  • WiFi Calling is a feature that is supported to most modern smart phones, yet it's probably not well understood, and hence underrated.
In this video we explain a basic opportunity with WiFi calling, where it would be possible to get a decent boosted phone signal without products such as the Cel-Fi GO booster, but using external antennas (such as the Poynting XPOL-2 MIMO Antenna, a4G Yagi Antenna or LPDA) to get an internet connection and then make a call via the WiFi network.
Any device, such as a Netgear NightHawk M2 or the Huawei B818 would work well with this concept, and one can be connected on Vodafone, Telstra and Optus.

I know the video is a year old however you mentioned at the end of your video not knowing weather your Wi-Fi call will transfer from wifi-4G and back seamlessly enough to be workable - I'm on a Samsung j8 this afternoon I was using wifi calling at work in a big concrete building down in the staff change rooms wifi calling worked well down in the change rooms where I don't even hsve enough data to send an SMS LOL when I left work and was out on the street my caller reported slight call disturbance for about 30 sec BUT my call did not dissconnet and quickly transferred to 4g so I could continue my call.
My phone is 2018 vintage I used to have to force my phone onto Wi-Fi calling by turning it onto aeroplane mode as you discussed comma I discovered the other day that I can now choose how my calls handled whether that be by Wi-Fi or data as my preferred calling route. I've been running that way for the last few days and that seems to be working well.

I love how WiFi calling is now becoming mainstream. When I was in the US in June it was awesome to be able to simply call home without the concern of roaming costs or anything.

If I am abroad in Europe but connected to wifi can I do a free wifi call to a landline in my home country? Or is it just mobile cell phone to mobile cell phone that works with wifi calling? Is it never able to get into the landline network?

The WiFi call is a way to connect to the internet and network. However, it still counts as a call through your own network operator.
I think they would also consider roaming by checking your location.

I’m using an android phone. Do you know if they show your location if you use Wi-Fi calling? Sometimes I get weird phone calls and I dial the number back but I use *67 to block my phone number. If I use *67 to block my phone number and use Wi-Fi calling, will they show my location or where I’m calling from? I’m just curious… Especially on mobile to mobile…
P.S!! Please write back!!! Greatly appreciate!!!
