  • Come along as we depart a very rainy San Jose, CA and get vectored too many times on the descent for the ILS 20R at John Wayne International in Santa Ana, CA.

    Thanks for another great video, I really enjoy them. Great work on the comms keeping up with all the vectoring changes. TBM is such an awesome plane. Looks like you were having some fun on your last flight 3/7 SJC/PAO with all the speed and altitude changes. Again, Thanks for another great video. EDIT Just after I wrote this I saw a RUclips short regarding the Palo Alto US Air Expo. Assume your flight there was due to the Expo.

    Found your channel today. Great video, gorgeous aircraft and you flew quite an approach. That approach controller was very good. Appreciated your self critique on the landing. Although it didn’t look like a floater to me. Will be definitely looking for your next video. I did notice you say Yaw Dampener, instead of Yaw Damper. A lot of pilots do that. Just a heads up….

    Im curious to know is this standard procedure when starting does that Annunciator light always have to be pushed in? What I am trying to say here is after watching a good few of your videos now (all the start up) and not knowing anything in regards to a turbine startup, i thought to myself this is so very different to a typical piston startup? Because i do not remember at all having to click off a switch during doing certain procedures . If you could please give a good reason why it keeps beeping and or lighting up (unless you have already in past videos? and i missed that) Another question is in regards to landing this TBM 960.. I have seen many now different RUclips videos of this island airport in the Caribbean, St Barts island, A very cool looking and challenging airport to both land and i guess take off. So my question is this, the airport runway is just over 2100 feet with crazy approach to Rwy 10? I think,, what weight do you think you need to be to land without to much stress , Can you look into this please? Any info you could give i would be happy. I did see a TBM 850 land and it seemed to be easy?? But then I have no idea what the feeling would be like coming in on the degree pitch and then the Flare and how much real estate you use up before stopping with the feeling of zero stress. Love the videos please keep making them! And hopefully you can make it to this island hahaha, Cheers Nico

One question though, I’m 6’2 with a few extra pounds (around 250) how roomy is the cockpit or how adjustable are the seats , pedals, etc…? Would I even comfortably fit?

    Curious why they gave you 12R at Mike versus just 12R via victor? It appeared Mike was at the very start of the runway? I usually only get that call out if I’m doing an intersection departure halfway down the runway or something, just curious.

    Does the FADEC shut down the engine on hot start or other engine start issues . I noticed you had your finger hovering over a button. Also does it do all the prop governor at beta test ?

    • @mkleczynski

    I wonder if there are more opportunities for automation. Example, tapping the brakes when landing gear goes up or yaw damper after takeoff. Also, in the future, AI capturing the ATC command and showing the command on a screen and you accepting it with a verbal readback.

    For the average viewer could you provide additional readings of altitude and cruising speed? Notably before pausing the episode during the flight and when you return to begin descent?

    • @ThorNjord
      @ThorNjord 2 месяца назад

      Hi! It can rather easily be seen on the PFDs: the right and left screen. The airspeed tape is on the left and reads in knots of indicated airspeed. The altitude is on the right and reads in feet. When we have the cam filming the left PFD, you can see, on the very bottom left of the screen, the ground speed (GS) and true airspeed (TAS). The meaning of all the speeds can easily be found on the net or RUclips. Cheers!
