Awesome fret rocker technique to set the trem up (better than the 1/2 block that most people use). I tried it on my Strat earlier and it's the best yet! Keep em' coming Dave and CHEERS from Fort Worth, Texas! ;)

I totally agree, the lemon is just for the scent. im just wondering if the linseed oil will not give a kind of "varnish" effect once it polymerizes. what i've heard is that can fill very well the microscopics grains of the wood incrising resistance against dents......i should try sometimes...cheers mate

dave you should have tapped the fretlevel to the body aswel as having tape behind it to stop it scratching the body. it would not have fallen off then because the tape would secure it to the body. but u could still see check when its released from the tension, even if it is taped on.
just an idea. im not the pro, but it could be useful for ya.

hey Dave, what is the prob with lemon oil? i got that Kaiser stringfellow once, and works quite well, apart from the smell. Well, i never used linseed oil, so i cant compare. thats why im asking you...cheers mate!

question: Why do almost all modern guitars come with a two post tremolo? I have converted several to a six screw. I find them hard to trust!

The strat came back the very next day. Despite technical difficulties this 1 had it's a cool guitar. Reminds me of the late 80s strat plus models but closer view shows it isn't .
maybe an early Jeff Beck model but with EMGs retro-fitted? 'cos that looks like a chunky neck on there and they were basically like a Strat Plus - when did the JB strats lose the roller nut? EDIT: just noticed the cut-away neckplate and neck-tilt. now i have no idea, sorry

4:26 - Im never surprised that people still use Lemon oil. ever since you turned me around to use Linseed oil, my workbench has been smelling of the stuff. You've never mentioned that Linseed oil stinks!
Thats curious (and so is the negative votes on my comment - really?) I dont know if its the brand I use of the fact that the UK version has more/less in it. theres definately a smell when using it and my bench stinks of the stuff. I still prefer it to lemon oil tho :)

As you know the music biz is a total corncob up the ass fraud. Hell a landscaper boss I worked for here in southern Illinois was a struggling Nashville coffeehouse strummer/crooner. Marty Robbins' manager liked 4 of his tunes and arranged "A Meeting" with Marty's label.
Outcome? The poor sap gets paid $300 and his music is signed over to Marty and the label's in house hired monkey salaried writers.
