Got the LG34GS95QE on sale a couple of weeks ago for a touch over £700. Very happy with the choice, used for gaming and work where i'd usually use 2-3 screens. Love the energy and I couldn't agree more with your recommendations and conclusions. @@skyfaneco5837 It’s called “Down Stream Compression” (DSC). It’s a monitor tech that allows something like 4K 240hz to occur without the connection type required to get that spec natively. DSC is widely considered visually lossless, so the human eye can’t tell the difference from native and DSC. Just use HDMI 2.1, not DisplayPort for your connection. There will be considerably less compression with HDMI over DisplayPort. You’re fine.
same, I have this monitor paired with 4080 super and i7 14700. I had the 7800x3d but was way too slow for my productivity work and the i7 is fantastic for gaming too so not disappointed. I just have to be careful with OLED and productivity work, but at least you get the 3 year burn in peace of mind.
went from lg c2 42 to testing the 34gs95qe atm, i must say its excellent and the 34 with the curve is very nice but the dirty screen effect is annoying. also wqhd is definetly a step down even with higher ppi. i ordered the alienware 32 inch and cant wait to compare them and decide which i will keep. :D
just a quick warning, there is no burn in warranty, i found out about that after i got it, but i dont mind, i've taken pretty much all the measures you can to prevent burn in with windows such as the monitor turns itself off after 10 minutes of not being used and i've hidden the taskbar
Great video! One thing's missing, though: color profiles and color reproduction. For content creators and video editors, color grading is vital. How do these devices perform in that area?
@@AGreatMordhauPlayer it doesn’t matter? You’re not getting the same image quality.. 240Hz OLED looks the same as a 360Hz in terms of image smoothness. And if you looking for a 4k monitor you probably have a 4090.. so yes… 700 usd for 4k and 165Hz is better than that of 1440p 240Hz IPS..
So the first one at ~10:00 has only displayport 1.3 and hdmi 2.0 which means the monitor offers so much fps on its own on paper but it has no connectivity to really provide it. Its like buying a 400 horsepower fred firestone car, with the addition that you CAN NOT mount wheels on it
I paid $1000 for the alienware AW3423DWF. Highy recommend it. However, with ultrawide you have to worry more about uneven wear than burn in since some content doesn't support Ultrawide. So I have some darker sides than others. Not really noticable in games or movies. But still a thing. I even babied it. 1 min screen time out and pixel refresh every 4 hrs.
@Isveniquxvn it's suppose to help with image retention. It prompts to do It every 4 hrs. Less if your using HDR. Then there's a panel refresh that prompts every 1000hr use
@benny5299 I dont really know pretty heavy use i would say. Burn in was really bad. Hopefully the new generation of qd oled has better burn in protection
I have LG ultragear 48" oled and the Alienware dw 34" oled and they are absolutely amazing, the ultragear dropped from 2k when I bought it down to 800 within the year tho 😅
This is the only upgrade I will need. I have a 13900k w/ a 4090...I plan to keep this rig for the next 3 years. Everyone tells me an OLED is the greatest upgrade at this point of time that actually makes a huge difference. The question is....With CES around the corner, do I wait for the latest and greatest tech in OLED or try getting a good deal now?
That’s what I’m like. I wanna get the pg32ucdm but I’m also worried about the size as some say it’s bad for comp gaming as it’s too big but at CES there is a 27 inch UCDM coming out but it depends on the actual release date if it’s not straight away in Jan then I’m not sure I wanna wait
I picked up Aw3225qf,not necessarly because of specs but the pricing in EU is absolute ridiculous msi and gigabyte is around 1300-1400 euro,Asus is freaking 1600euro(Why??!?!?!?) the only one decent priced is alienware for 1000euro. The curve is the most subtle minimal curve you can see,you barely notice it if you look straight at it,this comes from a person who owned flat panels all the time, and it has the same panel as others, really cant understand these pricing differences,im overall very happy with my purchase running on a 4080super/ryzen 7800x3d.
I got a vertical dual setup of lg 32inch dual mode 4k 240hz/480hz paired with a Asus 4090 and AMD 9800x3d. I can’t imagine playing on anything else. Stalker 2 running on 140 fps on everything Epic. I absolutely love my LGs!
I just bought myself one but I seem to notice some bandings have you noticed some as well? I did the pixel refresh but still there slightly considering a 1000 monitor it shouldn’t be a thing
What i want is a 38-42 inch ultrawide. good hdr, 1600/1800 curve, 144/165 hz is plenty for me. I dont need 240/480, i need size and immersion. Thought about alienware AW3423DWF. holding of coz vrr flicker/text. would like bigger size.. and its like 2 years old already. Not enough choices ffor ultrawide... sizes, overpaying for hz i wont get/need, and too curvey.... Have an acer z35p. It is 35 ultrawide 120 hz, 1800 curve VA. Still happy with it, just lacks HDR. Glossy panels are a nightmare. They look great, but most people have a window or artificial light which negatively impacts the experience. Where as matte solves this. Samsung's newer OLEDs seem to try and solve this (S24 Ultra screen is incredible) - But can sometimes give off a green tinge. I have a C1 and C3 TV and the I'd make them both matte if I could.
only issue I have is a small desk, want a 1440p monitor to add to my 1080p monitors, I swap out 1 1440p monitor for 1 1080p monitor! ill also get an rtx 5080 i think
I don't think they'll make a 38" oled ultrawide since you can produce many more 34" panels on a sheet, leading to more waste.. but I agree. It is the BEST resolution and size. I feel like 2" on the top would make a 34" better and a 38 has that and more. Let me know if one ever pops up.
have a look at the samsung oled g6 (g60sd). i just got it and its really good and it also was one of the cheapest options overall (only one aoc model was cheaper). it does have a matte coating even though its a qd-oled however so dont get it if you like glossy panels, for me its a non-issue tho.
You're not exaggerating, after 40 minutes I had a stuck image, it was only moderately visible, I had to replace the monitor, I don't know how it is with newer models.

I just got that monitor of facebook marketplace for $500. It is really impressive. I had 34 oled 1440p before this. I was thinking 4k would not make a difference but i was wrong.
I was debating about the lg 34gs95qe and the msi 341cqpx. A few days ago I ended up ordering the LG. Did I make a mistake? I am used to a 27" samsung odyssey g7 and I love the curve and I have a msi 165 hz 1440p ips as a 2nd monitor for youtube/discord. I still want to use one on the side after this comes. I have a 4080 and a 14900 K (wish i went ryzen but that's another story for another time). Would love your thoughts. Plz let me know. This is the first oled as well as ultrawide that I will have. I also play both multiplayer games and single player games. Thanks for your help and love your channel. It's very helpful.

yes 38" 4k QD LED 240hz yes please . Ive got a 32" 1440 VA Predator z321 and I want the upgrade to stand out , happy with a curve too just not sure about 800R maybe 1000R
I just got that AOC budget monitor. Found it just before I made a silly purchase of a £1000 monitor. It's pretty fantastic and does what you want. My take on these monitors... Anything more than 240hz is too much. In 4k games you will struggle to achieve a FPS to use anything more than 200 HZ. New panels will be coming out next year, including 27inch 4k and hopefully the market will be flooded making pricing cheaper.
I'm planning on picking up the PG27AQDP for the 1440p 480hz. I have a pretty sick gaming room with a 60hz 4k 40" TV and that works if I want to play games in 4k.
Thank you for this video! I'm looking to replace my Predator 34x, as its having issues and this is helpful. If you have any recommendations that are like it for an nVidia GPU I'm all ears. For work and play.
OLED with VRR flicker is big no for me. I bought one and returned it. I will stick to my IPS monitor from 8 years ago, until they resolve this problem.
I have had zero flicker on my msi oled 4k and I’m quite sensitive to visual disturbances. I feel like these were more of an issue when they first came out they seem to have got it down especially with firmware updates.
@@gerbermw@gerbermw Yeah, I am unsure why it is not visible for some people, but as per my research, it is common among OLED panels. I tested with the latest firmware, too, but there was no improvement. Disabling VRR also is not an option for me considering paying 800$ and the basic feature does not function properly.
matt ruins the picture. I have several oled tvs, handhelds, and even a razer laptop oled, all glossy because when i see matte ones all i can think is where did the clarity and colors go. I can understand it if you are outdoors a lot and like on a laptop but in a controlled area like computer room I just dont get it, but to each their own. I know people who prefer the matte so it is what it is. Even lcd tho it's rare but i've seen a couple gloss and they still look MUCH better.
I need to pick between two upgrades. 1. From 144hz IPS monitor to 240hz OLED or 2. From 4k LCD TV to a LG C3 OLED TV..... Its so hard...🥲 Is the movies way bigger experience than gaming?!

Most helpful video for me by far, thank you!
Love the energy and I couldn't agree more with your recommendations and conclusions. People downplay matte v glossy and while true you can live with either, once you see them side by side it's really hard to go back to matte. Just recently got my first UW with the AW34 and it's amazing, really enjoying it so far.
Just got a Corsair 27 Oled 240 last week, have a PC, Series X and a PS5 Pro hooked up to it, amazing monitor big upgrade from my LCD 240 Htz monitor I had, I saw reviews saying there not bright enough but I don’t see it mine is perfectly fine I even had to turn the brightness down, haven’t seen any screen flickering but I only use it for gaming
I have the Alienware AW3225QF 4k 240hz QD OLED paired with my 7900XTX and 7800X3D never looking back, OLED is amazing if you can afford it you will not be disappointed!
You just bought in 2024 an 1000$ monitor with DP1.4 (a 10 year old connection). You can only run that resolution+refresh with video compression.
I have that monitor with 5800x 3d and 7900xt works pretty swell love the monitor
@@OriginalUser2023can you explain this more because I just bought this monitor and was happy until I read your comment
i just got the G85SD like a week ago and its amazing, and the price of it was also really good
just a quick warning, there is no burn in warranty, i found out about that after i got it, but i dont mind, i've taken pretty much all the measures you can to prevent burn in with windows such as the monitor turns itself off after 10 minutes of not being used and i've hidden the taskbar
@@CrystalKyryn there is :)
Great video! One thing's missing, though: color profiles and color reproduction. For content creators and video editors, color grading is vital. How do these devices perform in that area?
Seeing some crazy deals on pc builder channel, wish the prices looked like this last year
Got the LG C4 42" OLED and never looking back!
Picked up the MSI 32' 165hz QD-OLED for $699 at best buy 😊 It's GLORIOUS
spending 700 on a 165hz monitor is outrageous
@@0praisebrefor you maybe…. Or just say you can’t afford it..
@@ARXInfinite do you understand hes just saying that he could get way more hz for this price ?
@@AGreatMordhauPlayer it doesn’t matter? You’re not getting the same image quality.. 240Hz OLED looks the same as a 360Hz in terms of image smoothness.
And if you looking for a 4k monitor you probably have a 4090.. so yes… 700 usd for 4k and 165Hz is better than that of 1440p 240Hz IPS..
@@0praisebreit’s a 4k oled monitor…
So the first one at ~10:00 has only displayport 1.3 and hdmi 2.0 which means the monitor offers so much fps on its own on paper but it has no connectivity to really provide it. Its like buying a 400 horsepower fred firestone car, with the addition that you CAN NOT mount wheels on it
Just ordered the MSI MAG 271QPX
Hope I’m not gonna be disappointed 😅
I paid $1000 for the alienware AW3423DWF. Highy recommend it. However, with ultrawide you have to worry more about uneven wear than burn in since some content doesn't support Ultrawide. So I have some darker sides than others. Not really noticable in games or movies. But still a thing. I even babied it. 1 min screen time out and pixel refresh every 4 hrs.
@ihadlunch8575 yeah i burnt that monitor in pretty badly
what is a pixel refresh? does it help burn in?
@Isveniquxvn it's suppose to help with image retention. It prompts to do It every 4 hrs. Less if your using HDR. Then there's a panel refresh that prompts every 1000hr use
@@Michael-c3m8r how? how many hours you used it? i got a friend and his monitor is still fine after 2 years with heavy work
@benny5299 I dont really know pretty heavy use i would say.
What kind of ambient lighting do you have? looks stunning
Man i also do hope we get a 38 or 39 with a bump in resolution from 1440p out of CES early next year. want to get a new monitor
I mostly just play on my 65 lg c1.
Msi has the 341cqp

yeah same doubts i have as with the alienware. just not perfect, but... now just saw this msi is for sale (black friday) for 599 euro. Good value. . May get it for that price to enjoy that upgrade for a few years. I was looking at alienware for 899 before. With monitors/tvs its tricky to wait for exactly for what u want, u can wait years lol. Will think about it :)
I regret buying a ultrawide VA panel last yr, but now im stuck with it for the next few yrs.. hopefully oled tech will b even betr then in terms of burn in risk as i probl would wanna keep it for many more yrs
I just grabbed the 32 inch Alienware 4k 240HZ 0.03MS response time QD OLED for 899$ and yoooooooooo… it is AMAZING! Also the 3 year burn in warranty is clutch!
I just bought mine today and hooked it up to my Xbox series X and my screen is not crisp at all it looks grayish and I run apex on it and the game looks terrible not sure what I messed up on
@ yeah I’m not that familiar with Xbox.. I run PC and mine was clean and clear right out of the box over my HDMI 2.1 cable
You're an early adopter. You're gonna regret that purchase when more refined monitor tech from Alienware releases.
@ no I won’t.. I don’t get FOMO every time something newer and better comes out. lol
@@AverageLarryGaming Dog, this entire channel solely promotes FOMO.
I bought the XG27AQDMG yesterday for 499 euro (including tax), don't think there's a better deal for any other monitor atm. We'll see what all the hype is about as soon as it arrives.
Why use that??
Is it the same as he said in videoes
how its good deal if u dont tested?
great reviews, but sadly im on the same boat as you and also waiting for the OLED 3840x1600 , i have the LG version and its amazing and dont wannt be downgrading at the moment. fingers crossed for 2025
Glossy panels are a nightmare.
Got the lg45gs95qe arriving tomorrow. Did have a slight panic about burn in but it's just for gaming.
1:31 That was a lot funnier to me than it should have been...
Best Review 2024 for OLED, thx!!! 😉
I'm looking at getting a 27" 1440p QD-OLED 360hz as my next upgrade. Coming from 1080p 240hz and a AOC 24" 1440p 165hz ips.
have a look at the samsung oled g6 (g60sd). i just got it and its really good and it also was one of the cheapest options overall (only one aoc model was cheaper). it does have a matte coating even though its a qd-oled however so dont get it if you like glossy panels, for me its a non-issue tho.
I’m using the Aorus 32inch 4k Oled monitor and I also have a LG OLED C4.
Just revived my 32GS95UV-B for £979 what a bargain and what a monitor🔥
Got the msi urx 4k quantum dot 240hz bit more expensive got in the black friday sale but looks an absolute treat
You're not exaggerating, after 40 minutes I had a stuck image, it was only moderately visible, I had to replace the monitor, I don't know how it is with newer models.
I'm with you on waiting. If LG puts out a 38 or 45 at 4k 240 my money is theirs. Till then my old trusty Acer x34 is kickin strong
2024 was a great year for OLED's, but at this point might as well wait for CES 2025 early January to see what's coming out next year
Bought the Samsung Odyssey GS80 4K 240 hz 0.03 ms screen a week or 2 ago. I managed to get a BF deal for 799 euros, saw that there was an opened box one that was returned for 740 euros, so I insantly bought it. Haven't regretted it one second. This thing is just

Ok what’s the best bang for my buck monitor for a PS5? Thanks
Thanks for sharing
wish you just said the price so I dont have to look all around in descrip
I just got that AOC budget monitor. Found it just before I made a silly purchase of a £1000 monitor. It's pretty fantastic and does what you want.
My take on these monitors... Anything more than 240hz is too much. In 4k games you will struggle to achieve a FPS to use anything more than 200 HZ.
New panels will be coming out next year, including 27inch 4k and hopefully the market will be flooded making pricing cheaper.
Mind sharing your opinion on this monitor: Monitor MSI MPG 271QRX QD-OLED
I'm planning on picking up the PG27AQDP for the 1440p 480hz. I have a pretty sick gaming room with a 60hz 4k 40" TV and that works if I want to play games in 4k.
I bought the g6 oled last year 360hz 1440p qd oled. Any thoughts on this? Also what are the best settings for oled monitors
First of all thats the mpg monitor for MSI and no, it doesn't have a wobble problem, you've just got an unsteady desk.

Thinking about the Alienware for my next Monitor. I was disappointed with my Samsung G7.
Would an Lg c2 42 be better than these monitors to use as a monitor? It’s 240hz oled.
aw3423dwf is $650 right now. I grabbed one and love it!
What would people recommend for PS5? Limited space so max of 40inch
In Aus, the Alienware is $1400 and the Asus is $2700. Bit of a no brainer unless you really dislike the curve.
Can I use these for streaming and video editing as well without a second Monitor?

Why didn’t you mention any Ultra Wide 4K monitors?
The only problem with cheap oled monitors is no oled care. i won't buy them cause the risk of burn-in

i just got the alienware aw2725df 1440p 360hz
That LG 480HZ be looking good
Is the price on par with say lg oled tv’s (since they have the 42/48 inch)
I need to pick between two upgrades. 1. From 144hz IPS monitor to 240hz OLED or 2. From 4k LCD TV to a LG C3 OLED TV..... Its so hard...🥲
Is the movies way bigger experience than gaming?!
I’m not really bothered about VRR but I use a LG OLED evo G3 55 inch 4K Smart TV
