Addictive Drums is an awesome piece of software. Living in an apartment, even if I wanted to spend the money on a whole set, and the mics to record it, it'd be too loud. And I still wouldn't have the same level of variety. AD lets my music have a real feel, instead of sounding electronic.
Great intro video, just got AD2 today and had figured out some, but not all of the tips. Not sure if there is a way to hide kits you don't own rather than having to scroll through all of them?
As good as EZDrummer 3 is, the 'edit' window in Addictive Drums 2 won me over. EZDrummer 3 has some great benefits. Bandmate is one of them. But having the ability to add compression, EQ, saturation and filter and effect each drum sound separately, ALL inside the plugin without having to create a drum map was the deciding factor when I made the switch to Addictive Drums 2
Yeah you can do chokes in Addictive Drums. Chokes are assigned to notes just like sounds and you can either draw in or play/record them on a keyboard. If you’re using a small keyboard, you may need to go into to the Map Window (clicking the “?” on the top right takes you there) and then find the chokes and you can map the correct notes to notes that are within the range of your keyboard and then you can save it as your custom MIDI map preset. You can also simply find out which notes are the choke notes and draw those notes in with the rest of your midi drum arrangement. Hope this helps!
@@theindiemusiclabwhat pack from ad2 should I get to get drum sound like wave to earth drums they are a band and I want that drum sound Korean band the songs I want you to listen to for reference is seasons, bad, purple lake pleaseee I want to get my first drum vst that cost and good 😅
So, I have a question, are you able to set separate tracks for all the drums, or do you have to been a finger genius performing a beat recording direct to the DAW? Can you explain how to accomplish this. I am ideally like to have a separate track for bass drum, snare, hats, etc.....in Protools. Thank you.
I’m not sure what the precise workflow would be in Pro Tools, but in my DAW studio one, I often use separate midi tracks for different parts simply by duplicating the original track and thereby creating new lanes. these midi tracks are still all linked to the same instance of Addictive Drums and they all play together.
It's the same as any other vst. For example, if you want to do your kick drum on one track and then your snare on another track, then hihats on another track, you can. Or you could record all three on the same track separately with your DAW's overdub function. And the cool thing about Addictive Drums is, let's say you like the kick drum from one kit, but wanted a snare from a different kit, you can go to the Kit page of the plugin and make your own custom drum kit with any of the drums that you have unlocked in the plugin. This means that you don't have to open more than one instance of the plugin in your DAW.
I don't think there is such a thing. You have to start with a "collection". The cheapest one allows you to select 3 ADpacks (kits), 3 midi packs and 3 separate kit pieces.
you are the main reason if one day I can produce really good music. thank you for all this.

Nice, i already have the kontakt drums library from NI, but there is not so much parameters and options, i think i m gonna get this now its on promo
Finally I purchased Addictive Drums ')
The beat section is lit for finishing and finding more . I pretty much did this and made a decent metal song.
I found that it's SO worth looking into the Mapping so you can get your own go to preference as a keyboard drummer.THANKS
0:00 - 0:03 yeaaah about that...
Great review. Definitely agree. Less is more.

Absolutely useful!! I love the sounds but the interface can be a bit frightening to me ! Thanks mate
Good video, glad u spent a decent amount of time in that edit window 👍🍿
Thank you. I’m glad you found it useful!

4:54 "You can add some extra sounds". Didn't explain how to do it
I installed it on macOS, but none of the presets are listed. and on the kit it says license
hey man, great vid. Do you know how to do cymbal chokes? i can on EZ drummer, but this one has none. cheers

hi ,have you heard of The Marías? they produced so beautiful songs, can you make a tutorial on their style songs?
Ah yes they’re incredible. I’ve added your request to my list of potential videos. Thanks for recommending them!

Do u prefer them in mono or stereo?
No rim shot samples on any of these? Stewart Copeland didn't make a dent in the midi world I guess.
Thanks. That’s really helpful!
AD2 is dope, although i own Superior and EZ 3 too. AD2 is the real deal for me. I don't like polished drum software incl Roland TD-50KV.
If u were stranded on a deserted island and u could only have one which would u choose ? I have AD2 wanting EZ3

Here's an example.
What kits come with the base package?

Thanks for this! Appreciate it.
