If you own a Honda Navi you already know it could use more power down low (acceleration). Honestly this was my only gripe with this motorcycle. All it takes is a super simple performance upgrade. Anyone with a decent tool set can install it in under 20 minutes. We are talking about the Honda Navi variator rollers. By installing lighter rollers or sliders, depending on your preference, it will raise the overall engine rpm resulting in much much better acceleration on your Navi. Not to mention you won’t loose speed on big hills. Honda navi CVT modifications will help utilize the engines power. Out of the box the Navi is set up as a fuel saver. This is fine, but not for performance. It keeps the rpm range very low to keep the mpg up.

I would probably go with 10-11 gram rollers, maybe 10&11's. I'm running 4&6 in my qmb, I need slightly heavier, but couldn't find 5g when I needed them, so I went lighter on the spring, but still needs tuning, it has all the power on bottom, but about 50 mph it is revving over 10k rpm, it is a 50 mm bore, with over size valves cam, carb exhaust intake, the ncy cam I'm not sure what it supposed to be, I'm thinking maybe I go back to the a9 ,. I'm running stock springs, with a extra shim under them, with stock retainers, but I do have titanium retainers, I'm thinking maybe I'll use in the next engine, I'm going to build a 52.4bore engine, and try to get a custom ground cam, or a regrind, I believe a lot more power is capable from these little engines, with a better cam, the airsol piston made a big difference, along with the about 3mm larger valves, 160 psi compression, I'd like to get that to 185- 200psi, I want it to still run in 93 octane, although I wouldn't mind adding race gas concentrate, to the gas, for about 98octane, I'd really like to get some av100, at least mix it 50/50 with 93, the added o2 can require a larger jet, I should be ok, being I'm about 1-2 sizes large, my jet kit didn't come with what I seemed to need, with the smaller jet it had a slight hesitation , the needle is all the way up, that fixed the hesitation at near full throttle, it still has some down low , but 90% of the time, it's either on and off the throttle, or full throttle, I have a 22mm cv carb I have slightly modified so the stock throttle cable will fit, but it's at a angle ant so high it hits the seat bucket, it's for a Yamaha I think, a100cc or something, it just feels like there isn't enough carb, at full throttle it feels like it's only about 3/4 throttle, I need to put the aftermarket adjustable driven pulley, it seems to keep the engine bogged down, but then going up hill it doesn't seem to down shift like it should. I have had issues with the pin holes wearing out, I saw on 49cc scoot,. He had some roller pins from something, that may be what I need, or just a quality driven pulley! The beating spring seat didn't seem do do anything, before I change anything, I want to change the rear tire, to the larger one, the tiny one makes it run better, lower gearing, but it may fix the over revving in top, swapping to the larger tire, the smaller is my spare, sorry to ramble, 😆

I believe if I build the 52.4bore engine it would hang with the navi, especially if I can get the compression where I want it. And two of them are 150's so surely a big bore, built 150 would be faster than the navi!??;!?

Awesome man. I was waiting for you to come up with something for the Navi. The only performance mod ive done so far is the air intake and man did it wake up. I started with a 90° 1.5" tube with a mishimoto coupling and an oval filter. Started bogging on me at hard throttle so i just cut a straight section and have the filter directly behind the carb and slightly adjusted the idle. No issues feels and sounds great. ill do these 13g rollers and see how it feels. Waiting on vance and hines exhaust coming out next month then ill jet the carb and throw in a Ncy clutch. Im really enjoying mine alot and I have buddies here in New Orleans that also have Navis so we do group rides.

I don't understand why lighter rollers improve performance. Wouldn't you need heavier rollers to increase the centrifugal force and therefore push on the plate harder?

Why would you buy a 110cc and try to make it faster when you can buy a 150cc or 300cc or more...with fuel injection and abs plus bigger rear wheel ..

someone who bought a bike on the cheap, and then after owning it for awhile wanted a little more power, just as an example. Or someone who just likes that particular bike. People like Groms despite there being larger cheaper options.
