this is nice! I'm on the lookout for a cheap 2 stroke scooter. before this video, I was avoiding all 50s.. but this changed my mind

In my area houston (big city) these honda elites and zuma prebugs are incredibly hard to get deals on they sell super fast like within the hr of being posted I landed a 2000 purple elite 50 sr 2 weeks ago I got in a bidding war thing ran up to 1300$ be guy said come get it give u 1 owner all paper work and titles in hand all stock ! Took me 5 years to find one with a title and stock ... lol places like Cali and AZ they seem to be more available I guess you would call it more of them way cheaper not in texas though
normal 50cc 2 stroke should go 40mph..... without anything blocking on varioator.... just get sport exhoust it will go almost 50mph
Just change it to 70cc later on if it feels slow

I Had a new Elite back in 1990. In Australia they would do more than 40MPH from the factory which is about 60-70KMPH

For me w kymco super 9 is a good 2 stroke 50 I literally did every mod u could do to it and I got it to go 65 mph 55 up hills

the variator only changed topspeed for me and when i put lighter rolls in it didnt accelarate like it used to

The Piaggio hyper2 engine in my opinion is the best for building, and the Piaggio zips are the best for wheelies

@@teun3526 it is, engine was rebuild with new crankshaft and bearings on 15kkm because was crap from the factory, and still working today, with original cylinder and piston
I was doing a lot 300-400-500-600km road trips with that scooter with no fear, always on full throttle

So i scored a elite 50 sr i know thats the unrestricted US model . With there being so many damn options you can do with af16e and all the af18 parts from japan and overseas . You think a variator is even worth it gains wise . My thought is keep it stock until it needs a top end . Thinkin yellow contra , variators and rollers maybe a fresh clutch. Just not sure which variator readup the polini and malossi seem to be the go to and some say kelly . BUT overseas it seems alot of the dio af18 guys run TWH brand parts . What ya think ? Also noticed theres a couple different size variators for the af16/af18 which and why ? Im all ears on this
You ever have an existential crisis about having a garage packed with bikes? xD I got 99 problems and 12 of them are 2 strokes and sometimes I have a "why did I do this" moment lol. But I love 'em. Hate selling too because more often than not they get trashed by new owner and it hurts to see. Tryna get the homies to ride is a chore as well 🤣

The unrestricted model for US is the Honda elite 50 Sr ! Mine stock runs 40 ish + !

Is there difference in 2 stroke 50cc vs a 4 stroke 50cc ? I have a 4stroke 50 thats almost 485lbs and a 2stroke 50cc thats not even 300lbs
reliable and not super fun or not as reliable and more fun
2 strokes only for me
2 stroke has twice the power of a 4 stroke. The upgrades he showed in this vid will only work on 2 stroke not 4 stroke scooters

You’ll spend a lot more money trying to build a 4 stroke than a 2 stroke scooter and still probably not be as fast as a built 2 stroke
Yo my stock 50cc yamaha bws will barely idle but dies as soon as i even touch the throttle. Every part is new, good compression spark, everything. Got any tips on tuning the carb so i can get it to run?
I have a Roma superhornet 150 that was doing the same thing. I'm not a tinkerer myself so I just paid to have the carb cleaned and tuned. Works just fine now
Mine did 74 km/h on a stock 50cc with a malossi variator kit and a technigas pipe, I crashed it unfortunately.

this is af16. there’s no real aftermarket for af05 sadly

mine is 4stroke what can i do i want to it go faster and accelerate quicker
What i would do: Unrestricted CDI, remove the restrictor plate / ring from the variator if there is one (improves top speed) + use lighter rolls (should improve acceleration). You could also go for a complete sport variator like a malossi multivar. Also check if the valve clearance of the engine is on spec. That is according to my knowledge though and I can’t say if it will have much effect on your specific bike. Hope this helps

I come from Germany and found a Honda Elite-e 50 for 40€ . yes, it is a US model because the model was never available in Germany. How do I get more performance from the good Elite-E? 50km/h is too slow for me. I would be very happy if you can help
There are no spare parts in Germany either, which is why I had to adapt a pocket bike carburettor to the elite-e engine 😂😂😂 maybe a Peugeot speedfight exhaust will also fit the elite-e
they don’t make much aftermarket for elite e because it’s the af05 engine, you’re better of swapping it with an af16 engine if you want more speed

yes but it would take you a lot longer to reach speed and takeoff will be rough with just 50cc
Not worth it on a 50, the engine would barely be able to rev up

Motivate me to put upgrades on the Scooter? I just brought a Brand spanking New Suzuki V-strom, the scooters going to have to beg for attention... actually no, it needs to come apart to get some new rear wheel bearings, some plastic repairs, the restrictor was taken out very quickly, the exhaust may get changed. and I think I may have some jets to try. But the Main focus at this point is putting a Top box, Panyards and maybe some better foot pegs on the V-Strom
if you have a stock scooter but dont want to spend money take out all restrictors!!!!
my piaggio typhoon(1998) goes 50mph stock, just the restrictors taken off

Any european can give all the information you ever need to make it as fast as you want we use skipper engines with 180cc heads or hexagon engines
he chose the worst exhaust possible, not even an expansion pipe, it's just a less shittier version than the original one.

Glixal 7g variator sliders
Stock clutch & springs
Stock intake & Carb (#78 MJ)
Unbaffled Muffler
*Still tuning Carb & variator weights cause in top end feel very limited.

I just got my first scooter, 87 elite S, the non restricted one. Would this variator help to go faster, or just keep OEM one since it’s non restricted?
1987 had af05e engine so a bit different, you’d have to look more into those. i’ve never had any good luck messing with af05, hard to make any power with them

@@rowdysworld22they sell a different Polini variator for the af05. Af16 clutch fits, different pipe cylinder and intake. You can get maybe 50 out of em and they're tough little motors. Nowhere near the powerhouse of the Af16 but they do okay
50 doesn’t sound too bad, I just want to use it as a beer buggy and wheelie machine. I only paid $125 for it so I think I’ll keep it and try it out, any other suggestions to get more power out of it?
