Hey guys! In this video I will be installing acura legend dual piston calipers on my integra and I will explain my setup and what worked for me. This will also work on any civic from 88-00 and any integra from 90-01.
this OEM big brake kit consists of:
Acura Legend Dual Piston Calipers
2007 Mini Cooper base model rotors (280mm)
04-08 TSX brake pads - Авто/Мото
Thank you for the fast reply awesome video man thank you for the detailed info can wait to do this to my car
good information. thanks
How is your brake pedal feel?
All I see is the dudes back
All we see is your back.
Lol sorry I'm in the process of learning
Is there a difference between using the ITR caliper vs legend?
Only difference would be the dual piston vs single piston. They both use the same size brake pad and rotor when used like this.
Hi! I have an mb6 entire brake setup on my Civic coupe 92-95 this caliper is direct bolt on? THANKS!!!
Direct bolt on, yes 👍🏽
Did you use the brake pad retainer clips from the cr-v brackets or do you use acura Tsx brake pad retainer clips on the cr-v brackets?
Mike Corea tbh I don’t remember. I wanna say I just reused the legend ones. I know I didn’t use retaining clip on top because I would get a screeching noise
So if I'm using a 23t caliper bracket do I need to use 3mm shims between bracket and spindle , or grind caliper brackets down by 3mm, every forum says either of the 2 and I'd like to do this on my eg, not enough Info for me to jump the gun,
GREYxLOTUS no need for shims. Just use the 23t brackets and cut off the “ears” of the brake dust shield. This will only work if you are using ex/si knuckles
@@nic3guyeddie thanks so much, got an EX eg sedan
Thank you for the video question what size rims are you running ?
No problem thank for watching!
I’m running 15x6.5 +32 with 205/50/15 tires
What year was the crv the bracket was off of its the only thing you didnt say
Jonathan Wimbush sorry about that. To answer your question I got the 23T bracket off the 1st gen 97-01 CR-V
You have to flip the caliper in order to bleed it?
You cant just bleed it upside down?
You can’t bleed them upside down. Some people mount them with the bleeders up. Only reason I didn’t do that is to retain the same orientation as the legend with the smaller piston being the trailing piston
What size wheels are you using to clear this setup?
Danny vargas 15x6.5 konig helium’s I don’t know the offset but it’s your typical Honda offset I would assume
Hi there.
Where can I buy those acura legend GS calipers?
You can try rockauto.com or try checking out your local junkyards. That’s where I found my set
P.S. to get the bleeders right, all you had to do was switch the right and left sides.
crazexskater that’s what I did 🤦🏻♂️
But the bleeding should go in the upper position
Just out the right side on the left side so the bleeder is on top
pablo marquez yup that way it’ll help with bleeding the brakes
all this direct bolt on right with the parts you have ?
Direct bolt on. Just cut the ears off the dust shield and bolt it up and you’re good to go
Do you remember where you got your caliapers ? Online from store or found them off the legend somewhere ?
I pulled them from a legend at the junkyard
You dont need to change the reservoir?and brake lines? Just calipers?
Pavlo Lowry no not necessarily. It would be best to change them but this is all just bolt on stuff.
@@nic3guyeddie also no master cylinder ?
Pavlo Lowry I had done an abs delete on this car prior to this brake upgrade. So I’m running a 40/40 prop valve and a 15/16” master cylinder. I wouldn’t say it necessary but it wouldn’t hurt either
This rotors are 260mm or 280s?
@@pavlolowry5441 280 mm
What brake lines/hoses did you have to use? Integra or legend?
Stock integra lines
@@nic3guyeddie so if I’m doing this on an EK, that would be 99-00 Si or 96-00 EX brake lines right? With EX or Si knuckles of course
@@MultiAdrian46 either ones work. The legend calipers brake lines bolt on same spot as regular civic/integra ones
@@nic3guyeddie awesome! Thanks for the info boss!
No problem and good luck
What size wheel u running ?
15x6.5 but I’m not sure of the offset
Review? Brake better? Made a difference?
JJL Wow stopping has improved by a lot. One of the things I added after I put this video out were spacers that eliminate the play between the stud holes on the rotor and the wheel studs. Those I feel helped out tremendously.
@@nic3guyeddie What spacers did you purchase?
B16A5 EK4 they are shims made by @aletheiamotorsports. Check them out on Instagram
You dont need to change the reservoir?and brake lines? Just calipers?
Is it worth it? It's like adding 50lbs
It’s definitely worth it. You’re not adding 50 lbs. these calipers and rotors aren’t that much heavier than what you are taking off
Is this the same for the rear ???
No rear is different
What were you grinding?
The Uselink Project I was cutting off the little “ears” or tabs on the dust shield. Those need to be trimmed so that the 23T bracket can be bolted on
280 mm rotor?
Yes 280mm
I Am Trying To Upgrade A 1994 Honda Civic DX Hatchback EG. Most Videos Say To Upgrade The Spindle To Integra , EX, Or SI Which Have 5 Stars. One Video I Saw On RUclips, (ruclips.net/video/Wbs_7xKv4KE/видео.html). 1) Which Is Better 4 Star Or 5? 2) What Year Should The Mini-Cooper Rotor Be Between....? I'm Just Wondering The Bracket For Year Difference Compatibility. 3) Also, What Year TSX Brake Pads....? What Year ITR Brake Pads....? I Heard There Are Also Yellow EBC Brake Pads....? I Called The Parts Store And The Guy Won't Help Unless I Have Specific Years For The Parts......
You should just buy a legend...I love it!
Accord rotors and calipers are straight bolt on parts. I don't know why you're making it complicated. Slotted and drilled rotors are available on Ebay cheap (rotors and pads 100$) and would make more "bang for the buck"
P.S. I have a set of double piston calipers off a legend coupe, rotors too. The G2 coupes rotors are 5 mm thicker than the factory 4 doors. And a rebuilding kit for the calipers.
crazexskater you can’t use accord rotors. You can use accord calipers since they are identical to ITR. But if that’s what you want to do go for it 👍
Oh no the cheesey music again. Ugh
