Something I noticed while playing yesterday is that clearing with a flare gauge always gave me three stars toward extra stage regardless of letter grade. I think that alone will always make it worth it to play with flare on lmao.
even if playing FLARE I? i have managed to clear decently hard songs on FLARE IX, and some easier ones on FLARE EX (lose life if you get Perfect or below)
@@_lun4r_yep! Just played last weekend and it’s always 3 stars for Flare clear regardless of tier. You just have to pass the song so it’s either full credit or no credit.
I think the concept of saying a player being better than another just because they use a Flare Gauge is kinda where I feel lost. Just cause if a player is already good at getting high scores, but doesn’t use a Flare Gauge and if you put that against someone how does use it and their accuracies are the same (if not very very close), it’s hard to sell that someone objectively is better just because they use the Flare Gauge. If someone wants to use the Flare Gauge then awesome, but a player who chooses not to but can still execute good scores and all shouldn’t be seen as a “lesser” player just because they lacked the use of the Flare Gauge.
Exactly. Who wants to try and EX a 16/17 and basically forfeit the song if they get a miss. Waste of money unless you are extremely consistent at PFCing 17s. It's like tournament pressure all the time.
Is anyone saying this though? Flare skill is an option, so I don't think anyone (with common sense) would consider it an objective marker of skill. If you and I play the same chart and I EX clear it with a 995k and you PFC it, it's pretty clear who did better. We can still look at EX score and things like that. I'm a little more concerned about how they'll be using this rank for unlocks, but not that much.
@@fnscomedycrew who wants to try and EX a 16/17? The people who think they can do it, I imagine. No different than how I imagine people approach wanting to Life4/Risky clear something (just with different criteria, of course)
@@wwpl8371 That's exactly what the game is saying though... It's a lesser issue if you can consistently PFC 17s to get world rank and are upper bracket. Guessing you are one of said people? Still annoying to use because HUGEDILF in that video on your profile, for example, would have likely flare EX failed that 17 even with only 36 perfects (2 miss 2 good).
Thanks for covering this! It's good to know now that classic songs contribute seperately from white and gold. I'm a big fan of it overall
I've been wanting to request an explanation for flare skill 😊

No one is saying people who use flare gauge are better
You are inventing things to get mad over
