- What happened to Crooks and Castles clothing? During the early to mid 2000s Crooks and Castles was one of the leading lines, but they too would fall victim to the rise and fall of a streetwear brand.
Their pieces sold for a premium and could be spotted everywhere, from rappers to mall crawlers and all in between.
But like many of the top brands from that era, Crooks and Castle was not able to make it into the 20s with that same footing.

Yeah they get too expensive when they are sold at zumiez.
Crooks gear is still printed in Montreal right now in 2021. The quality of the garment they print on seems to go down a lot unfortunately, with sizes that also are sometimes not true to the label sewed on. So if you order a size XL , you might find it pretty tight or vice versa.
I find that now that nothing is male or female just UNISEX I had to resize. The generic hoodies are ok. I Spend the extra $10-20 and buy the hoodies that are over $80 they are still that nice thick cotton and have that oldschool feel. The chain cherub sweatsuit for eg

I ordered the $98 crooks n castles black deathrow records hoodie, gold silk inside the hood and hoodie and big symbol on back and crooks on one arm, castles on the other. Waiting for it to arrive now.

Yeah I copped a jacket during the half off sale too. Then they did a 40% off $300 or more so I got matching sweatsuits and another crewneck. I just love the logo 😂

Haven't bought Crooks and Castle products in almost a decade. Recently, wanted to purchase a CC hat and noticed the brand is being sold at Tilly's and Zumiez... not sure if I still wanna rock CC
Same with Stussy. Streetwear is dead unless you in Japan where independent labels are still very prominent there. But brands like Supreme, Offwhite and Hoodrich that label themselves as "streetwear" are considered luxury brands to me. Streetwear used to be for the ballers, skaters and urban fasion in general. But nowadays people wear these "streetwear" brands with a Gucci belt and a Mille on your wrist lol

I was delighted to get two Crooks and Castle hoodies as a birthday gift. I wear them around my house. They are well made. I have watched this label grow and I have always been a fan of theirs. Rock On!

At one point in time there was only two brands that people chose between...and that was either crooks or LRG. I always chose LRG. I wouldn't say the street brand fell because there is still a market for it ( I still sell this brand at my store and it does sells out) however, I would say that its not selling out as quick as it did compared to the early 2010s. This brand (althought started in 2002) didn't become popular till late 00s and early 2010s.
C&C is mad nostalgic. Used to rock that all middle school.
Rip Lewds. Will always support my hometown brand and love how these guys came up. The brand was popping off so well back in the late 2000s and early 2010s. I still remember going to their store at 8570 Sunset and the first Fairfax location. The concert with all the local acts and pusha t was phenomenal. The brand can definitely come back harder than before. Their initial push of going to be using higher end garments a push in the right direction but i still see that the brand is still selling the same stuff from the “golden age” of socal streetwear. The game had changed and they sold out to sell at zumiez. I would still support the brand if they moved to a more muted look or evolved their current products.

Any streetwear brand loses its appeal once it hits Zumiez. Stussy is really the only one that can survive the Zumiez curse, but that’s bc it was around long before it became available there. Crooks and Castles to me never hit. The name didn’t come off as a luxury street brand and doing too much w/ the graphic tees can detract from its urban appeal also. Many streetwear brands don’t last bc they’re a catch 22. The appeal to em is the exclusiveness and limited supply. But that also makes growing the brand more difficult bc you’re taking away what ppl innately like about it. Supreme’s done it right on a large scale. Pink Dolphin’s done well on a smaller scale. Many others will just come and go
I still wear there clothing faithfully have some from years ago and have some on the way right now in the mail .

I associated It with snoop dog, because of what he was wearing In interviews, plus the merchandise catalog I got In the email. This documentary Is entirely different from what I thought It would be. great work.

Their new stuff from MTL is bomb! This year the vests are back. Death row collab looks sick! But, I won’t wear stuff supporting SUGE. The quality is still outstanding. $120 zip up and it lasts years!
I dont think SUGE owns it any more, so would I had thought Snoop Dogg had bought it out?
If they'd have some sizes and not sold out all the time I'm sure they'd make a come back but I give up on trying to order their clothes. Nothing is ever available to order!!!

Sadly have to agree with you! When I found C&C in Hawaii back in 2012, their designs and quality were amazing for the price, couldn't compare anything to it at the time. But over the years, their designs are looking worse and worse... It's pretty sad.
Crazy how this brand has a deeper meaning than just crooks n castles.
Young Cats go crazy whenever I show up in any Crooks and Castles piece, and they want to rep the brand.
Unfortunately, they no longer can.
No other indie streetwear brand is able to achieve that same impact nowadays.

Snoops halftime outfit did wonders for there sales I bet. It's what introduced me to the brand can't believe I've never really heard of it. You watch this brand isn't going anywhere

It's not going anywhere cuz they're selling it in Zumiez 😂😂 This brand is no longer for mature audience. At most it's for HS kids same with Stussy.
Your known what your known for. When the market moves on which it always done, it's over.
Maybe its a lesson on how you treat people when you are new. I can atest that these brands all thought they were too good for many of us retailers who were reputable and in business for years. They once they slowed down they were knocking down your door to be carried. They were glorified teeshirt and baseball cap companies.

I definitely like their clothes but they fuck up the orders a lot and I have to wait of the way way too long on the shipping the shipping about 2 to 3 weeis the 3 weeks for a regular order and then another 2 or 3 weeks if they send me the wrong size I love their clothes though
