I used my Softie 6 this summer and im very happy with it. The temerature ratings are rated when a soldier sleeps with the uniforme on so a 0 Celsius bag is more of a 10 Celsius bag if you just sleep in your underwear like i do. The only thing i dont like is that the zipper snags a bit but other then that they make great bags at a great price.

Hi Hippyswfity, I'm from the UK like yourself, would this be suitable for the coldest of British winter camping, I know its rated down to -5 but could I truly trust this to keep me warm? Whats your personal experience :)

Hi Lucas, get the special forces 2 sleeping bag for proper winter, or if you always wake up cold go for the osprey bag 👍 thanks for the comment 😁

The osprey sleeping bag looks very comfortable and warm, I have issues with my skin and its important everything is super soft and feels lovely for health reasons, is the hawk nice and soft ? Or should I go for the osprey :)

Both the hawk and osprey bags are made from the same paratex lite inner material. If you would like a super soft inner to the bags all of the time, I use the tactical sleeping bags which feature a thermal soft inner 👍 similar prices too

It'll do you very well 👍 I was always cold in the mornings, my tips for keeping warm are thick socks, thin wool hat, food & good hydration to keep your body's metabolism up 😁

How does this compare to the Elite 4.
I want to get back into hiking / camping this year after several years break and was thinking about the Snugpak Elite 4, but now find it's ot of stock everywhere ... obviously a very good bag then ?
the hawk does seem available and at about the same sort of price .. is it any good, or is the Elite 4 better by a long way?
    thanks

The elite range is made in china, the hawk is UK made, compacts better and better quality.

Compress it down all the way, in the Marines our style was basically compressing an elephant into an gnats ass, gotta be forceful and aggressive with it
