In another video, some tech recommended using a “power probe” to retract electronic brakes w/o ever explaining what the hell a power probe even was! I mean, if the person doesn’t have a good scanner, then there’s a good chance he doesn’t have a power probe, either! This video was extremely helpful, thanks!

One thing I didn’t here you guys say is just because it shows ground ( lit up green) when your probing things that doesn’t only mean that it’s a ground. It also means that it has a complete circuit to ground. Example when you did the blower motor test it shows ground meaning the circuit is complete. This is an awesome tool for electrical work but can also be harmful if your not careful

one thing to note awesome demo by the way. when they tested the starter solenoid and he got surprised by it showing ground is that a power wire depending how and what it is wired to will show ground unless switched on by either the ignition or some sort of switch and is under load then it will show battery voltage. be careful when wiring things and using available wires at the location you or wiring in as i have made this mistake and shorted a ECT guage lol.

The 3ez is like it's name says the easiest to use but you have a 4 and actually get to know it functions she will be a lady in the streets and a freak in the sheets lol.

The truck in the video if I was working on it I would use the hook because it’s all in one so I can check power ground resistance and amps when it comes to older trucks wiring harnesses. Last but not least keep up the good work guys the channel is awesome the request I have is more paccar videos because they roll in the shop every now and again👍

Analog if you’re watching for fast fluctuation in voltage. A multimeter isn’t sending power on demand, only measuring the input selected on the dial/buttons.

So basically unless you’re watching for some super quick voltage change, power probe every time.

I'm not as proficient on my electrical/electronic diagnostics yet as I wanna be and I'm trying to improve. That Power Probe is one item that's been on my "needs" list for a while. On a topic not related, Mr. Clay, how is that Gearwrench tool set you bought from Mr. Joe for your Service Truck been holding up for you?

Koon Trucking no quality issues worth talking about with the Gearwrench stuff? I’ve had minor issues with some of the reversible ratcheting wrenches. But, I’m trying to give Gearwrench a chance. I bought and used the 3/8” swivel head ratchet without any issues so far. I like the length of the ratchet and compared to the Carlyle version it has a slimmer profile.

I haven’t had any. In fact the X Core swivel adapters have been some tough SOB’s ! My half inch is floppy and had a ton of wear but it is still hanging in there. In fact I just got the 1/4” Gearwrench torque wrench with angle.
