I think she did a fantastic job considering her vocal condition here. Her belting is off (which it's been off constantly for years we know by now though we still get those moments when she's great and not just good or bad) but her technique in her mid and lower register seems to still improve. Her voice is truly unique. When her belting is better, her lower range is not as clean. When her lower range is more clean, her belting is raspy and not as consistent. No matter how you look at it, she's a true vocalist. She knows how to make up for lost clarity using different techniques and registers. She's taught me a lot about singing just by me watching her.

Ya know, I was baggin on her voice since like 2006 when I saw her "The Emancipation of Mimi" blu ray I was like, "WTF is this???" her voice was totally shot like dead like she was struggling sooooo bad I can't believe she allowed that blu ray to be released. Then I found out she had polyps in her vocal chords so I can understand it all now with all the strain she's put on her vocal cords for years. It's like one of the worst things that can happen to such high register singers. Once you get those, you're done. Even with surgery you can never have the same glory as you did before, especially when this is your career. I love everything from her debut album all the way to rainbow. The Daydream era Mariah I had such a crushy crush on. I still love her and thanks yall for clarifying that for me. My faith in her skills has been restored. Poor girl, that sucks....

I can't fault her for her vocals here, though, since this song is ridiculous regardless of what key you put it in. I don't know any singer that can do this song justice anymore except for maybe Morisette Amon and that's still not as good as what Mariah used to do back in the day. But compared to how people say she can't sing at all anymore, this is a relief to see because this was still better than like 95% of the people who are famous pop singers nowadays lol
