Richard is a great interviewer and Dr. Ted Naiman clearly, concisely and comprehensively communicates the essentials of metabolic health better than anyone else I have heard or read.

Multiple studies show that exercise into older age preserves thymus fuction and NAD+ amoung other postive impacts. Ref work of Prof Janet Lord and Reikelt Houtkooper.

Hi Peter, thanks for sharing. I watched Dr Houtkooper's talk, interesting that NAD levels can be maintained by exercise only.

@@ModernHealthspan yes. I believe that's shown by other research. Also Adam Antebi shoes, I think, that low insulin raises NMN and alpha ketoglutarate.

I love your posts. I've been exercising for the 52 years (I am 68 and started lifting weights when I was 16). I am not a body builder, just active... Over the years, I added supplements .... Started with Whey Protein in my 40's, MSM for joints in my 50's. Now added NMN, Resveratrol, Ca-AKG, and others recently. One of the things I started taking in my early 50's was Kefir as it credited with longevity and it helped my weight lifting. When I started taking it I also felt my skin was softer. I am wondering why it is considered helpful in longevity, but not talked about in the Longevity forums... Similar to Nato Cheese in Japan. I wonder if you have heard about Kefir and longevity???? With everyone saying we should eat more vegetarian, I wonder if Kefir is out of favor since it is based on Milk. It is a fermented food like Kim Chee.

Dr. Naiman is up to date with the latest research. Cardiorespiratory fitness is the most important variable for longevity- more important than diet quality(which is also important). Add in general movement and strength training and the most important aspects of exercise are covered.

It's a diet & exercise... and sleep, and stress control and 7 other things at least. 👍

At the gym this afternoon, I finished on the machine that I started on: someone had set it at 30 kilos. The weight was nothing to me: I adjusted it to 45 kilos, and it was harder to pull, yet moved up and down as fast.
I have been working my way up to 50, but have seen others move 75 kilos. 30 kilos is such a laugh! It's a heavy suitcase.

What about sprinting? Can it replace walking, cardio and weights?
