If you order the oem filter it comes with an instruction sheet that shows you how to properly install the filter. It states in those instructions the filter is supposed to be clicked into the cap, it is an updated instruction sheet by the manufacturer. When done this way the filter doesn't get stuck in the housing when removing. Same way the oil filter and centrifugal filter are made, the cap has groves for the filter to click in.

​@Dartmech buddy you are 100 percent wrong, read the instructions that come with the filter and the paccar manual. The filter is made to click into the cap, no where in any manual does it say drop it in the housing and spin it.

I was really trying to use my own string....U went through that piece too quick. 😫😫 I just ordered some from Amazon. THANKS.

So you are the guy telling people how to do it the wrong way. You should read the manual before you make an instructional video. You are supposed to click the filter into the cap when installing not put it into the housing first. Otherwise the filter gets stuck in the housing and you need to pry the filter out breaking the plastic. And in what world is 20 pumps enough to prime the system 😂 wow. Don't listen to this guy, read and follow the instructions that come with the filter.
