inspired to make my own cabinet one day.wish i will get enough machine and resources needed for cabinet building.
Hopefully one day you do 🙂
Wow ... Looks Great , i had my doubts about Red and Black but i guess i was wrong after all , nicely equipped inside can not ask for anything else Thanks for sharing , From North Carolina USA
I like your video great job on the tank 👍🏻, the fx6 is a great filter good pick
Thanks :) it’s keeping the tank clean so far 😁
Brilliant mate going to be making my own stand like I commented on the part 1 video going to save money.
Cheers looks great 👍
wooa ... good job dude!
Thanks!
That's cool man you did a good job
Thank you 😁
Great job
Well done!
Thank you :)
What an awesome stand! I will be following your videos to build a stand for my 48” X 24” X 24” ball python bio active vivarium. Thanks for the videos.
Thank you and good luck with your build :)
Dude I'm seriously impressed 👏🏼👏🏼 I'll be subbing ✊🏼
Cheers! Thanks for the support 🤘
very nice.. good job... lots of great ideas.
Thanks :)
Awesome!!
Cheers 😁
Very good man, nice work!.
Thank you :)
Thank you :)
Really nice job
Awesome dude
Cheers 🤘
Awesome build bro
Cheers man!
You should really paint that interior of cabinet :) Would be perfect then!
I really like organized cables and tubing inside. Well done!
sweet build
Thank you :)
I like it! My suggestions is to get a micro-switch and wire your lights to turn on when you open the door automatically on the stand.
That's an awesome idea and easy enough to do! I might give it a shot in the future :) Thanks
This is so gooooood
And still standing :) just in the garage
Well done looking good
Cheers :)
Just built a stand without watching a single video. Turned out alright, but not super finished looking. Which I would've watched this, my stand would've been beautiful! Thanks for the video man. Keep up with the work you love.
Aw maybe for your next stand build ;) Thanks!
My build was almost the same as this one (5' x 2' x 2') but I didn't use as many inside front to back braces as you did (8 on top and 6 on base). I didn't think I needed as much because it's going to be holding up a vivarium that's 5' x 2' and 5' high but it's only going to have water approximately 1 foot deep and a waterfall coming down one corner so it wont be as heavy.
Another thing I did was make use of that side space that's usually on the inside because everyone adds plywood to keep the stand from racking or twisting. This covers up a space 3 to five inches on each end that's usually too deep to reach easily, so it goes unused. I placed that plank of plywood on the inside of the legs leaving me enough space to add a pegboard on one side to keep my nets and other supplies and shelves on the other side for all the cans and bottles of fish foods and medications.
That's a great idea! I'll have to see if I can utilise more of the space underneath :)
Hey bud, I just want to say you did a great fricken job. Keep fine tuning and sell these! Great video A+
Very nice build
Thanks you 😁🙏
Just a little tip. The next time you plan to paint anything red use a grey tinted primer first. It allows the finish coat to cover with fewer coats.
I did think about this, so thanks for clarifying :D I’ll be sure to try it next time thanks :)
Or pink primer!!!
Never seen pink primer, I’ll keep an eye out :)
Simply Shrimps some hardware stores may put some red tint in your primer if you ask, but it’s not common.
Look like easy.. but.... i cant 😂
Aarrgg great work, and nice video 👌
Thanks :) Anything is possible if you put your mind to it :P
good job bro is fantastic
Thank you :)
Hi, what did you use to cover the edges on the trims @4:11?, those nails are gone, it looks nice.
It was just some framing from the wood isle in my local hardware store. There are different patterns that you can get.
so talented wow
Thanks
Woow.. Nice, succese for u
Nice job. Painting in the kitchen, you are brave!
Thanks 😁 It was my parents kitchen ha!
I am sorry too. Well done!!! I liked your work😉
Thank you 🙏😂
Great video!! Massive inspiration, I am just about to start a build I have the tank done it's a 60" x 24" x 18" 361ltrs so just about to start on the stand but I want to be able to mount the doors all the way to the edge of the stand but I'm struggling to find a way to do that if I built the frame like you did out of 2x4 so do you think I could just purely use 18mm ply maybe laminated together to give 36mm and some 2x4 bracings in the centre to maximise the space in the cabinet because I am going to be running a sump, thanks
Thanks :D Good luck with finishing it!
Great video, Mate, but for effsake, take off the hoodie with the long hood straps around power tools, especially if you are using a drill.
Thanks! I couldn’t agree more 🙈 I was conscious of this when making the video. But after the shot had been taken I couldn’t go back and refilm cutting/drilling new bits of wood 😂 I’m sorry for that and well picked up on. I know for next time now 😁
Nice job
Thanks 😁
kick ass tank! you tube should only accept thumbs down on videos with a comment only. why give this video a thumbs down!? spectacular video
Haha thanks 😁 I try not to take the thumbs down to heart too much 😂
sorry I am a amateur looking to tackle this project soon. now your plywood panels you covered your top screws with trim around and you did the same with bottom. what about your side screws in plywood? was the primer and paint enough to cover the screws?
I'm shocked to see so many hater probably live in there mums basements I'm stoked I found this channel
Appreciated.. 👍
Thanks 😁
Your cute and very creative 😍 great job on the tank stand and everything keep it cutie😍🥰
He's a dude! Get out of here.
Parabéns muito lindo e bem feito seu movel
I don’t understand sorry.
I enjoy your videos. I've been wanting to build a smaller tank stand. I hope you don't mind me copying. I'd like to have the same as yours, but without the doors. That's a bit too tricky. Ha ha.
Thanks :) Yeah that’s fine, if anything I made the video to help others so feel free to copy :D Good luck!
As this is Part Two, i believe it's a good idea to put a link for Part One under the video description
Good idea thanks 😁
Very slick! Looks like it could get up to 80 kph in a hurry! :-D It's different - I like it a lot.
Cheers! Haha it’s a racing stand ;)
SEXY stand mate - so I am no expert, but I would almost suggest covering the bottom in plywood, or something. This would keep any water from disconnect or reconnect of your filter from staining the carpet, and keeps everything else within a space easy to clean. Great video, thank you!
Cheers man! I had planned on doing this at some point. At the moment there is spare carpet under the filters to help with this issue :)
Congratulations 👏👏👏👏👏👏
good job! i will do same AQ stand like you :)
Thanks! Have fun making yours :D
Awesome build!! I've just bought a 5x2x2 tank. Gonna use your method for sure. Thank you. Is there anything you would have done differently? That maybe would have made the build easier?
Thanks you :D I would have probably used a guide for when i was using the jig saw to cut straighter. Other than that I'm still happy with the stand to this day :)
Hey mate,
you did an awesome job 👏 🙌
Really impressive and organized. Is there a fact sheet listened up all measures of wood?
Thank you 😊
Nice job, was really good, I need to build a stand for 4 frog tanks ( a 2 x 2 sort of setup.) So might be stealing some of your ideas, although it doesn't need to hold nearly half the weight yours does.
clean
Thanks
your thumbs up got a thumbs up ;)
...and so did your comment ;) Cheers!
GREAT 😛
Thanks :)
Nice. Do u have any video making an aquarium canopy?
Love the vid and just about done with part one! What kind of backboard did you use to face the outside of the tank? It looks great! Also, how big and how many of them did you have to buy?
What a beautiful tank stand. Considering it was your first go it's very impressive. I'm actually going to use your design for increasing the height my household cold water tank in my loft to increase shower pressure. How is it handling the weight? My tank is 50 UK gal so 227 litres so I'm sure this will be very secure. Was thinking of adding some diagonal braces to give extra horizontal strength.
The tank is sick. I'm inspired. What size is it. I love it man. I really love it.
Thank you :) It's a 500 litres or 130 US gallons.
Hi! Great stand, very impressive can you list all the products/materials/tools you've used please?
I don't even have shrimp but really enjoyed the video and subscribed
Cheers :) I hope I can keep providing videos you like!
Marlon's C
Its a sigh you might be falling love with him. LOOL
Haha! 😂🙈
