- You've probably seen a back probe kit, or may even own one. If so, you SHOULD know the proper way to use these kits! If you've never seen or used these style of probes before, then this video will help you understand the "why" and "how" of properly using a sharp needle for electrical diagnostics!!
Harbor Freight has a lot of Electrical tools, but I wouldn't typically endorse any of them with any sort of confidence. However, this type of a tool is mechanically simple and there ARE instances where you would NEED to use them, but ONLY as a last resort!

That looks just like a rebranded kit I bought from some random Amazon site, it has the exact same stuff in the same amounts. I'm sure Maddox just stuck their label on that kit and started selling it. Of course I got mine for like 9 bucks.
I admit that I got lost on the “without a path to ground” part. If you don’t have a path to ground then you have an open circuit. And if you have an open circuit how sure you getting a reading on your multimeter?
They work great in electronic breadboard projects!
I just picked one of these up, so I can front probe a PCI bus diagnostic port, and the OBDII port on my Jeep with an oscilloscope.
Those pins are great for voltage checks but never trust them doing a resistance check they aways give a bad reading
Why dont my maddox back probes fit my mutimeter leads????
What kind of meter do you have? Most are standard “banana “ receptacles
I got a klien and just bought a cheap automotive Lang. I should specify because maybe I'm getting the terms backwards. Where the back probe tips from the same kit (maddox) as well as other probes from other kits don't fit on the needles of my meter leads don't fit. They won't push on and fit sloppy and fall off. I'm at a loss here.
Haha wow I just got the email today that it was coming out
😂
Jump cuts suck.
