I got an LG C1 when I got my series X. I can’t even put into words how much I love that tv. I’ve put over 600 hours on certain games where the ui is in the same spot and I’ve had no issue with burn in. I liked the C1 so much that I bought a smaller C2 Evo and made a little gamer set up, also love that tv a lot and I have zero complaints about it. Then I built a pc and went with the 34” ROG Swift curved 3440x1440p 240hz OLED and oh my. What a panel. I do miss having the true HDR, but that panel is no joke. Somehow a 1440p monitor puts certain 4k panels to shame. Anyway, if you want an OLED but are concerned about certain silly things, don’t be. You won’t regret switching to OLED.

Got the LG34GS95QE on sale a couple of weeks ago for a touch over £700. Very happy with the choice, used for gaming and work where i'd usually use 2-3 screens. Gameplay is amazing and the steep curve makes it very immersive. For work it is also great, plenty of real estate with split windows and ultra bright and clear text. (am next to a window too).

The ones larger than 32inch are excessive specifically the ones with like the 45inch Oled or the G9s while immersion is their i dont get how people actually enjoy the streched out look on most things 🤷‍♂️or atleast till they make 5120×2160 UW's

I had the two side by side for hours already on as close to equal settings as I could get. It’s pretty much a tie. It’s true that QD-OLED produces more colors but it’s not something you would outright notice. QD- OLED also has a red tint Where as W-OLED has a green tint. On their own you would probably not pick up on it. It side by side it is noticeable with the W-OLED’s green being more subtle. The red does make objects with red tints pop more which is nice when you are looking at brick buildings, wood and such but skin tones can sometimes look unnatural. There are trade offs for sure and it’s all down to preference.

DSC is widely considered visually lossless, so the human eye can’t tell the difference from native and DSC. Just use HDMI 2.1, not DisplayPort for your connection. yeah same doubts i have as with the alienware. just not perfect, but... now just saw this msi is for sale (black friday) for 599 euro. Good value. . May get it for that price to enjoy that upgrade for a few years. I was looking at alienware for 899 before. With monitors/tvs its tricky to wait for exactly for what u want, u can wait years lol. Will think about it :)

Glossy panels are a nightmare. They look great, but most people have a window or artificial light which negatively impacts the experience. Where as matte solves this. Samsung's newer OLEDs seem to try and solve this (S24 Ultra screen is incredible) - But can sometimes give off a green tinge. I have a C1 and C3 TV and the I'd make them both matte if I could.

I don't think they'll make a 38" oled ultrawide since you can produce many more 34" panels on a sheet, leading to more waste.. but I agree. It is the BEST resolution and size. I feel like 2" on the top would make a 34" better and a 38 has that and more. Let me know if one ever pops up.

I just got that AOC budget monitor. Found it just before I made a silly purchase of a £1000 monitor. It's pretty fantastic and does what you want.
My take on these monitors... Anything more than 240hz is too much. In 4k games you will struggle to achieve a FPS to use anything more than 200 HZ.
New panels will be coming out next year, including 27inch 4k and hopefully the market will be flooded making pricing cheaper.
