Having recently purchased the watch and paired it with the A54 cell phone, I must adnit I am a little suprised with some of your comments. Why would you charge it overnight? Bad for the battery. I am now just charging my watch 37%, it tells me 100% in 57 minutes so to leave it on overnight charge is totally unnecessary. I sleep with the watch it drops about 15% in an 8 hour rest. I have the phone beside the bed, about a 10% battery drop overnight. It tracks my sleep pattern AND my snoring - I now believe my wife about my snoring! As for picking up the GPS when starting on a walk it takes all of 5 - 10 seconds! AND when it does connect then that period of 'missed' record appears immediately and is shown, i.e.the warch shows I am 10 seconds into my walk and have covered so many steps. So there is no missing data. As for completion, as stated below, push lower button and up pops the red X, touch it and the exercise is saved, then scroll down to View on Phone, touch it and one can view/play with the info. as much as one wants.
I changed from the original Galaxy Watch to the Watch 5 Pro because the battery is "not that bad" but instead of increasing it, Samsung reducing the battery capacity. We gotta wait another year.
The sad thing is that the lack in Battery life is a deal breaker for me. It doesn't really matter what the watch does especially good. Everything that is below at least 48h in regular use is not a real watch to me. I find it annoying with the smartphone already. But at the very least i want to know the time so if i for example travel and for some reason have no good charging opportunity didn't plan ahead i'd like at least the watch powering through it. Or if i have a day with much sports i don't want to worry about the charge of my watch.
Thanks for helping confirm my choice of this watch, which should arrive this weekend. Got tired of dumbing down a watch so much it was barely better than a $40 Casio just to get reasonable battery life. It will get the WearOS updates and should last me 4-5 years. Now it's time to see your Samsung phone reviews since I'm also tired of my Pixel 6 Pro overheating in just 15 minutes all summer long.
Pixel 6 Pro overheating is a software issue. I have LineageOS on mine, and it doesn't overheat so easily anymore. Also fixed the connectivity issues. Google purposely gave this phone bad software for some reason.
I'm excited to get this, I'm upgrading from the watch 4 classic. The one question I had for you was how bad the battery drain with LTE on was? I turned off the LTE on my watch 4 classic because it wasn't all that good
I have the watch4 classic and the batteries good enough where I can put it on the charger when I start making breakfast and get a full days charge including a 2hr workout and sleep tracking. Small battery in the thing charges up stupid quick.
What do you mean battery life is terrible? When I end a day, I'm usually at 70-78% that's listening to music, texting, having it monitor stress/steps/hr continuously. Then at night I sleep with it on and once I get up I'm usually around 59-60% range.
Wow, you must have gotten a good watch. There are many of us that aren't able to get the same results. I charge my 5 LTE, using only the same features as my 3 LTE but get lesser results. I'm lucky to get 8 hrs.
@nettegain4615 to be fair I have a watch 6 classic 47mm LTE version not watch 5 pro, I also sleep with my watch on for sleep tracking and charge it once I get up for 10 minutes due to it being around 75% after sleeping and the day before. I'll also say with starting this new job(factory) I tried to wear it to work and had left my phone in hoodie pocket in break room, and watch ended up dying by last break(5:30am from starting work at 11pm) which this has never happen, my guess is where my phone was possibly too far away or all the machinery in the plant interfered with the Bluetooth connection idk.
Samsung needs a Watch Pro Classic so the 3 days of battery from the Watch5 Pro (and all Tizen based watches) and the rotating bezel that is the best navigation on any smartwatch. I want to upgrade my Watch3 but I'm not willing to accept under 3 days of battery just yet. If it's full two days maybe but 1,5 days is just too little.
I use fall alert, Continuous Heart monitor, and check the time 3×/day and get a few texts that I might read on my phone. I'm getting 6-9 hrs. Same settings as my 3 LTE which lasts all day
Help! The screen referenced at 2:50 to disable the 3,2,1 countdown...where is it? I want to set mine to manual but can't find the setting. Thanks for your help.
I didn't even know that ending workout (menu) can be done with swipe. Since Watch4 Classic I used short push of bottom button (the same that pause workout on long push) and menu appear immediately. I never had any problems and am really confused someone struggles with this.
Right now for many people the new $449 Garmin Venu 3/3s...is the current best smartwatch. It's more accurate/GPS/Heart and battery life is measured in weeks not days. Can't wait for Mike to do a review...
Just bought this for my wife, so still sorting it out. One down side (though not a deal-breaker) is the watch band for the Watch 6 fails to stay attached (I understand this is not an uncommon issue). I'll be getting her a band for the Watch 4 or 5 (which are both compatable with the Watch 6) that has a more reliable attachment (though perhaps more difficult for some to attach/detach than the new bands).
I know this sounds silly, but I still have not gotten used to the button placements since the switch from Tizen to WearOS. The home button used to be the bottom button and the back button used to be the top button and I still just randomly press the buttons sometimes and hope it's what I meant to do 😂
I bought the 43mm Classic and I love it but the battery life is obsoletely terrible. I barely get a day and a half and that's after completely disabling LTE from Auto to Always Off. I really expected more from this updated generation watch but I am hoping some updates will help it out (cue the laughter).
Well, a day and a half is right in the range Samsung says it will do. So its working as advertised. Not their fault if you cannot read or comprehend that.
@@EricK-vw5wh Not sure you read my reply fully. I am only barely getting a day and a half AFTER I disable major and minor functionality of the watch which we should not have to do when the watch and battery are brand new.
@@EricK-vw5wh I changed several settings but the LTE made the biggest change. The thing is that leaving LTE in AUTO should have been enough. All other LTE watches I have owned, AUTO works fine preventing LTE from operating until needed. This is the first watch, including past Galaxy watches, that leaving it in AUTO still drained the battery. That was my main point.
Thanks! I appreciate your breakdowns and opinions. I switched from the Watch 5 Pro just because i thought it was supposed to be faster but i guess that was my mistake. Im waiting for my 6 Classic to Arrive and i hope the problem has been fixed.
Thinking about flip to the other side due its lack of accuracy. All most recent apple watches are doing a good job on that. Samsung definitely should improve those data.
I got a Pixel 7 pro and i'm not sure if i should go ahead and buy the galaxy watch 6 or wait for pixel watch 2. What do you recommend Mike? Cheers for a great review btw.
I put my watch on as soon as i get home from work since i work with tools and metal. Ive passed out i in my bed with my watch on by accident, and surprisingly, i didnt feel any discomfort. I also had tiny wrist for a man and use the 47mm since they didnt have the smaller one in stock. Still looks dope and not uncomfortable
I just got mine, and it will not connect to my phone. The Bluetooth pairing works, then when it tries to upload software to the watch, it just says Network error. I found out Samsung support is terrible. Online chat wasn't working. A phone call is pushed to texting support. It took over 6 hours for them to respond, and their response is to bring it to a service center, they won't do the slightest amount of troubleshooting with me. I've spent hours and hours trying to get the software uploaded from my Galaxy S22. It looks like I'll be sending it back for a refund.
Mike, thanks. Is yours a 47mm? Is the battery life on the 43mm about the same, given smalle battery but smaller screen? Also, doesn't the Pro 5 have dual band for GPS plus better battery and also shares the updated software?
Well your first mistake is charging it overnight you don't have to when you get home at night 50% throw it on a charger 30 minutes later it's fully charged and ready to use for sleeping and 8% 10 at the most in the morning you throw it back on the charger jump in the shower or grab a cup of coffee and it's full again
Hi, could you let me know where is there video you talked about comparing the other smart watch is? Because I'm thinking of buying it but need to know which smart watch is the best? :D
I've had it now for a month. The updates from Samsung must have helped. There is no longer any lag. I agree with what you said concerning using the fitness app.
I work in a pretty dusty environment. I am a little concerned about getting dust under the bezel. Not to mention overall durability. Currently using the 5 pro.
Well samsung seems like they gonna update their watch lineup every 2 years. 4 classic - 5 pro - 6 classic - 7 pro. So you should get 7 pro if you want durability
I'm planning on upgrading my Galaxy Watch 4 classic for the new one. I had for 2 years. For some reason, my Galaxy Watch 4 classic battery drains faster at home while it drains slowly elsewhere.
I had the classic 6 47mm LTE, the second day in the office, 3x overheated and battery was 0% after 12h. The third day I disabled everything, 1x overheated and after 30min lunch break walk with gps tracking, battery was 0% after 15h from last fully charge. What a dissapointment. No way this is an extension of your phone, battery life is so bad you cant use it like they promote it. After a few days I returned it. Can't believe this is the best watch of 2023 😒
That's such a strange design for stopping the timer/lap. That definitely needs more obvious in-your-face operation. I have heard about the GPS being inaccurate, but good to know this watch doesn't use multiband GPS. I did hear they now have customizable heart rate zones, which I use often when training, but I'm hoping Samsung (or anyone) releases a Bluetooth chest strap accessory. The animation lag wouldn't be a show-stopper for me. Great review!👍🏽👍🏽
Ha ha..you said you regret not having the silver one. As I watched your vid, I was regretting not getting the black! I guess they are both very nice. I love my watch by the way. Great review
I dont get why the baterie life is so bad, i used a honor magic watch 2 for ablut 2 years now, its a big watch the same size as the samsung watches. And i charged it every 2 weaks
I don't find that the steps is inaccurate. I have walked for about 15 to 20 steps and they never log. Is there a way to make it work properly? A possible sensitive adjustment.
If i turn off the AOD on watch 6 classic 47, wifi, automatic google play update, and also turn off the sensors, and only use the nigth sleep tracking and bluetooth connection and messages, how many days can i extend the battery life?
Ive got the watch 6. Not experienced the bzel nonsense but withtje reviews it makes you wonder. The 6 is fine although goven a choice id probably go for the 44mm bit this was a free upgrade. Its lost 30% all day. Thats a slow day but its not an issue. Just charge it in the morning when im in the shower done.
Mike, did you have a battery issue where having Google Assistant set as the default and having AOD on, the battery reeeeeally drains? Assistant ended up consuming 30% of my battery 🤯
I just sold my 6 Classic. Got about 46% of retail for it after lowering the price down from 58% to 56% to 50% over a couple weeks, on Swappa. I'm thinking about getting a Garmin or just going back to mechanical dive watches. I enjoyed the 6 Classic but the battery was sort of driving me crazy. It was enough for one solid day of notifications, my daily 3-4 mile walk, and then for the next day until lunchtime-ish. Coming from an Apple Watch Ultra, this just made me go back to battery anxiety and it was not fun. I will be interested to see what they do with Pixel Watch 2, but the Garmins with the month-long battery is just sounding like a better fit, I dunno. Also, considering a month after release I got less than 50% retail, that's not a great sign so I'm kinda glad I moved it before the values really tank.
I love the Galaxy Watch line and would love to buy one but its heart rate is indeed really inaccurate especially in gym bodybuilding exercises. Several times I caught myself on overdoing cardio HIIT exercises because I thought I am not in zone 5 yet but I was already. I was taken to the hospital several times because i felt bad after overtraining. That's when I had to get Apple Watch Ultra instead. I really hate Apple Watch Ultra cause I always have to carry an iPhone just for watch and Pixel as my main device in my pocket. In addition, Siri and voice dictation are dumb in comparison with Google Assistant but I have to tolerate it just for health and accuracy. I wish someone on the android would invent a smartwatch with high heart rate accuracy for gym exercises
Things i hate about my GW6C - not smooth and Laggy even when changing animation to 0.5x even if i turn it off - swipe right for notifications really? - Whatsapp notifications delay - rotating bezel not accurate as small crown - didn't find the perfect watch face yet - buttons can be more customizable Things i like: - Google assistant - not bad battery life (~2 days) - customizations - accurate heart rate and gps - good looking watch
Samsung makes rolls out a new one yearly. Plus huge incentives to trade in. The battery is going to dwindle as time passes no matter what brand u purchase. Unless u purchase a much more expensive smart watch as u mentioned Garmin. Again it works best with a Samsung phone just like the Apple watch works best with their phone. Any way u look at it they want u back to buy again in the future. The screen is very vibrant and a bit snappy over its predecessors. The rotating bezel is like ice on the cake. But at the very least i want to know the time so if i for example travel and for some reason have no good charging opportunity didn't plan ahead i'd like at least the watch powering through it. Or if i have a day with much sports i don't want to worry about the charge of my watch.
So the Pro 5 would be for you, as it has better battery life.
The fit 3 is a good option for you even though it's not really a watch but rather a fitness band
I have both Watch6 Pro and Huawei Gt 3. I must say the battery life is unprecedented with my Huawei Watch.
I turned off the LTE on my watch 4 classic because it wasn't all that good
On the lag point, I have the 4 Classic. If raise to wake is activated, there's no lag on bezel scrolling whatsoever.
I have the watch4 classic and the batteries good enough where I can put it on the charger when I start making breakfast and get a full days charge including a 2hr workout and sleep tracking.
Small battery in the thing charges up stupid quick.
Can i buy watch 4 classic 46mm Bluetooth version in 2023, please reply
What do you mean battery life is terrible? When I end a day, I'm usually at 70-78% that's listening to music, texting, having it monitor stress/steps/hr continuously. Then at night I sleep with it on and once I get up I'm usually around 59-60% range.
Wow, you must have gotten a good watch. There are many of us that aren't able to get the same results. I charge my 5 LTE, using only the same features as my 3 LTE but get lesser results. I'm lucky to get 8 hrs.
That's great! You're the exception. I rarely get a full 24 hours.
Mike you never disappoint with your reviews 🙂
Thank you! I appreciate your support :)
In the developer options u can make it more quicker when scrolling. It cuts all the animation away
Battery life seems fine...I use sleep tracking every night and end up charging the watch like every other day. Not too bad.
Just switched to the classic from the apple watch ultra. The lag on the Samsung is shocking. But it's a cool watch otherwise and I love the design
I switched also. Kind of regretted it. Seems and feels like a toy compared to my ultra
@@mikeh4650 at least you're away from Apple's horrible lock in ecosystem. Also did you pay as much for it ? no, you didn't so STFU
The price is shocking too😅
Just bought this for my wife, so still sorting it out.
For each workout you can set the workout to end when you reach your target... example for running if you reach 5k it will stop the workout on its own
Thanks for the review.
Yes, Silver looks more premium.
Silver is the true color for a "classic" model, black is for a "pro" model
I know this sounds silly, but I still have not gotten used to the button placements since the switch from Tizen to WearOS. The home button used to be the bottom button and the back button used to be the top button and I still just randomly press the buttons sometimes and hope it's what I meant to do 😂
Hi i'll buy this watch tomorrow but i have to know your opinion whether the black or silver color is the best
2 days? Really? 7:21 based on your body language doesn't sound true 🤣Everybody keeps telling it drains less than 18 hours!
@@CF542 you disabled one feature. ONE. LTE which is known to absolutely chew through battery on any smartwatch.
I was told to put in airplane mode or not use it for anything but telling time. The 3 LTE is way better 🤔
2:35 It doesn't work on my watch. Is there a fix for it then please tell me 😢
Excellent review, and very helpful. You answered every question I had, and I just ordered one with my S24 Ultra.
Thanks! I appreciate your breakdowns and opinions. I switched from the Watch 5 Pro just because i thought it was supposed to be faster but i guess that was my mistake. Im waiting for my 6 Classic to Arrive and i hope the problem has been fixed.
Rotating bezel is back? F yessss! Time to upgrade from my G. watch 3!
Thinking about flip to the other side due its lack of accuracy. All most recent apple watches are doing a good job on that. Samsung definitely should improve those data.
10:16 Please tell me, the watch face name bro or the link for download it. Thanks
I really like the watch face, can you share ng name of the watch face @ 10:23.
I use Google home on the Galaxy Watches. I don't use Google assist as it drain ur battery even when not in use
I got a Pixel 7 pro and i'm not sure if i should go ahead and buy the galaxy watch 6 or wait for pixel watch 2. What do you recommend Mike?
Cheers for a great review btw.
Personally I just got the 6 Classic because I'm expecting the next Pixel watch won't be a vast improvement.
Just got my Watch6. I love it so much.
At what price you got ?
@@vibhor9216 USD 262.
I couldn't wait for your review to order the watch 6 classic. Its arriving tomorrow hopefully
What is your opinion in upgrading to the 6 from the active2?
Great video! Tempted to go for the Silver 6 Classic.
You are right on. The fact that you can't press 1 button to pause or stop a workout really sucks. I really hope this can be fixed via update.
Looking to upgrade from watch 2 active to (either) watch 5 or 6 classic.
Which would YOU choose & why?
I've had it now for a month. The updates from Samsung must have helped. There is no longer any lag. I agree with what you said concerning using the fitness app.
Great summarization review. Do you think the all the cons you mentioned could be fixed through a software update?
Your review is based on 43mm or 47mm watch? Do the 47mm provide better battery backup than 43mm?
I work in a pretty dusty environment. I am a little concerned about getting dust under the bezel. Not to mention overall durability. Currently using the 5 pro.
Well samsung seems like they gonna update their watch lineup every 2 years. 4 classic - 5 pro - 6 classic - 7 pro. So you should get 7 pro if you want durability
You spoke about 'intervals", so Can you make HIIT exercices with this watch ? It's just for health benenfits, even if it's not 100% accuracy?
How big is your wrist (circumference at the wristbone)? I'm not sure if I should get the small or large version of the watch.
Worth getting for stuff like mountain biking and stuff? I'm not a super active guy but always liked smart watch stuff
I'm planning on upgrading my Galaxy Watch 4 classic for the new one. I had for 2 years. For some reason, my Galaxy Watch 4 classic battery drains faster at home while it drains slowly elsewhere.
Nice review video, keeping up the good work🔥🔥👍
I had the classic 6 47mm LTE, the second day in the office, 3x overheated and battery was 0% after 12h. The third day I disabled everything, 1x overheated and after 30min lunch break walk with gps tracking, battery was 0% after 15h from last fully charge. What a dissapointment. No way this is an extension of your phone, battery life is so bad you cant use it like they promote it. After a few days I returned it. Can't believe this is the best watch of 2023 😒
I wish I had returned mine!
good reviews... thanks for information. Cheers
Btw, the plants very intrusive
That's such a strange design for stopping the timer/lap. That definitely needs more obvious in-your-face operation. I have heard about the GPS being inaccurate, but good to know this watch doesn't use multiband GPS. I did hear they now have customizable heart rate zones, which I use often when training, but I'm hoping Samsung (or anyone) releases a Bluetooth chest strap accessory. The animation lag wouldn't be a show-stopper for me. Great review!👍🏽👍🏽
What's good about no multiband GPS?
Can you recommend me buying Watch 6 Classic 47mm LTE? First time user. Have no previous watch.
Ha ha..you said you regret not having the silver one. As I watched your vid, I was regretting not getting the black! I guess they are both very nice. I love my watch by the way. Great review
How's the battery life of Watch 6 Classic compared to the other watch you've been trying in the meantime? 😁
Please tell me the other android smartwatch is the beta version of the Pixel Watch 2
I dont get why the baterie life is so bad, i used a honor magic watch 2 for ablut 2 years now, its a big watch the same size as the samsung watches. And i charged it every 2 weaks
Is the video out for the mystery Android watch? I'm about to pull the trigger on a watch six classic, but want to make sure I'm making the right call.
I don't find that the steps is inaccurate. I have walked for about 15 to 20 steps and they never log. Is there a way to make it work properly? A possible sensitive adjustment.
So if im going to get a watch should i wait for the one you're going to compare it to later?
If i turn off the AOD on watch 6 classic 47, wifi, automatic google play update, and also turn off the sensors, and only use the nigth sleep tracking and bluetooth connection and messages, how many days can i extend the battery life?
Is the watch 6 classic shown in the video is 43mm or 47mm size ?
Is there a function for jump rope and if there is does it count the number of jumps
I'm really enjoying your videos. Any chance you're an LDS?
Ive got the watch 6. Not experienced the bzel nonsense but withtje reviews it makes you wonder. The 6 is fine although goven a choice id probably go for the 44mm bit this was a free upgrade.
Its lost 30% all day. Thats a slow day but its not an issue. Just charge it in the morning when im in the shower done.
4:20 is it the Pixel Watch 2 🤭 Can't wait!!
Is there much difference between the galaxy watch 4 classic 46mm and the 6 classic?
Can we accept or reject a call on the watch ? Like fit 2 do .
what was the watch face with the green radar like furst at the beginning part of the video?
Hi Mike, Do you have the opportunity to compare this smartwatch with the OPPO watch 4 pro? Cheers
Could the performance be due to Android WearOS itself?
Do you think the balck color is better than the silver one???
Hi, doesn't it only take not much longer than an hour to charge? So then you could wear it to bed for tracking.
Mike, did you have a battery issue where having Google Assistant set as the default and having AOD on, the battery reeeeeally drains? Assistant ended up consuming 30% of my battery 🤯
Experienced same on my 47mm GW6 Classic. Thankfully, I dont mind going without Google Assistant. So I just uninstalled it.
Great content. Can't you turn off animations like on the phone? It should make more snappier
Things i hate about my GW6C
- not smooth and Laggy even when changing animation to 0.5x even if i turn it off
- swipe right for notifications really?
- Whatsapp notifications delay
- rotating bezel not accurate as small crown
- didn't find the perfect watch face yet
- buttons can be more customizable
Things i like:
- Google assistant
- not bad battery life (~2 days)
- customizations
- accurate heart rate and gps
- good looking watch
For someone who never had an Smart watch... should i get this one or the watch 5?
Samsung makes rolls out a new one yearly. Plus huge incentives to trade in. The battery is going to dwindle as time passes no matter what brand u purchase. Unless u purchase a much more expensive smart watch as u mentioned Garmin. Again it works best with a Samsung phone just like the Apple watch works best with their phone. Any way u look at it they want u back to buy again in the future. The screen is very vibrant and a bit snappy over its predecessors. The rotating bezel is like ice on the cake. Very nice watch asthetically much better Apple.
I get a solid 3 days at least not more actually yesterday I got three and a half days I have everything on the only thing I have off is always on display and GPS the battery is amazing
