    Brilliant. Really useful to see. I like the water fill being inside. Hope it all worked out really well.

      Thanks. Yeah it’s good and works well as in all cases when you want to fill up with water it’s easy to open the doors. Only issue is if I need to fill with a container I use a funnel and sometimes that pops out and gets the garage a bit wet.

    No dought you have thought to secure the pipes to prevent them from jiggling; a sure way for a leak to start. I am sorry to see the end of the build series; I have followed it all the way and what you have managed to do with little previous experience is quite remarkable - you deserve to feel proud.

      Thank you, really kind of you to say and thanks for watching. Yes I need to go through and secure them as best I can. Might need some additional supports as in some places they are floating in thin air!

    I've absolutely loved following your van build. It's really inspired me and I've coped some of what you did, particularly the bed, which works really well. I'm just starting to get out in mine so I'll be watching some of the previous vids over again, esp the overhead cupboards and plumbing vids. Can't wait for the full tour vid and hope you do some more travel vids too. Thank you for sharing your journey. hope I bump into you some time on our travels x

    Just a thought to add some extra protection from leaks you can get little C shape clips that fit on the end of the push fit to stop the release part from moving ( screwfix part 749hy ) but others available. Sure you’ll be fine but can’t hurt for the price 👍🏼 your doing such a good job with this van and so close to finishing now 😎

    Superdry shirt and leaks made me smile. A plumber friend told us to not use scissors to cut the pipe’s because you need a precise cut to stop leaks 🤷‍♀️ very informative though, thanks. We’re about to start pretty much the same set up as you. Also want to comment on how best and tidy your wok is, even in the garage bit

    • @OurVanPlan
      @OurVanPlan  2 года назад +1

      Haha didn’t even put 2 and 2 together! I was a bit apprehensive about scissors but those ones are super sharp and do a clean edge. And with the inserts in, if squares everything off. But if I could do it again I’d probably do it properly just for another layer of trust in the system! The auto carpet hides a multitude of sins! It makes everything look like it was meant to be. Good luck with yours 👍🏻

      @@OurVanPlan we’ve not got that far yet, was just a warning we had of a plumber friend, not sure how important it is. So long as you end up with no leaks all is good 😄 yeah that carpet is so good , we have a Mazda Bongo and used it a lot in that. Does hide a multitude of sins 😂

    Hey, did you ever do anything with the pump mounting? Sounded noisy. Was thinking to cut another bit of ply to mount it on, screw that to the original bit with some foam or something between the two panels to stop vibrations? How have you found it? Great videos!

    • @OurVanPlan
      @OurVanPlan  Год назад +1

      No i just mounted onto ply. The pump does have rubber feed to help but your idea of additional foam backed ply would work. It is quite noisy but doesn’t bother us at all. Only comes on for a second or so when using the water. Don’t hear it any other time.

    Hi! Excellent work! It is so handy to be a few weeks behind on my build so I can learn from your experience! Much appreciated!!!!
    A couple of questions.
    1) - Do you have a check valve at the entry of the water heater (Cold side) to avoid back flow?
    2) - What cladding are you using on the water fill box? I don't see it on the list of items used.

    • @OurVanPlan
      @OurVanPlan  2 года назад

      Thank you. Yes we have a one way valve into the Truma on the cold feed. The cladding - do you mean the white tiles? It’s called Multipanel and you can get it in various places. Rest of the boxing in is 12mm poplar ply.

    • @RoddyPerry
      @RoddyPerry 2 года назад

      @@OurVanPlan I mean the white tiles yes. I am in Germany and they seem to have a store here! thank you!

      No I didn’t but the tanks have breather holes in the top and no problem filling.

    Hi there, sorry me again 🙂 I've talked to a few Conversion Companies about fitting a Truma Combi Boiler & an underslung LPG tank for me. The logistics/timing of that could be a challenge of course and I recall you did the floor 1st and then got Autogas 2000 to do the tank (& we won't talk about the position of the regulator...) & presumably the Combi Boiler by them too and then you continued with the build / plumbing etc. I think. How did that work please with the pressure testing and final gas connection to the cooker. Did you have to take it back to them for a 2nd fix or something or could they do it all early on? It's my main conundrum planning my build at the moment and trying to keep my need for a professional / van out of my hands to a minimum. I'd really appreciate your advice on how it went for you please 🙂

    • @OurVanPlan
      @OurVanPlan  Год назад +1

      So yeah I did the floor then went to Autogas 2000 to install the gas tank including pipe work inside the van to a manifold where the kitchen unit would be. I then built all the framework for the seat base and installed the Truma myself. I did all the gas pipe work too!

      Good luck with the plumbing. It’s not as scary as you think. Just triple check the connectors if you’re using the same ones. Nice clean cut on the pipe and push them in really, really firmly. I had to redo a few! You too 👍🏻
