Stupid question but how do you get the drum parts onto the timeline? I know you can explode the individual parts into tracks but how did you get the kick and snare in the same track?
@@oinkooink Easy fella. There is a difference between asking a question and making a statement. Now, saying that you should calm down because you'll live longer.. See? Now THAT is a statement!
Amazing lesson and so damn good Stroke drum kit! What about now you give a try to re-create the MASSIVE ROOMY BARELL SOUNDING DRUMS of WEEZERs "Pinkerton" album???? Accept the challenge!!!
I don't want to steal Indie Music Lab's thunder, but Reverb made a video about 2 months ago where they recreated the drum sound on Tired of Sex. Maybe you could reverse engineer that? Love Pinkerton.
What do you mean "you can EVEN go to the beats section"?????? You make it sound like using the beats/ loops/ midi in AD2 would be the last thing you do! I thought the beats and midi would have been front and centre in people's lives using drum VSTs. I thought they would have been one of the first places to look. What are you implying? That people sit there for days on end tapping midi in with a keyboard??? I'm speechless.
umm, yeah, people do that? I've used AD2 for years and just recently started to use the built in beats section, I've either tapped midi with keyboard or program it in a piano roll, it doesn't even take that long, then you can "humanize" it etc.
It is really not. People even use electronic drum kits as midi controllers to their computers and record drums that way and then mix it. Even some rock bands do, which would be weird just a decade ago.. I just click the grid and move everyting around a little bit to get it a little bit out of sync when writing a song. I´ve never used the beats and loops in AD2. Its kindof fun when it works.
We have similar ears, i totally agree on the sustain and attack here. Thanks for the video man!

The bonus tip was the most helpful for me. Thank you so much for that❤
Thank you for the tips. A quick question though. Wouldn't the Indy Kit be the best option to start with in this instance?
No. No. No, no, no, no. Did he say that? If he didn't say it then it's not a game changer. Are you a game changer man? Game changer.
