Good work dear.appreciate your determination even if the tools are less sophiscated. Sometimed We all use some kind of improper tools. Hope that the solder joint will not cause short circuit.an insulation at joint would have given peace of mind.

In the beginning, you should
use multitester ( DVOMM )
in measuring resistance which,
will show you the continuity
which, in turn, will tell you if the wires
are cut or not,,,.

Mr Electron, good day Your brush flew off. Should it work without the wire attachment to the brush and the other part ie soldered part of the voltage regulator that prevents the brush from dislodging from its groove? anyway brilliant. TQSM.

What fault in alternator when charching volt below 12v ??????
too many possibilities.May be the field winding is a short circuit or the i/p supply to the alternator is low.. etc etc

@@chwasim6995 90% of the time are worn out brushes and slip rings if the alternator produces below 13.8V, a normal reading is about 14.4V... for a car alternator

You complicate your work by removing the bearing, the copper above the bearing and the original wire when your intention is jut connect the broken wire.
