  • This video shows the process of me figuring out a CB Antenna install on my truck with a Bed Cover. Yes, there a lots of different types of mounts I could have gone with, but I didn't want the antenna off the side of the vehicle, and still wanted to maintain the cover's functionality.
I purchased the antenna mount on Amazon, just do a search for "firestick antenna mount," the bar stock was 2x36x3/16" steal from HomeDepot.
I don't have exact plans or measurements, this is just how I installed mine to hopefully help if you decided to do a similar project like this.
Thank you for watching, and if you have any comments or suggestions on what you'd like to see, or ways to improve, leave them down in the comments!
I'd like to thank all my subscribers, and I appreciate everyone's support!

They make a stake hole bracket for those with bed covers or campers. I have them on mine and works great.

Should have just bought a Magnet Mount and be done with this. One last thing, I would have a Inline Fuse somewhere between the Power source and the radio.

Looks good.Keeping the antenna back away from the glass probably helped the SWR.

IM SORRY THAT YOU PAINTED THE BAR SUPPORTING THE ANTENNA BRACKET. YOU NEED AN ELECTRICAL GROUND-COUNTERPOISE. THIS GIVES A GROUND PLANE EFFECT

Move the mount to the rear between the bed and the tailgate.

Wondering why you decided to angle back the entenae. Straight vertical gives you better signal and range.

Hey! Awesome install! Can you tell me what antenna you used? It’s exactly what I need.

Thank you! The antenna is a 3’ firestick off amazon

Maybe you could have angled the antenna left to right instead of front to back?? I ASSUME you did that to provide garage door clearance?

why don't you mount at the front-end of your truck I may have missed your reason for that if not that would solve all the functionality issues and allow for a more parallel mount with less interference.

The closer to the center of the vehicle, the better the ground plane. Better reception. Better transmission.

I would hope the mounting bolts to the Bed would be sufficient.

There should be a ground screw on the back of the radio, just run a wire to the frame rail or some the attached to it. Also if your getting electrical noise from the truck like alternator whine, put some ferrite beads on EVERYTHING….LOL
