Watching wildlife eat - otter pups, herons, and alligator feast on fish and eels at Circle B Bar Reserve and Lake Hollingsworth in Lakeland, Florida. Otter pups tearing apart mom's fresh catch. Great blue heron stretches neck twice its size to swallow fish, while little blue heron strikes and downs 12 eels in an hour leaving me to wonder "how does it all fit in that small body?!" Alligator snags fish and down it goes - even 50 feet from shoreline I can still hear the the chomping!

I don't know how that heron got that big fish down his throat without choking! That reminds me to chew my food. I'm glad everyone is getting enough to eat, except it's not so great for the fish and eels..... It's so nice you get to be out in Nature while doing something you love! I was watching and wondering as well! Would that fish make it down the heron’s throat? I also couldn’t believe how many eels that little blue heron managed to swallow in such a short period of time - how did it all digest, I wonder? Glad you enjoyed watching!
