if you don't mind me recommending. 5 in strate pipe is hands-down the way to go if you're gonna spend the money on exhaust. It sounds 10 times better. My truck sounds like a Peterbilt brother. 5 inch straight pipe with an 8 x 15" tip, trust me you'll drool when you hear it. I have tested 3 inch 4 inch and 5 inch with different tips and muffler set ups. The best sound on the diesel was a 5 inch strate with the 8 x 15 tip.
Buddy your exhaust tip is a garbage can. Always looks better just running same diameter pipe all the way to exit. Stop compensating and putting skirts on your exhaust lol
When I pulled the head on my 96 12V Cummins at 450,000 miles cylinder 6 had far more wear than 1-4. 5 had a lot too. I attribute that to the rear cylinders running hotter. I plan to do Fleece bypass on on my latest truck, 98 24-valve.
Good video long time diesel owner I’m hot shot put 400,000 on 04 3rd gen got 728,000 on 2nd gen 675,000 on 4th gen an 100,000 on duramax if I would done coolant by pads I would saved head gadget on my 4 th fen it cost me 8000
karl's BHAF intake is that exact intake you have plug-and-play. It's only like 250 bucks. Absolutely the best intake. I would recommend building a heat shroud on the exhaust side of that filter to try to keep some of your heat away. I built a custom box and it dimmed down my whistle quite a bit😞
I noticed my heat shield is missing and I was wondering if you think before I repaint my truck (and hood) should I get another heat shield for my hood or leave it?

Do tips effect the difference in sound? Does it make it echo or resonate differently??

your air intake is now a hot air intake, factory air box would perform better as it pulls cool air from the fender.
Good common sense video hoping my truck has same
Leak with oil
By pass did coolant by pass on 3rd gen well worth it
